Should InCopy fonts to allow editing?

I'm looking at the introduction of InCopy for existing InDesign print production workflows. InDesign is done on a Mac, the copy is generated on PC. The PC and the Mac share a Windows 2003 server, but some communication is by e-mail. In both cases, the computers have not their newspaper installed font families. So that the PC be used by journalists to edit their copy in InCopy, they need to have the full font family? Or can InCopy work without the fonts? Or do I need to price policies user lisences for PCs as well as Macs? Note that the PC should not print at all, journalists will work completely on the screen.

This is no different from any other application. You MUST have the fonts installed or you will defeat the purpose of using InCopy... he sees the opportunity to see and change the layout exactly the way the designer. Without appropriate fonts, the application will have no way to duplicate the text stream.

For best results, use only the OpenType fonts.

    =======================================
Movie Maker has problems with the .mpg files... best bet would be
to convert the .mpg files before importing the .wmv format.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Music - wma, wav, .wmv

    See the following article:

Movie Maker 2 - Import MPEG files
    http://www.Papajohn.org/mm2-importing-video-MPEG2.html

    The following freeware can convert:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
    (FWIW... you can uncheck
all the boxes on the last screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
Open the program and choose an output folder...
(this is where you will find your files when they are
    converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

    Select "At?" / OK...
(the? is the format of your choice)

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • Changes after the Incopy fonts spacing content update

I'm having a problem trying to understand what is happening with my spacing of the font for a text box that has been allocated and updated by one of our editors.

I don't know what version of incopy there is probably don't not CC. I use Indesign CC Build 11.2.0.99.

The amendment to its update should not change anything, except a paragraph near the end of the text box, but for some reason, all the text is changing. The text is formatted in the way that I want to first capture screen, then after update of much tighter sound and flows differently. Monitoring, kerning and all text attributes seem to be exactly the same. So miss me something somewhere, or there may be a compatibility issue if it has an older version. I'm not sure. Any ideas?

    Screen Shot 2016-01-27 at 9.57.53 AM.png

The second paragraph breaks completely false after update. Nothing is changed in this paragraph by the Publisher.

It is essential to know which version is used, and to ensure that all policies are the same.

  • Editable RichTextField does not allow edit

If a RichTextField can be changed?  I can't get this to work.  Here is a code:

    _rtf = new RichTextField(RichTextField.EDITABLE);

    _rtf.SetText("Something I will change);

However, when I run the present on the device, I can focus on the field, but cannot change it (typing does nothing).  Any ideas?  If a richtextfield can be changed (I guess that one b/c it has this property)?  Is there another type, I should use?

    Thank you

RichTextField is read-only. An EditField should fit if you want to change.

  • 6 Lightroom not allowing editing of external drive

I have two external drives connected to Lightroom, one is a 1 to and it's almost complete, the other is bigger and quite empty. I noticed today that

the 1 TB drive is coming as the Red menu in Lightroom. It allows me to look at the pictures but when you go to and external program (Silverefex) to change it will not allow me.

The drive works fine otherwise, I can display images in Photoshop and elsewhere, but for some reason any not in Lightroom. No idea where it started, have disengaged, restarted

unplugged, in vain. All advice appreciated.

Ok. Makes sense. To change in an external application, LR should create a new copy of the image, and your player's room. You need to move the files to another drive or remove things that you no longer need.

If you move folders of images from external drive, use Lightroom to do. Drag and drop in the files Panel.

  • PSE8.0 CR2 files in organizer but downloads won't allow editing any.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/3132576

Receive messages from 'error' CR2 of Canon 1DMKIV, files are not valid and "PSE8.0 Editor" won't open files in the Organizer.

Open the zip file you just downloaded, and then click on extract files.

You should see a 64-bit file and a file of plug-in below. The plug in has a file name: Camera Raw.8bi

Now do drag the plug-in file (or copy) in the File Formats of files in the following location:

    C:\Program Files\Fichiers Adobe Plug-Ins\Elements 8\File Formats\

If you use a 64-bit Windows edition, then move the plugin file in the unzipped download file by accessing:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe\Plug - Ins\Elements 8\File Formats\

  • CO5110Y BIOS will not allow edits LAN or video BIOS version 5.38

    Hello

I have a Compaq CQ5110Y with BIOS version 5.38. My problem is that I need to disable the LAN chip on board. My current BIOS will record the changes to the date and time, but it seems that it will not save the changes to the ADVANCED tab. I added a PCIe-16 video card. I tried to change the parameter by default-PCI PCIe - 16, and it will not save those or the other. I downloaded the update of BIOS 5.49 and tried to install it. I get an error message indicating that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. I replaced the original CD/DVD burner, as he would burn is no longer. I've also upgraded to 4 GB memory main. I can't find the older BIOS updates to try. No info found on the HP site regarding BIOS updates history and that they aimed to correct.

