• Live data / problem with the permissions of files

  Just try an old version of Dreamweaver MX 2004. I use my service for server/test remotely webhosting server functions. It is running PHP 4.3.10 and MySQL 3.23.58. I was able to set up the database connection and test - retrieve a recordset with no problems. By following the tutorial, I found that visualized wouldn't work, he just gave me a warning about file permissions be wrong. It turns out that when Dreamweaver creates a temporary file of the work-in-progress to upload to the remote server, the file is created on the server with owner = rw, group = rw, r = world, which explains why it does not-group must be set to group = r. The file is created on the fly and then immediately deleted by Dreamweaver so it is impossible to manually set permissions on the server and probably pretty useless too.
  
  I tried just to save the file and the preview in the browser that forces again to be uploaded to the remote server. The first time, it resulted the browser offering a download of the file box instead to run the page. The reason is - again - that Dreamweaver updates downloaded file permissions to include the Group = rw. If I manually set permission for the group the r = group that it works very well.
  
  It turns out that Dreamweaver always puts the permissions of files on the downloads of files (checked php and html) on the remote server / tests to include the Group = rw. Once I have it placed manually on the remote server / tests to the Group = r for a php file, everything's fine and later additions of the same file do not change it again.

  Specifically, Dreamweaver supports the ability to use a remote server for testing purposes. It seems reasonable to test the site locally using the real remote environment in which it must be applied if the site is not already online.

  It turns out that the problem for me is related to what the remote server and tests of server connection configured to use SFTP. This caused the files created on the remote server to have RW set for the group that has been causing all the problems. When the value to use FTP standard, is very well - prepare file permissions properly when downloading and data online works as expected.

  Another SFTP side effect was that the site FTP log contained the Interline - am added to many of them whenever the remote server has been consulted but no text. On the configuration of the connection to standard FTP log fills up with messages as expected.

  I have a LOT of pictures on an external drive connected to my computer.  I run Windows 7.  Two records from hundreds of files, each with many files in them, I can open but cannot open the pix in the records.  I need to change the property etc a pix at the same time.  This is not so on the other hundreds of records.  Why these two, and how to change ownership of the folders rather than files inside individual them?  I tried to change the owner of the folders but am not allowed to do.  Can anyone help?

  Recently, I replaced the hard drive on my mac.  Already before the replacement, I got the files that I had locked.  Now I'm unable to open the file.  I get the error "the folder 'nom_de_dossier' can not be opened because you don't have permission to see its content".  I looked at the permissions for the folder and everything he says is fetch.  I ran a command in the Terminal and for one of the records in question, that's what I see-

  Start the mac all holding the SHIFT key, it is slow, connection, and then select Restart from the Apple menu.

  When this does not help:

  Reset password utility in the recovery Partition:

  1. Restart your computer from the recovery partition.
  2. Open disk utility and run a repair permissions on your boot volume (in ElCapitan click the first aid tab). Once this completed, close disk utility. We do this for good measure.
  3. Open a Terminal from the Utilities menu. Type in resetpassword and select your user (NOT administrator system/root) account in the menu drop-down.
  4. Click on the Reset button at the bottom of the window ACL section and Reset the folder permissions.
  5. Exit the utility password and return to the main recovery menu.
  6. On your keyboard, press ⌘ + Q and restart your computer. It is very important that you don't hold down the power button to exit the recovery session, or the ACL Reset to occur.

• Problems with the permissions/security configuration XP Home Edition - can not download any software!

  I have Norton 360 on my computer.  OS is XP Home Edition. My computer very slow in normal mode (not in SafeMode if) I chatted for 4 hours with the help of Norton Tech... try to allow remote access, which could not happen because the piece of software that must be downloaded has been blocked, and I got a pop-up box saying that security settings do not need to download this software.  Then we tried to download Norton360 to reinstall it, and I got the same message.

  Since Explorer crashes constantly, and I'm very furstrated with it, I decided to try the same Firefox downloads.  Software download, but trying to run them, I got a message syaing that I don't have permission to run them.

  Hi im mike, my cpu was picked by WMC, including safe mode, its changed a lot of icons. • Problem with fixing XP files permissions

  Hi all

  I am having some problems with the permissions of the files on my Windows XP laptop. The crux of the problem is that I can't copy/move/delete some files even if ownership and file permissions are all correctly. Even within a directory, some files I can move/copy, but others I can't. The files in question are my Outlook PST files which I am trying to back up manually.

  I tried to play with file ownership and permissions. Used the account admin machine, all to nothing does not. There is no file open file handles, I can not simply copy them. It's all very strange and hope someone can suggest how I might be able to gain control of these files again.

  Please describe your problem in detail. Include the full text of any error messages you see. Tell us the brand and model of the PC and what version of XP (Home, Pro, or MCE) runs as well as the Service Pack level.

  Outlook PST files can only be saved when Outlook is closed.

  Also, it is unlikely, but do a right click on the PST file, select properties from the context menu, and uncheck the 'Read only' if it is checked. Click OK

  Error 553 means a problem with the permissions of the drive. I suggest you to confirm that the internal storage has been configured for write access.

  When the script runs as a scheduled task (alerted by a batch file) the recipient will receive an email with the report attached, however the content of the report is more or less empty.

  When we run this command even file manually, we sent the report and it is completely filled.   I understand this seems completely illogical, but could someone help to understand why this is happening?

  A few weeks ago someone messed with the permissions on your server and made a mistake. So, you got an inappropriate list ACL (Access Control), which is rampant in the file and must be removed or fixed.

