Profile and preferences - homepage of PLM4P settings

"Hi, I was wondering if there is a way in profiles and preferences of a user to choose whether they want to have the dashboard tab" Action "is selected by default or the 'Home' tab is selected by default.

Thank you

Looks like a great improvement.

Out of the box, you can set which tab to show to all users. There is an IsPortalHomeDefault configuration in the config/custom/customersettings.config file that animates what tab is the default value.

Oops... did not write the question where I... How to set the default settings of the camera profile standard (now available after downloading the camera profile and copy it into the appropriate file)? Is it possible to apply too in images showed in the bridge? I'm a newbie in the forums and I'm not sure how to proceed.

You can right click and copy the settings on an image that has the right profile. Then highlight all the images that you want to edit, right click and paste the settings. On the list that is displayed, simply choose the camera calibration.

Profile of preferences for better performance

Hello, I work with image sequences a lot, and I use scripts too much and I often have to change the settings.
I made a set of preferences for those times where I work like this and not have to manually change the preference.
I have some properties but im missing a bit.

    I have:
    app.preferences.createFirstSnapshot = false;
    app.preferences.maxRAMuse = 80;
    app.preferences.imageCacheLevels = 1;

    But I did those worked:
    app.preferences.numberofHistoryStates = 3;
app.preferences.savePaletteLocations = false; is it? or rememberPaletteLocations
    app.preferences.showToolTips = false;

and I could not found activate version Cue anywhere (including the JavaScript script reference)

  • I'm trying to print using my own profile and no color management.   I have found a lead to the Adobe Color Print Utility but reached a point where he declared that she would not work with future versions of the Mac operating system.   I have Mac OS 10,11,

I have been printing PSD images with my own profiles and color management using an Epson R2880.

I've now changed to a Mac with OO 10.11.3 and unable to replace the color management.   I found a lead on the Adobe Color printer utility but failed and got a message saying that the utility has only worked with an earlier version of the OS 10.   Is there a way to turn this problem?

    GHK

You don't want or need to use the old setting 'No Color Management'. Is no longer the right way to print with a custom printer profile, in the current versions of Photoshop and OS X.

To use a custom profile to print, use the attached picture settings:

    • In the print dialog box, set the Photoshop color management menu manages colors.
    • Select your profile to the printer in the printer profile menu.
    • In the settings of printer driver Epson (under Printer Setup button) make sure that the Epson printer driver is set to the color - off management.

I don't know why Adobe Color Printer Utility works in 10.11.3, because I can throw on OS X 10.10 and 10.11. But in the end, it doesn't matter, because you don't want to use it for this purpose Adobe Color Printer Utility is only to print a profiling target, no images. And it won't let you print using your custom printer profile, because the whole point of the utility is to print with no discoloration whatsoever.

  • I've updated to the latest version and now all my color settings are confusing. Open old files shows wrong colors. What can I do?

Open the old files poster colors wrong unless I switch to "Monitor RGB" and turn on "Proof colors" in the view menu.

Exporting jpg files gives me files that look different in each browser. Many of my images take on a lighter yellow cast. I know there are issues with the help of profile being different between browsers, but I've never had this problem before. All my different when PSD files I open them and export differently than before.

Even my Color picker displays more pure gray, but gray yellow in them. With the evidence mentioned above, color settings, I select in the picker look nothing like what is actually painted on the canvas. I see gray on the canvas but yellow gray in the color picker.

I remember spending a lot of time setting up my color settings in my previous version of Photoshop. They seem to not have been migrated to my new version, and I don't know how to recover or configure again.

The upgrade should not create these fundamental differences with my settings and workflows. I work almost exclusively with screen images and websites and I have no idea how to proceed. I can still function normally with my old files and the product is basically useless for me as it behaves now.

I'm desperate. What can I do?

    Robinson-Adobe says:

Open the old files poster colors wrong unless I switch to "Monitor RGB" and turn on "Proof colors" in the view menu.

That what is disable display color management chain - IOW take your profile instructor out of the loop. Which means you have a bad monitor profile, probably a sent through Windows Update.

The real solution is to use a standard to make a new profile, but if you do not have one, use sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 for now. Go to control panel > color management:

Be sure to restart Photoshop to load the new profile at startup.

Color settings won't leave anything here, and don't change anything. Color settings is to manage document profiles - but the issue here is the profile of the monitor , which is something different treated elsewhere.

  • Color profile and 100 k of problems please HELP

    Hi all

Having a problem with preparing printing of files and it confused me a lot!

I need to create a pdf file that is set to CMYK ISO Coated v2 (ECI) but with a bar code that remains 100 k - not a black CMYK.

The path of my work is:

-Design work in PS and save to the pdf format - I uncheck the profile embedded in the Save as dialog
In the pdf settings box, I put the output to convert to ISO Coated v2 (ECI) - is the standard PDF, PDF / X-4: 2010

-J' I place this pdf file in a model ID as well as the other logos and barcode (barcode is Free Online Barcode Generator - create ready to print bar codes)

-When I'm ready to export the pdf file of ID I put the output to 'no conversion of color "and"Includes all profiles".

My printer is back to me telling me that the file is not ISO Coated v2 (ECI) and the bar code is made up of CMYK not 100K

Can someone help me here, I do not understand what goes wrong.

    Thank you

Use the default PDF/X-4, which will define the document profile assigned as the output intent profile. Then in AcrobatPro the output intent profile will be set as the Simulation profile, and you can check values:

  • Auto Deploy, host profile and answer files

    Hello

I'm busy trying to learn a little more about Auto deploy. I'm trying to figure out what is the best practice when it comes to the part host profiles of the automatic process of deploy. The way I see there are two ways to use host profiles.