On each startup, I get a message saying the BIOS defaults have been loaded due to a problem of error or check sum. Is there a BIOS update to fix this problem? If so, which version is, and where I can get it?

    It is a strange.

Here's a guide that will explain the error code 9994.  I don't know if it will help you, but it's worth a try.

  • InCopy missing fonts

I'm not a user of InDesign/InCopy, so my knowledge is limited.  A division of our company add InCopy in InDesign CS5 to control the flow of work.  I was called to help solve a problem with missing fonts using InCopy.

Example: Mac user (A) creates a layout using InDesign CS5 and registers to the network share.  We tested this with or without create assignments.

Mac user B opens the layout using InCopy and receives the message "missing fonts.

It is our understanding that InCopy took care of that by integrating use of the functionality of fonts in the Document.  The fonts in the Document folder is created and the fonts in the document are in this folder, but it's like InCopy does not know where they are.

    1. are we wrong think about that InCopy should take care of this (even if it is a point of the ball on the Adobe website as a new feature)?

    2. If we are right, then we must be missing something in our process and would like to know if there are instructions to make it work.

I saw the post about policies copies in the InCopy fonts folder to work around the problems of fonts between Mac and PC, but I thought that was supported with this new feature as well.

I appreciate any help someone can offer.

in my first longer answer who ate the forum, I said that while the Document fonts folder was not intended for ID/IC workflows, however IC supports the Document fonts folder... I think more as an oddity than anything else.

If the IC user opens an InDesign file that uses fonts that is not having installed in its system, IC will look to see if there is a folder of fonts in the Document to the same level as the INDD file. If the answer is Yes, and it has these fonts and load them temporarily, as he only w/InDesign. These fonts are displayed in the upper part of the Type > list of fonts, from the fonts in Document drop.

So if the InDesign user wants, he or she could create this folder manually (do * not * use the file > package command, which breaks the workflow) and put it on the server at the same level as the INDD file.

Note that PostScript Type 1 fonts only are not supported with this method... they cannot automatically load and PC cannot load the native fonts in Mac OS. (I know this isn't a problem for you, but for the walkers as).

  • Why can I not use the font Helvetica Neue LT Std?

I can't access the Helvetica Neue LT Std font to edit PDF files.  I use a PC.  What has something to do with it?

Since my name has been used in this thread...

Bo is just fine. Unless the font you want to edit with is actually installed on your system, there is no way for Acrobat allow editing text that uses this font, regardless of whether or how much of the police is embedded in the PDF itself. There are technical and legal issues related to it, or which can be quickly explained here.

Since I don't have Helvetica Neue LT Std installed on my computer systems, I tried using the function to change to the text from Acrobat to edit the text with the different faces of Helvetica Neue LT Std family. No problem! Assuming you are actually trying to change the text, if you have the fonts installed on your system, you should be good to go, so to speak.

HOWEVER, be aware that there is a big difference between the use of a font for text editing rather than using the same font for a field of forms (including form fields that are not the user to fill out)! Restrictions on what fonts you can use forms fields are much stricter. A font used for a field of forms should not only be installed on your system for the creation of the field forms, but police must also have the license field allows Editable Embedding. Creating a field of forms with a particular font issue in Acrobat integrating all the glyphs of the police in the PDF file such as anyone who receives the PDF can fill form fields using the specified font, even if this font is not installed on their system. In reality, more fonts available on the market allow only the Preview and print Embedding which is inadequate for use in forms. All Adobe Original family (designed by or specifically for Adobe) fonts like Myriad Pro, Minion Pro, Adobe Garamond Pro, etc. allow Editable Embedding. Unfortunately, the family of police Helvetica Neue LT Std (coming from Linotype) provides only the preview and printing incorporation and as such, cannot be used for the fields of PDF Forms.

  • InCopy 2 columns

    Hello

I'm in Indesign and my Publisher worked in Incopy.  They put in place the incopy as a 1 column file.  Only, I placed the incopy file in my indesign layout and amended the provision in a 2 column layout.  When the editor opened the incopy later file for editing, it appears only as 1 column?

    My questions...

    1. the incopy file should be put in place from the outset as 2 columns in order for us to be able to see a presentation of the 2 column and look at the same file?

    2. If I place the incopy 1 column file in my indesign 2 column layout, the incopy user will never be able to see the 2 column layout?

It is enough to look at the same file... try to see if my process is wrong...

    Thanks in advance...

Once you have placed the file in InCopy, the editor must simply open the InDesign document (the INDD file) with InCopy, allowing him to see and work on the layout. You can also create a new assignment from the Publisher to open.
