Quiz slides - Edit button actions

All,

I have a Captivate 3 project with different quiz slides throughout the act as the comments section. I was able to have the Send button send users to a table of contents slide. However, I want the same thing to happen when they click on 'Next' quiz slides (if they want to take the exam). Is it possible to change the actions of the individual buttons on quiz slides?

Andy

Hi Andy and welcome in the community of Captivate!

When you say "slide quiz", I assume you are referring to built-in question types (true/false, multiple choice, etc.).

If this is the case, I fear there is no way to change the behavior of the Next buttons. They just go to the next slide.

With this in mind, try to insert a blank slide at the end of each review with a range very short timeline (maybe 0.1 seconds) and the value it is to drag navigation to return to the table of contents slide. It's a little more work to add these, but it should work.

  • CP 8 quiz slides previous button does not

While it worked for a few months, back in the questionnaire slides button is now mobile users (January 2016) to the question instead of back to the previous question or a content slide. Any idea why this happens now and how fix?

I use an LMS (Blackboard), but what is happening within the project, after that it's completely downloaded from the server. I have the 'send data on each slide' verified due to problems with the LMS save scores, I need to be able to see where the data or the connection stopped sending. I have the number of retries set to 3 for most of the questions and the quiz of all. The next button is enabled on the quiz slides where the user goes back and has already presented the right answer on a slide of questionnaire and need to move again after this slide.

Checked the "allow backward movement" seems to work. Thus, checking the back button to show on the properties of quiz for each slide of the questionnaire is not automatically allow the user to come back? I have to do a two-step process - check a button on each quiz slide and the other in quiz preferences.

I can't understand why it worked before, though. Maybe I did something that I have cancelled by publishing this go-around.

    Thank you.

  • Quiz slide then button... two clicks?

Very well.  Having a weird problem I don't know if it is universal or repairable or what.  If you guys have experienced this?

On my quiz slides, there is a bit of a hitch between selecting the right answer and go to the next slide.  You get the success caption "good job, press next to continue."  The problem is that there are actually two clicks to move to the next slide in the quiz.  The first click clears the legend of success, the second click actually progresses the slide.  Is there a reason that I have to click twice?  What is a universal curiosity?  Can I fix this problem so that the legend of success clears and progresses it slide with a single click?

    Thanks in advance,

    Eric

The fixed!  Slowly but surely, arrived Lilybiri.  If the hitch came because I had not changed my Advanced response of 'No Action' Option to 'Continue' when I added captions that are unique to each answer instead of a legend of success or failure by default.  I guess that continues it is transition enough to go beyond the break, but not enough to trigger the slide?  Not sure why it works with her continue but he does, and I get to keep my sanitation/advice on the slide in shares of advanced response questionnaire.  I am happy.  Just thought I'd post the answer for users of the forum of the future.  Thanks for your help once again.  Have fun.

  • Is it possible to assign a tip action to a send on a quiz slide button?

A tip action you can assign to a submit button standard quiz?

No Jay. The buttons embedded on quiz slides are not the normal buttons.

If you say what you want to achieve? Because after the two-step process (submit) is the action specified in the success or the last attempt will run. You can replace the default action 'Continue' by a tip action.

  • CP4: Customize the appearance of the buttons on the quiz slides

    Hello

I have a request to customize the appearance of slides of button quiz (not the text, the look of Windows 3.1). I don't see that it mentioned anywhere, except curiously recent announcement as CP5 apparently allows it.

Some tips to find out how CP 4 Please?

    Paul

    Hello

Captivate 4 allows you to edit the buttons on Question slides. You can choose the images. Simply create images for how you want the buttons find and use those?

  • Adding buttons to the quiz slides

I want to add a button 'Continue' on a quiz

Slide, so that the user can take as much time to read the comments and then on the next question or the next task in e-learning.   The problem is that the icon of the button (to add new buttons) is grayed out in the slide of the questionnaire.  Similarly, I can't paste the navigation buttons I created for other slides on quiz slides.  How can I get around this (I'm not a programmer so don't want to try to create widgets)?

    Thank you, Richard

I've had success with that by creating the button in a new project only 1 slide - and important "objects" only on my blade of quiz - the properties of the button remained intact (with the exception of the multiple actions)

  • Quiz Master slide edit

Is it possible to change the Quiz Master slides?

