Rules of upgrade for Cool Edit, Cool Edit pro, Audition

Does anyone know the order of upgrade for the following applications?

Cool Edit 96

Cool Edit 2000

Cool Edit Pro 1

Cool Edit Pro 2

Hearing of 1

__

If we had Cool Edit 2000 this was the next step upward? It was Cool Edit Pro or hearing?

__

It is posible to Cool Edit 96 to Cool Edit Pro 1? Or is mandatory to go through Cool Edit 2000 first?

We could go from Cool Edit 96 of hearing?

_

Such information is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Cool Edit 2000 was outside the system upgrade - it was a standalone full. The 'upgrade' of CE2000 was to buy Cool Edit 1 (or mainly of 1.2 at the time). Do not go via CE2000 what either.

  • Cool Edit Pro uninstall?

I use Audition 1.5, it was installed as an upgrade of Cool Edit Pro 1.5... I can uninstall Cool Edit, or should it stay in order for hearing work properly?

    Thank you, R Mohr

All versions of Cool Edit/Audition are complete in themselves. So you can keep or uninstall one of them without interfering with the others.

Sometimes when you install a new application version updated to check for the old confirm that it is installed as an update rather than a new version, but AFAIAA you can simply enter the serial number of your previous version if it is not installed for the new version to be happy, at least this is the case with the last few versions of Audition.

    Windows Vista Compatibility Center

First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/

If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.

This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.

If it's Vista compatible > uninstall it > Re-download/save to your desktop > right click on the setup.exe > run as admin.

If the above does not help, try to repost in Forum Vista programs:

  • Problem recording DJ set using Cool Edit Pro

Im trying to record a dj set on my laptop that I have done many times before. I recently rebooted vista on my laptop and the problem is when I try to record it is at a very low level in the program I use (cool edit pro) I have my mixer pluged into the microphone jack on the problem of laoptop (also done this plenty of times before without any problem) is it's still recording when I take the out.still taken at the same low level of ideas?

    Hi leon41175,

As you use a third-party program and the parameter to change this could be available in the program itself, your best bet to contact at the moment would be the manufacturer of the program. Contact them for assistance.
  • Cool Edit Pro 2 Windows 7 is compatible?

using cool edit pro 2 with windows 7. How?

How can I use Cool Edit Pro 2 on Windows 7? I read that virtual xp is compatible, but what is it?

Its no W7 compatible, or even Vista.

Log in as administrator and try to run in XP compatibility mode. Good luck!

What version of W7 do you have? If his house, then you are out of luck. If its Pro or Ultimate, you have to go to MS and download the 'vitual XP' files and install them. Did not work for me, but you never know, maybe you'll have better luck.

Also, depends on what you want to do with it - if its for edit a file its (wave, mp3 etc) then use Audacity, it's free and has the right tools.

    See you soon,.

  • Give the hearing CS6 look and work like Cool Edit Pro 2 or AA3

Is there a way to make AA CS6 look and work like Cool Edit Pro 2 or AA3?

I use it to play live performance tracks. I'm eager to make the biggest play, pause, stop, etc buttons in the tab transport section.

Unfortunately, hearing, as a Publisher, is rather less wonderful when it comes to being a direct file player. Always has been.

Screen 'player' of hearing acts only as a file for the beaches of landmark drive, files not together. The solution for him to play the whole of a file is unfortunately a bit heavy; Open all the files you want to play using "Open Add" and make a range of landmark around each of them (Ctrl-A and then F8). Then, you can import all of these mark lines in the drive and rearrange them in the order you want them to play. But then you're a little drunk, as the normal transport controls do not control the file player... and he does not stop at the end of each placemark!

When I had to do in the past, my solution was simply to open all the files in reverse order, as you want them to play in, open the file as if you were going to edit and press play. Then go to the next in the list. Yes, having to transport non-rescalable controls is a little pain, but it doesn't matter, you can use the SPACEBAR rather effectively, or do like me and use a Red Rover. Two or three things to mention; Make sure that you have parked the ICT at the beginning of each file before opening the following (it can be a little annoying if you forget this, because he remembers hearing for each separate file and your file might start playing sort). The other thing is good news, and is that when he does, at least the file stop playing at the end - as long as you have not activated the playback loop, it's...

can I upgrade Edition Vista Home premium to windows 7 using vista anytime upgrade for free?

Lol you cannot use Anytime Upgrade upgrading Vista to Windows 7.   The Vista program to THE was the upgrade of a Vista edition to a higher edition of Vista only.  The Vista program to THE ended when Vista was removed from retail sales.  It has never been free.

THE present program is to upgrade an edition of Windows 7 to a superior and is only available to current users of Windows 7.

If you want to upgrade Vista to Windows 7, you must purchase a standard upgrade of Windows 7 at retail price.  Please see

  • The upgrade of my desktop pc from HP a1540n for photo editing

    Hi all

I am currently running Win XP SP2 on desktop HP a1540n; System specs are here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00679533

After you have maxed out my RAM (4x1Go), the system has worked well for me for about 4 years.  However, I'll buy a new 36 MP digital camera and need to upgrade the operating system to a minimum (for Vista or Windows 7) to take over some of s/w that I use for photo editing. At the same time, I am considering a few hardware upgrades as well to improve the speed of the system (I work with large files).

I'm looking for options in order to make the system work and, if $ allow to improve performance.  I would like some advice on whether if it is worth upgrading the hardware or just bite the bullet and withdraw from the newer system for somethng.

Option 1: OS upgrade only, pref for Win 7; cost: ~ $140

Option 2: upgrade MB (with processor), optionally add a video card. upgrade cost:?

    Option 3: new system; cost: ~ $1000.

Option 2 makes any sense?  So I hate to waste the old h/w, I'm not sure whether this option is profitable.  Can the remaining material (power supply, etc.) support and are working properly with the motherboard more recent or other improvements will be necessary as well (in addition to the OS)?  I will be attaching multiple drives (some new, some existing); a new MB give me USB3 ability, or is it a separate addon?

    All advice/recommendations would be appreciated...

    -Rob

    Rob, welcome to the forum.

This is one of the most difficult situations to address.  The upgrade can be a good option if the original components are even more recent.  However, a computer that is 6 years old becomes a dinosaur.  As a result, purchase new may be a much better option.  If you can afford the $1,000, I think you would advance money.

Which edition of Windows 7 is installed on the machine?

Which edition of Windows 7 you are trying to do an Express upgrade to?

Please note that the Express upgrade does not support OEM, MSDN-Academic, Volume (the student faculty licenses) license. If you are in possession of all these brackets, you will need to save and do a custom clean install. If you want to do it, please backup your Windows 7 Home Premium or according to edition currently installed. Some licenses for Windows distributed to tertiary level students are not perpetual, which means that you cannot continue to use the software after a course or graduating.
