PDF newbie: image to PDF

I'm trying to learn the PDF language and make PDF files from scratch. I made the text files that not work and now I want to insert images, but I can't make it work!

I did a test file consisting of just a picture inserted as an XObject object. 'image' is just a small gray square 4 x 4. The file opens in Acrobat Reader without any error message, but without the image.

I write the PDF content below. Can anyone see what is wrong?

Any help much appreciated...

.. .thanks in advance!

  • Newbie: image display

I'm new to work less ColdFsion than IIS, and I hope that it is easy for someone here. I have my ColdFusion display pages, but can not display images, even with a direct URL. I have to put something in ColdFusion to allow images to display? IIS a jpg and gif are saved as long as the mime type, must I register also for the added web site (seems they would inherit)? Or something another image blocking that I'm missing? I'm allowing the 'Web Services' through the firewall of the server settings and get no picture even with the firewall disabled, so it's not. Maybe a file permissions problem? I have tried many things and wanted for a long time, so thought I'd post in the hope of help or advice.

My configuration: Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0, ColdFusion MX 6,1,0,83762, Windows Firewall

    Any help greatly appreciated,
    Eric

Unless you do something very sophisticated, ColdFusion has
nothing to say about the display of images.

ColdFusion creates the HTML code (including tags images) to be sent to the
browser in response to a request. The browser analyzes the HTML code and
made requests for image files, it needs on the web server. The
browser incorporates the content of the image delivered by the web server
    in the page rendered.

Examine the HTML code generated for the page. Relevant post
parts here if you need help interpreting the code. Probably you are
do not generate correctly tags for a reason any.

P.S. Yes CF can and does more answers HTML then these days, but
for this discussion, the HTML response is what is worrisome.

  • PDF Image Capture files

Since the update to Sierra (although I can't say that this was the cause of the problem), I have a problem when parsing and saving documents in PDF format using the image transfer application. A PDF file is created but when I open the pages are naked with perhaps only sometimes visible top line (and which appears at the bottom of the page!). This problem occurs only when I choose the PDF format; If I choose to save as an image file (PNG, for example), it works fine.

My printer driver is up to date and if I use software of third parties (e.g., HP Scan) this problem is specific to the application of Capture of Image so I can create PDF files successfully.

This problem occurs on my iMac Mini and Mac Book Pro which have been updated for the last OS of Sierra

You see the problem even if you scan to PDF using Preview?

I use an excerpt instead of the Image Capture to do this and he continues to work very well in the Sierra AFAICT. I'll try with the Image Capture when I get the chance, just to compare. He used to work as well, but I've not scanned with it in quite awhile.

  • shaped image saved in pdf, not the same thing

I have a project and it registered in pdf... photos have rounded corners at the opening, in pdf format, these images are square?

    What is the problem here?

In what application you created content that has become the PDF? Was - this Apple Pages word processing application and, if so, the specific version of it and the version of Mac OS X, which were in use?

Have what specific actions you taken to create the content of the PDF file. Did you start with an image that already had rounded corners, or have you applied a rounded rectangle image mask?

What application you use to display the final PDF?

  • PDF files open in the form of images in the mail application

Suddenly the mail program opens pdf attachments and automatically displays the practise in the form of images in the content field.

Unfortunately, it is an expected behavior for a PDF in Mail.app. You a reading a very long thread about it here.

  • FF4 print format PDF (Acro Pro) makes the text as image (FF3 do not have)

When I create a PDF file with Acro Pro text using FF4 is rendered as an image. FF3 doesn't have this (another rendering browsers text text as well). Win 7 Pro 64 bit, FF 4.0

It seems to go away when you disable hardware acceleration: Tools-> Options-> advanced-> general-> browsing, uncheck the "use hardware acceleration when available. Then restart Firefox.

Looks like a bug to me. Hardware acceleration should affect screen, not print not... and if it produces effects of impression, it should not impact it this way.

  • Small rectangles showing that separate pages in PDF MultiPage with Capture of Image analysis?

I'm having a problem of scanning. I'd appreciate it if someone could explain what is happening and show how to avoid it or how to fix it after the fact. I use a scanner large format HP Officejet 7610, a MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite, v.10.10.1. I use Apple Image Capture app, v.6.6, for scanning software. I'm scanning of some newspapers, with text and photos on the pages that talk about 11 "x 14-3/4" in size. I'm doing a PDF multi-page, each about 10 percent, with a resolution of 300 dpi. Sometimes, when I scan a single page or several pages, one or more small rectangles of scan appear in the PDF file, following a normal page or between pages. In the Acrobat Reader software, this small rectangle looks like a box of small curious, much less a thumb on one side, and when the PDF file is displayed, the small rectangle is printed, too, as if it were a separate page. Why this rectangle is displayed in my scans? Is it possible to not drop it? After that he was a part of a multipage PDF document, is it possible to get rid of him, keeping the rest of the analysis?

    Hey there @Rudyard , welcome

I read your post on digitization issues you encounter, and I want to help!

Please try scanning with HP scanning software to see if it happens to the same problems of quality and if so, try the following steps in order:

    1. Mac OS X: how to reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac.
    4. Install the driver full features: series e-all-in-one HP Officejet 7610 Wide format full feature software and drivers
    5. Also install the driver Apple: HP v3.0 for OS X printer drivers

I hope that help, let me know the results!

    Ask the Finder items

Copies the items from the Finder

    Rename items

Make the PDF Pages as Images

I found the answer.  I needed to adjust the order of the steps.  It is now:

    Ask the Finder items

Make the PDF Pages as Images

Move the items from the Finder

    Rename Finder items

    Works like a charm now.

How can I insert a jpeg, pdf or a similar image in a spreadsheet of numbers? Cut & paste works but aligns with the cell, which is not what I want. I need to be able to move and change the image later.

Do not paste in a cell. You can stick right on the canvas.

Aside from cut and paste, you can use the "Media" button in the toolbar.

Or in the Insert menu > choose...

  • PDF to Image file

    Hello

I would like to ask if it is possible to use LabVIEW to convert PDF files into image files? or more precisely, the PNG files.

Or are there resources/links that provides sufficient information on the PDF format so that you can use LabVIEW to make certain quantities and get a picture/photo card?

    Enjoy one advises.

Thank you for your kind attention.

    Rgds

Once, I posted a VI to create LaTeX commands PNG files I used Ghostscript to convert the EPS to png.  It turns out, with only a very slight modification the Subvi will also convert PDF to PNG.  Try this out.  You can install Ghostscript and then add the path to gswin32c.exe for trajectory control (if you install to the default location, you shouldn't have to change anything else than to the drive letter).