  My boss asked me to set up an OS X server from scratch and I have no knowledge of how while I am qualified as a graphic designer and only have knowledge of management of minor network which has been accumulated over the years. I have no formal training, but trying my best to get things as long as our old server died shortly after leaving our it guy and he left us no notes on how something has been implemented.

  


  So far, I have had some success, configure DNS server permissions, etc, but I got to a point where I am unable to continue and I'm not sure what I want even is possible. I spent most of yesterday at scouring forums and try a few different things without success.

  


  In the workplace, we often connect to other computers to copy and modify files. I've got things so that staff within groups can read/write or just read based on their permissions from group very well, however I have a problem with users moving files on other computers and permissions that go with that move.

  


  I have a lot of staff under the "creators" group who are able to login and edit files on other computers "designers". The files were shared through the sharing of files on the Mac in question and set of permissions based on groups of read/write privileges. I've set up some computers with the same, on the same network but the way they interact with other computers seem to be quite different from the permissions of file sharing.

  If a staff member creates a file on their own computer and move it across on another computer of designers using their (attributed to the designer group) individual username to another computer to people, said file keeps only the user, IE 'ike' R & W, 'wheel' R & W & "everyone" Read Only on said computer, but on their own computer retains the permissions 'ike' R & W The R & W staff & "everyone" read-only. Another computer also attributed somehow the group 'designers' also for permissions of files, allowing other designers on the network to change the files but not the true owner and user of the computer, in spite of being a designer in the group "creators". The only difference I can logically put it down is different versions of operating systems. This would have an effect? Unfortunately, some computers in the office are quite old and may only, based on what I've read, be absorbed so far in the OS X updates (most is running 10.8.5, I really want to upgrade if possible but boss is against him for some reason any... mine is running 10.10).

  I would appreciate all help I can with what I have reached a point that I honestly have no idea how I should continue - after reading blogs and forums for the past 2 days I have not seemed to be able to find something that could answer my specific questions, but maybe it's because I set up correctly from the start.

  Ouch.  I'll try to help in your thought process.  First of all, my deepest condolences to be pushed in a field in which you have no experience.  I'll start by pointing out that Apple certified consultants that can help your organization.  Please take a look at https://consultants.apple.com/us/ to find a counselor in your area.  Your company can create a partnership that can provide lasting benefits and allow you to return to do the work that you prefer.

  OK, now let's look at your situation.  Actually, I won't have to try to solve the problem you have at hand.  Instead, I will try and persuade you to focus on a simpler model.

  First, you mention the implementation of an OS X Server, but your main area of failure is personal sharing of files between computers.  I will give my opinion and suggest you cease this activity.  I can't imagine how your organization keeps track of versions and the workflow if the files are distributed peer to peer.  In addition, what's your backup strategy?  I can imagine several scenarios where this practice will crumble.  User A deletes a file on user B's machine.  User B must leave early so user has picks up the slack and makes the change.  User B is delivered the next day and assumes the task is always active and changes the file on his computer.  She sends the machine to the user now likely to have three versions of the same file, assuming that nothing is crushed.

  Creating a group of Designer you mention.  But are related to the server workstations and is the user mobile accounts?  If the accounts are local accounts are not the same accounts as those created on the server, despite the short names are the same.  UID and GUID values differ.

  Then, how to save these data and how to make your clean?  After my experience, sharing in hand to hand is like having a download folder or an FTP server.  Data going in and out.  I guess that many of your machines have high usage of the data because that whenever a file is shared between the systems you now to create a copy of the file.  And as stated above, I can't imagine a clear workflow to ensure that the most recent and correct, file is still under development by the appropriate operator.

  Ideally, I recommend stop all personal file sharing and focus on a single, centralized where file server permissions can be applied in a logical and just average.  Everyone works present a centralized location, providing version control and access to documents regardless of their staffing attendance or workstation status.  Backup is also much easier.  While you should always be saved from your desktops for disaster mitigation, with all the data of your company in one place allows replication backup and easier off-site.

  Again, sorry 'solution' not to your question but it's my opinion that your rethink your workflow to get the best control of your data.  I hope it's useful.

  2 Di you use any third-party tool to mount the drive?

  I suggest that you remove the external drive using the disk management and check back later if you can change the permissions on the drive.

  If you change the permissions, make changes to the permissions on the drive and then mount the drive.

  I would like to ask you for advice with "vpn sysopt connection permit". I have a problem with by-pass-access list (acl) in the INSIDE interface. As I understand it and I'm going to use this command, there is no need to especialy allow traffic in the access list for the INSIDE and I can control the filter-vpn traffic. But in my case it's quite the opposite, I want particularly to this INTERIOR acl traffi. When I allow this traffic inside acl L2L tunnel rises, hollow traffic flow vpn-fltr ane acl that everything is OK. But when I do not allow that this traffic is inside of the rule with Deny statement in acl INSIDE block traffic and tunnel goes ever upward. Part of the configuraciton which you can view below.

  The command "sysopt connection permit-vpn" is the default setting and it applies only to bypass ACL interface to the interface that ends the VPN. It would be connected to the external network interface. This custom has no effect on the other interfaces ACL interface.

  So if you initiate or need to open connections from your local network to remote network through the VPN L2L connection then you will need to allow this traffic on your LAN interface ACL networks.

  If the situation was that only the remote end has launched connections to your network then 'sysopt permit vpn connection' would allow their connections around the external interfaces ACL. If If you have a VPN configured ACL filter, I think that the traffic will always accompany against this ACL.