    (1) for each host, I create a separate host profile and create necessary deployment rules, one rule per host.

    (2) I create a host profile and only one rule of deployment and then use the response file option to create the unique settings of the host.

I've set up two option, option 2 seems less reliable while option 1 works every time. So my main question is what is the recommended method to use profiles to host with Auto deploy.

    Thank you

    Hello

It is usually done through your supplied option 2.

Create a profile from a host of reference and apply this profile to a host or a cluster.  Usually a cluster or however you define your deployment rules.  Update of the personalization of the host, then remove it from maintenance mode.

Documentation on the profiles of the host.

Here a documentation to Auto deploy

So, that is the 'best practice' or ' recommended?  Good question.  Which is usually answered by - what is best for you!

I hope this helps a little.

  • Profiles and persistent record documents redirection

    All,

I have a simple question about the redirection of the profiles and documents to the persistent drives when you use linked clones.  I do not have the answer, or did he only glassy in the mountains to view the documents that I've gone through.

When VMware mentions redirecting boards and profiles of documents on a persistent drive, they offer set up a GPO to redirect them? (A GPO to redirect their say, D:\Documents and Settings?).

Or view actually handles the redirection?  My gut says that this is done via a GPO, but I thought I would ask for clarification.

    Thank you
    Drew

Where setting the option of disk in the pool view will handle the redirection of profile.  In addition, you can add a GPO to make the folder redirection that would smoke less on the size you want for the persistent disk.

  • The profile and level? Please help explain

When you export images I usually use some SOUL and I regularly get error messages that speak to increase the profile and level, but I have no idea what those who want to say or do. I mean, I read the help guide (http://helpx.adobe.com/media-encoder/using/export-settings-reference.html#video_exports_se connections), but the explanations for the profile and level are one-liners that explain all of diddly squat. With what little info cryptic I found on the interwebses, I essentially blindly set settings until I got something close to what I want or need. I had MUCH rather like to understand what they are and how they affect my output so that I can actively solve the problem on my own. so...

(1A.) What are the profile and level, and what are doing?

1 (b) that the different digital representations of level way/do? The range of choices (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 5.1) appears randomly to my uneducated brain, which probably means that there is actually a very good explanation and precise specifications for each of them.

2A.) What are some applications of real-world data settings? What is common/widely accepted and used?

    Thank you!

  • The installer copy and preferences in order to install new

I recently had to replace my computer.  I reinstalled the software creative suite but I want to transfer all the settings and preferences from the old install for installation of new before I turn off the old installation.  For example: Dreamweaver.  I have several defined FTP sites that I would like to simply copy the installation again without having to manually enter all site names, IDs and passwords.  Also all custom color palettes, I created in PhotoShop and Illustrator.  Is it possible to pass all this information to the new facility?

Use the drop-down menus (top-right) in the respective palettes to save your stuff to external files. The panle in DW site also has an export function. Import using the same methodology.

  • Registration of Styles and preferences

    Captivate v5.5

Recently, I had a problem with my PC which has resulted in my duty of re - install Captivate from work. It is while I found all my Styles and preferences have been lost and have no trace of what settings I used the was a long job, trying to catch what I have has been used on previous projects.

Now I said that I have more work on my PC - installation of Windows 7, which means once again I have to re - install Captivate.

Is there anyway to record/save my current object Styles and preferences before putting the hand on my PC?

    Noel

Try: File, Export, preferences (creates a file with extension cpr) and re - import reinstall them after (file, import, preferences); for Styles: file, export, Styles (will create a file with extension cps) and dito for re-import

  • How to repair files with broken JPEG ICC profiles (and perhaps other questions)

I have a set of valuable digital images, they are actually fairly low resolution scans of the prints, but they are invaluable and cannot be re-analysis.

The images show the following questions and I don't know how to fix:

    (1) in the dialog box import LR, they appear as "Preview not available for this file.

    (2) when I try to import into LR, I get the error "the following files were not imported because they could not be read.

    (3) if I open the file in Photoshop CS5, I get the warning "the embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the embedded ICC profile is not valid. Ignoring the profile' - if I ignore it, PS can open the file but of course, the color profile is missing and the images seem to universally terrible.

Curiously, however, the images provide an overview in Windows Explorer and if I open them with the infinitely lower Windows Live Photo Gallery, they correctly opens and the colors are properly.

Which leads me to believe that there is something wrong with these files that Windows is OK with but Adobe is not. Because I don't have the paper prints, cannot perform a new analysis and do not know the workflow of the process not applied, I have absolutely no idea if this happened in time scanning or subsequently.

HOWEVER, at this time, it surely must be a tool that allows me to package the information Windows can read and put it back in the file where it should be so that Adobe can read the same thing?

    No idea how?

    Thank you in advance,

    Alastair

    Alastair,

The application of windows Viewer ignores all profiles and treats all files as if they were sRGB.

Probably you have your Photoshop preferences defaults to a space of a different color than that, so the colors look bad. Try to make default PS in sRGB and open one of these images. If it looks good, you can embed a profile inside sRGB and save it under a new name. If this isn't the case, report and someone should be able to help.

All IT gurus out there who know Firefox... have lost the passwords saved when FF created a new profile and delete old files key3.dbf and logins.json profile. Any ideas, anyone?

    So it's not a logins.json file?

I see a signons3.txt file and a file signons.sqlite older, if you can try to see if you can import passwords stored in this file.

You can force Firefox to re-import the passwords in the file signons.sqlite and regenerate the file logins.json with the following steps:

    • reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
    • Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder

When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true.
You have passwords that are imported in the password manager, unless there were errors or signons.sqlite signons3.txt.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
