ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

Hello group,

We have just cloned an Oracle 10.2.0.4 home one he finished successfully (OUIHome1). We have also cloned a 11.1.0.6 on a different House (OUIHome2), after that, we copied an offline backup physical on the server where the houses have been cloned. Now, we put all the environment variables for the 10.2.0.4 House.

ORACLE_BASE = / oracle/app/oracle

Likewise, we have created passwordfile and init
orapwd file = orapwmefpp entries = pwd = 5 password

However, we are unable to connect to the instance, it shows that these messages on these scenarios:

alert_SID.log file show settings whose default value used to start the DB.
If you can find in this file of a start of the DB which took place before today,
Then you can use these lines, values, the parameters to make new pfile & then a new spfile.
In the future, you should ALWAYS do a manual copy of the spfile, before changing anything

• ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm isn't exi

Hello

I have Oracle 10 g Express edition installed on windows server.
The server restarted abruptly because of a problem

The client while trying to connect to oracle server this started to get

ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor.

When I tried to connect as sysdba on server it gave me error

ORA-01034: ORACLE is not available and
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

I tried to restart the services.
I tried to restart the server.

I also checked that Oracle_SID is not in position of work-properties - Advanced - Environment Variables.

How should I address the problem?

Thank you very much

Another thing is that the service name is XE, but when I'm doing lsnrctl services, I do not get XE.

You are right.
The database instance, XE, has auto-Registre itself with the listener after the departures of DB.

Oracle service is running on your PC?

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the oracle a lot I need to develop an application that uses the data to store in oracle and the responsible server will not be around weeks!
I looked at the forum and found no correct answer, I yelled down the server and start again on the rise and has used these solution: set oracle_sid = grms

but it did not work either.

Please guide me how this problem can be solved.

I use Oracle database 11g Version 11.2.0.1.0 and IM having this problem seems not to have solved on my system...
Im working directly with the Oracle computer is installed and I tried all the solutions I could find on the forum of the RTO for the ORA-01034 error, but none seems to work for me please someone have more ideas?
EXPLANATION: first of all, I got this ORA-12505, so I applied a solution of forum OTN by editing the listener.ora file and added a SID_DESC more and it seemed to solve the error ORA-12505, whereupon I reboot my system and tried the connection, rather a new ORA-01034 error appeared.

That's what my listener.ora file looks lik after that I edited it:

Here are the solutions I tried for the 0RA-01034 BUT none WORKED
(1) do you find in your sqlnet.ora an entry like SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)? If so, change it to judgment SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NONE).
(2) set oracle_sid = grms
sqlplus/nolog
Conn System/Manager have sysdba
the judgment
startup
(3) change the name of the service to the CEILINGS
Please, does anyone have any other ideas better... would be grateful. Thank you

just try this >

cmd > sqlplus / as sysdba

increase the size of db_recovery_file_dest_size to a greater value of order below.

First of all please do not post details here, its against to oracle interoperability metalink, ID is sufficient for us. Secondly, yes you can, first to save $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emca script like

• Oracle not available, ORA-01034 & ORA-27101

Hi all

OK, I went and he again (messed up). I hope someone can help to guide me out of this, I thought I was doing OK. I'll try to be concise and yet provide enough detail. Thank you in advance for wading in it. I searched this forum and others, I'm not the first with this pair of ORA errors, but other threads did not help me to solve this problem. I'll be crossed this announcement on other forums, but not to areas of discussion here.

Two questions:
1. that I did wrong, what should I have done before running / after running game patches? (I have the Oracle documentation for the patch, but I got confused/lost in all the information on clusters & other).
2. What can I do to get it back? (Other that scratch completely and start again, I have seem to be able to perform).

I have a production system currently running on Windows Server 32 10.2.0.5. I created a dump and was re-hosting to a new server to test the upgrade of 3rd request of the party who sits on Oracle (PTC Windchill) the new server running server 2003 64 - bit. I had Oracle 10.2.0.4 installed from a Windchill upgrade previous trial. I ask the 10.2.0.5 patch set on the new server before importing the dump, but now it throws the following errors when I try to connect to sqlplus system / < pwd > @sid:

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

How I got here:

a. before you start, I was able to connect to SQL * Plus, 10.2.0.4.0 as system / < pwd > @sid. I dropped the user of PTC Windchill database with waterfall, successfully.

b. in Services window, I stopped OracleServiceWIND, Oracle_HomeTNSListener and OracleDBConsloewind. They are the only Oracle services running.

c. Ran the installer downloaded Patch from Oracle to start YES. ORA-home identified, patch set correctly installed. Log in to the file installActions repors "installing Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 Patch Set 4 was successful." Log file written reports even.

d. open a command window and attempted to sql * more open as a system, has failed with above errors.

e. checked in Services window, all the Oracle services began. Ran > netstat - tcp, tnslistener.exe abnp showed listening on port 1521. See setting Oracle Net Configuration Assistant listener configured on port 1521

f. connected: sys as sysdba, declared 'connected to an instance inactive.' sql > exit

g. ran > lsnrctl status reports, correct version, listener.ora, ~. Newspaper. "Wind" service has 1 instance. Instance "wind", status UNKNOWN, has 1 handler for this service...

h. registered in sys as sysdba, declared 'Connected to an idle instance.' Ran > startup open; output report:
Instance Oracle began.
Total system global area
Fixed size
Variable size
.. .blah blah...
Mounted database.
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance is complete. Disconnection forced

I am at a loss. Services Windows seems to have all my Oracle services running. But I can't connect to SQL * more like the system/pwd@sid that I have always done as a test before you import the dump. Ideas, suggestions?

