Oracle Enterprise Manager on Linux level 3?

Hello

I'm running 6 servers in tier 3 of RHEL 6.4 with Oracle 11.2.0.4 Standard Edition is installed.

Because I'm on a level 3 of Linux installation, all maintenance are carried out using sqlplus command line in an SSH session.

Is it possible to install Oracle Enterprise Manager on say a Windows machine in the same network to manage the Oracle linux instances?

Is it possible to use Oracle Enterprise Manager 11 g Standard Edition? If this is not the case, a license will make this possible?

Thank you for your response.

Kind regards

Peter

11g OEM (dbcontrol or grid control if) is a web-based application.  It doesn't matter what level your Linux race is on.  All my linux servers are three runlevel.  I have dbcontrol on each of them.  I have access via Firefox on my desktop.

Please let me know how this problem can be solved.

You run emctl off $ORACLE_HOME/bin (which would begin control of single instance database tool), instead of run emctl off $OMS_HOME/bin (which begins OEM 12 c Cloud Control).

Run the following: $OMS_HOME/bin/emctl start SGD

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 12 c + Postgresql plugin

    Hello guys,.

We would like to install OEM on several servers with the plugin for monitoring Postgres.
Our question is, is - legal - do we need pay any type of OEM license, or it is a free software that we can install anywhere.

Just for the record, we don't have any DBs Oracle on our servers.

    Thanks for the info!

    See you soon,.

    David

OEM itself is free. It contains a license restricted for DB Oracle store its data (unless you need a database with RAC for highly available environment, which must be licensed).

What is granted are adapters. In particular, one for PostgreSQL seems to be provided by a third party company - see Oracle Enterprise Manager Plugin for PostgreSQL | Medora blue

Whatever it is, check with these guys here impact license to be on the right side.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager control cloud 12 c - price

    Hello

More than 50,000 databases Oracle (70% Enterprise Edition and 30% Standard and Enterprise edition), if I want to master all the 50 000 + databases Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud 12 c for the tasks of monitoring and administrator, how the license part works? I know that the OEM is free with EE. Is that this applies to the control of the OEM Cloud 12 c?

    Thank you

    Vel

All responded in the well-appointed 'Enterprise Manager licensing information' document.

For example, on this page: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e24474/ch10_base_functionality.htm#OEMLI333

"Installation of the Enterprise Manager control 12 c cloud base includes several free features with the purchase of any Oracle software license or support contract."

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 12 c

    Hello

Could you please say for a solution using Oracle Enterprise Manager 12 c?

Scenario: We have 2 DBA providers to exploit our databases and 1 Oracle Enterprise Manager 12 C to manage all databases.

Once we cannot have an OEM 12 C to each group of databases, is it possible to have a segregation off the coast of access by group of databases?

Another question is: is it possible to lock the rule 'Edit' the administrator of OEM to a group of databases managed on the basis of this OEM?

    Thank you.

    Greetings Antonio

    Scenario: OEM - Admin = Z

    S/n of databases X = X

    S/n of Y = Y databases

X has only s/n X (OEM use) databases management

Y has only s/n databases management Y (using the OEM)

and Z has only read-only access to the databases X and databases Y.

X and Y cannot have the administration o OEM.

    Thank you.

Is not a 11g to test, but try mark for the target_name + target_type = "oracle_database' of mgmt$ metric_daily or mgmt$ metric_details, and do a like on metric_column looking for this particular measure... Once you have found the metric_name + metric_column, you can shoot for all the DB.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12 c Cloud Control is broken after a reboot

    People,

I use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12 c Cloud Control version 12.1.0.3.  It was all work until we rebooted the box.

Now, nothing is listening on the port 7801 more (by netstat), but if I put port 7302 instead in the browser's address bar, it'll take me actually to the OEM login page.  Once I'm connected, many things show that there are problems with communication between WHO and the agents.

The shutdown process was not very successful and cleaning, shown below.  There was a lot of java still running process that I had to kill.

    [oracle@{BOX} ~]$$OMS_HOME/bin/emctl who all stop - force

Please see /usr/local/app/oracle/product/gc_inst/em/EMGC_OMS1/sysman/log/emctl.log for details of the error

From, it looked quite well, but still we get these problems I mentioned above.

    [oracle@{BOX} GCDomain] $$ OMS_HOME/bin/emctl start SGD

    From Oracle Management Server...

    Departure WebTier...

    WebTier started successfully

    Oracle Management Server started successfully

Management Server Oracle is in place

This seems like a simple question, because we didn't change anything except adding memory to the box and restart.

Is there anyone experiencing the same problem?  Is there any solution to this?

    Brian

    Brian,

Can you access the console on https://oraaux1:7801 / em now?

And, you are able to start the agent by running $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl status agent?

Regarding your initial post, is also the repository on the same host? If so, the problem could be due to the repository database was not entirely upwards when WHO launched on the reboot of the host system (gcstartup) startup script.

When the SGC does not work as expected, you can take a look at SGD/monitoring of log files for clues. If necessary, please see:

Location and configuration of the Enterprise Manager log files

  • management of the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express

    Hello

    Thank you.

is 12 c, possible to manage the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express?

Yes - but you will not have the COMPLETE management functionality. See the FAQ doc:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-CDB-1965987.html

Can I Plug and unplug the PDBs with EM Express?

No, EM Express does not all CBD management capabilities in DB 12.1.0.1.0.

    Review ALL sections of doc

    How to find the URL?

When I run select dbms_xdb_config.gethttpsport (double); on a PDB file, it returns no rows.

Have you set up EM and set the port to the PDB? Again - see the FAQ doc

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-intro-1965965.html#A5

How can I configure EM Express on CBD and APB?

Users can configure EM Express at the root and container of the PDB, with each container using another HTTP/HTTPS port.  When it is connected to the root container, the information displayed are the entire database, including all PDB files.  When it is connected to a PDB file, displayed information is limited to the PDB data.  For more information, see the section on EM Express on the CBD.