Insert quizzes and get ugly white boxes. Go to the slide of the Master window and or import project background AND still looks like ugly white boxes - the history of the project sits behind....

How to make quiz slides to look like the rest of the slides?

In my case, the blades are red brand of the company. I can change the fonts, but cannot remove the ugly black band at the top or the white boxes

    is Captivate 8

    Thank you

You can perfectly edit master slides for schools of quizzes, they are part

of the theme. Better save the theme as a custom theme, object styles are

included as well. Best, do it before you insert slides.

  • Cp8 quiz resizing of buttons slide master

I don't know if this is a quirk in the installation, otherwise it something that others are experiencing.

On the question slide, MC master and the quiz results slide I rearranged the buttons and the legends of the slide and resized them. All buttons and captions are visible. I wanted to just make them bigger. I did also in Cp7.

But in Cp8 when I insert a questionnaire slide buttons and captions are narrowed to adapt the text of the element. Positions are the same, but no, they are not the same size as I put on the master. If I "Reset Master Slide" nothing changes. But if I select the master slides in the quiz slide properties and then Clear, Back and Next buttons and captions change to match the master page. But the Send button is shrunk to fit. This seems like a bug to me. I know we cannot mess with the Send button, but it should keep the size properties. He did and Cp6 Cp7.

Can someone else confirm this behavior?

Just figured out this is a preference setting. I disabled in preferences/Defaults/General: buttons of Autosize and legends. Kind of weird that the question buttons behave differently with resizing works well.

  • CP6 - need to add an audio button on quiz slides to "read aloud the question."

CP6 - need to add an audio button on quiz slides to "read aloud the question." Most of our target audience is younger (grade 1-5) and provide more accurate results, if each question is 'read' for them. Of course there are big players in the Pack, but the option should be available to listen to the question and not have to read it. Therefore, there is a button to trigger the audio on every issue. Ideas?

You don't need a button. Just add a legend of the question bearing slides a sound add you the portion of the legend. You can hide the legend by making it transparent.

  • Introduce the button disappears when you return to the quiz slide

    Hello world

We have just improved Captivate 4.0 to 5.5. I teach to 5.5 differences between 4.0 and one that I can't understand.

On quiz slides, if the learner move previous and next in quiz slides, buttons quizzes are fine. However, be they click on slide 1 quiz, then advance to the quiz slide the submit button flashes and then disappears for this slide and all other quiz slides. I can't find a setting to fix this.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like a problem of scope of quiz.  If you click on the first slide of quiz that would take you to the slide BEFORE the first slide of questionnaire which is technically outside the scope of quiz.  This generally means locking Captivate quiz.

I didn't know personally this Act of disappearance of button, but you can check if the scope of the quiz is the likely culprit by adding an a received, click Inbox in the first slide of the project, which will then extend the scope of a quiz on this slide.  If this prevents your quiz slide buttons from being endangered, we know the problem.  Which may mean that you have always found a bug that needs to be fixed though.

  • How to add click on the button/box QUIZ slides?

We have a core questionnaire for our online courses. In the upper part of the quiz, we have a navigation bar with the other back, main menu, help, etc that we use a click box to make a link.

However, when we are on a slide of questionnaire option box and click button are grayed. You can access them at all. How we solve this problem? We HAVE to have the navigation bar is functional as it is for the rest of the slides. Help!

Will captivate you cannot add additional buttons, or click on the boxes for quiz slides.

On Quiz slides, you can use the standard questionnaire slide buttons. It is a feature of the software, but a feature never less.

  • How can I show recovery failure and success pass slide quiz slide?

    Hello!

I need my Quiz branch finish following the result:

Failure it should display the slide with button back and Exit button: where resume would obviously leave a timer from restarting the user (my quiz has a time limit) and rerun the quiz and exit would leave him close and continue LMS interface later.

The success it should display the slide with text of congratulations and Exit button.

Now in order to resume the button available, I have to drag the visible result of settings, but this slide also contains the continue button, which frustrates the logic, because its function cannot be changed and it allows a user to slide to success doesn't matter if the questionnaire was sent or not.

Please help me with the solution, if you have one! And thanks for reading in any case.