I thank very you much for your time and the help of a neophyte.

Sincerely,
Tom

What document you went through. Can you provide a link? the document must be clearly mentioned this post steps patch must be... After having patched usually you start the database with upgrade to startup and it takes a bit of time to come. After that, you need to stop & restart the database with normal startup command.

• ORA-01034: ORACLE Linux error is not available: 2: no such file or directory

Hello

I have oracle 10.2.0 on Redhat Linux 4. Yesterday, I carry my database from windows to linux, and it worked very well.
But today when I try to log in it gives me error like:
[oracle@satish bin]$ ./sqlplus sys as sysdba

SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Tue May 19 15:33:22 2009

Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory

Enter user-name:
My all environment variables are very good.

In my view, any file is missing by
Linux error: 2: no such file or directory
But what cannot be found.

While I have an another database on the same system that works very well.

Thank you
UMesh

It may be a matter of case sensitivity. Under linux, it is important that the database name is orcl or ORCL. But you probably knew that.

• ORACLE not available ORA-01034

Try to install the peoplesoft database using windows 2000, oracle 10 g release 2 and peopletools 8.48

When I run the PeopleSoft database configuration wizard, it will fail to run the createdb10.sql script. I get:

CREATE HCM DATA
*
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

When I log in sqlplus as sysdba, it tells me that I am connected to an idle instance.

I can start the instance through the start command. I get an error that it cannot find the control file (which is true, the control files have not been generated) but I am able to query tables, for example double.

If I now try to re-run the wizard db (after the first removal system variable ORACLE_SID and vpd.properties file), I get error:

CREATE HCM DATA
*
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-30014: operation supported only in Automatic Undo Management mode

Q: How to work around this error?

Q: why the instance has not started automatically?

500 MB are obviously not enough... but you can try.
For your init.ora file, it might want to set db_cache_size, shared_pool_size as low as possible instead of default values.
In the %ORACLE_HOME%\database you can find an example of init.ora file.

Nicolas.

• Oracle not available, shared memory realm does not exist

Hello

I have problem during the installation of XE on Windows 2003 R2 SP 2 Enterprise edition. I have uninstall oracle xe and still the same result. Finally, I uninstall the windows and start all over again, surprisingly the always the same result. FYI, we have normally no problem during installation because it is part of our system, we sell to our customers who require Oracle xe. It is the first time we have seen this issue.

ORA-01034: Oracle not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist.

Oracle XE and Auditor services is started in windows services.

If we try to start the message occurred.

SQL > connect sysdba virtue

Connect to an instance is idle.
SQL > startup
ORA-44412: setting memory XE edition invalid or unspecified
SQL >

I can send you the journal oracle_xe, ora init and OpsBuildAll.log to create the database.

When compared with the installation of work, we have seen that the size of the oraclexe folder is less, it's just 233 MB while the work is beyond 1 GB. After investigation, discovered that the .dbf files is not available in the oradata folder, I tried to copy the files from one operation but the problem remains the same, no doubt there are a lot of missing more files.

Appreciate your help on this.

Thank you

Agus

It's a shame I don't remember that one. The error message (and solution) was a similar here: {: identifier of the thread = 2322695}, with a real solution from here: {message identifier: = 10039007}
(Just to keep an eye on this kind of mistake and to link the case...)

I'm glad to hear that you solved the issue now, but I'm still a bit puzzled how this could happen. Possibly management of memory to the point 10.2 XE does not get what he expected on systems with Hyper-Threading or several used CPU sockets, maybe is the fact, it cannot apply/monitor limitations as expected. Still the error message is a bit misleading.
It would be interesting to know if 11.2 XE gets along on this platform. Maybe you have time to give it a try someday? I would recommend to use 11.2 XE for a new installation anyway... ;)
It is likely to work because no one reported an error like that with 11.2 XE and there are a few positions, mainly on licensing issues, which indicate 11.2 would also go on HT and dual socket machines, but it is possible that they still had something different on their machines.

P.S.:
@Fredrik: If our messages overlap on this reference... ;)
@Agus: If you think that your problem has been resolved, please mark this thread as answered and all useful/correct answer accordingly, for other users looking for a similar question will be able to easily spot the positions in question.
Thank you!

Provide information about your operating system

If you use Windows, and then start the Oracle Service
If you use Linux, then export correct ORACLE_SID and start the database