I just wonder why you use this system variable instead of the simple Boolean variable cpQuizInfoPassFail? Which would make your conditional 'universal' advanced action, could be used in any project, not based on the total number of correct answers to all. In addition, I would recommend this turning point in a joint action, can be reused over and over again. Please, do not remove the button continue, it is the essential button on the slide to Score and could screw up feature! Remove in the timeline has exactly the same result as the removal of this button. You can make it invisible to the user without remove it, by the removal of the label and change background/outline. Another tip: perhaps qualify your slide 29, the "SlideSuccess" to facilitate this action to read and not to depend on the location of your slide to success.

IF cpQuizInfoPassFail is equal to 1

    Go to SlideSuccess

    Continue

  • Quiz slides to measure

    Hi all!

A question if you allow me on the feature...

I built a Captivate presentation with a quiz at the end.

There are a number of briefing slides before that and the last one is a regular preview slide that says:

"In the next screen, you will make a QUIZ 2 attempts at this quiz, you will be allowed."

The user would then click on the NEXT button and do the quiz

After having done that, they would have the option or is continuing until the end where there is a bit of blurb

and a RESET button by which they will go to the beginning of the presentation.

Now ideally, I want the feature when the user gets to the overview slide just before the test, if they did

the quiz once, instead of getting the message above, they get a new indicating: -.

"You already had an attempt of the quiz." You now have a left. "

BUT if they had 2 attempts, they will receive the message,

"You had 2 attempts of the quiz." You can access the quiz section.

AND... when they click on the button NEXT, this time they're going to just go straight to the end slide with the RESTART button.

    Now, is it possible technically?

Maybe with a conditional logic and definition of variables?

    Thank you

I do not understand your answers. So just will give you an idea for the slide in snapshot.

Put a variable v_message in text on the 'Preview' slide and fill it with the text you want, based on a conditional action triggered enter to this slide.

    Decision 1

IF cpQuizInfoAttempts is equal to 2

Assign to v_message with "you have exhausted all atttempts.

Jump to...             slide no matter what you still want to visit after the quiz slides

    Decision 2

IF cpQuizInfoAttempts is equal to 1

Assign to v_message with "You have an attempt to the left"

    Go to the next slide

    Decision 3

    IF cpQuizInfoAttempts equals 0

Assign to v_message with 'you will now be able to do a quiz... »

    Go to the next slide

  • Quiz Slide pause question

I'll do my best to explain my situation. I just got 8 Captivate and just familiarize yourself with the environment. But for the life of me, I can't understand why my quiz slides are a break at the end and do not continue to the next slide. I use master slides and custom navigation buttons. My intention is not to include the built in the playback controls, that I wanted to have my navigation stylized and placed a little differently. I activated currently, helping me to solve the problem of the playback controls. My back and Refresh buttons work fine, but every time I click the button following (value of the Action to continue), it will complete the current slide, but to stop somewhere for the transition. The only way to continue at this stage is to press Play in the playback controls. I tried what actually a button template slides (using a smart shape, and then select use as a button) and I tried to put the button on each individual slide, but the problem seems to be the same (or similar) no matter what.

Thanks in advance and do not hesitate to harass me for more details.

Break question generally slides 1.5 sec, for this two steps in the process; I don't know if your "buttons" - assuming you are using buttons shape, may be scheduled for the rest of the project - having point of interruption and if so, where?

Even 7 you couldn't escape master slides, don't understand your 'did not use master slides at this time here?

  • Audio masking and play/pause NAV custom from quiz slides

I have a custom in my CP6 project navigation:

    • Previous slide and the following page are intelligent forms on my master slides.
    • Turn on/off and Play/Pause are intelligent forms that switches (via the tip action). These direct on my first series of slide and are without title to last until the end of the project.

On non-quiz slides where I don't want everything play control, I use a model of slides without the prev & next buttons and have a sur-Entrez action to hide persistent toggle buttons.

Don't know if it's the most elegant solution - feel free to suggest another.

But my question is: what is the best way to hide the fins on the blades before the test & quiz? (Can't make a sur-Entrez action.)

    Hi Tara,

I group all the objects that must be hidden and use the on enter event drag to hide the group. If anything else needs to be done by entering in these slides, you can use an action smiple on first pre-test/Quiz slide. Be sure to show the Group on the first slide where you want to see the toggles that appear.
