  • What Oracle Workflow required to run hourly OWB?

    Hello

    I want to build and deploy a calendar in OWB 10 g 2 to automatically run my process OWB flow every week. I would like to know

    (1) the question of if I need to install Oracle workflow also in order to run the process flow according to the schedule created?
    (2) otherwise, how does the OWB Scheduler?
    (3) in addition, if the regular flow process stops due to an error, how I take the run from the endpoint after correcting the error?

    Thank you

    Amit

    Hi Amit,

    (1) the question of if I need to install Oracle workflow also in order to run the process flow according to the schedule created?

    Of course, you need Oracle workflow for execution of processflow. OWF is a processflow engine and scheduler is a tool to indicate when start processflow/mapping.

    (2) otherwise, how does the OWB Scheduler?

    It depends on the target database version. For the database from 10 gR 1 OWB uses Scheduler (DBMS_SCHEDULER of PL/SQL package) of the database.

    (3) in addition, if the regular flow process stops due to an error, how I take the run from the endpoint after correcting the error?

    There is no standard feature of OWB to resume processflows failed. But there are several building method processflow providing resume functionality.
    For example look at this discussion

    Conduct of operations and process flows
    What are the best approaches to mapping restart in OWB?

  • appeal of oracle workflow business event

    Hello

    How to call the oracle workflow business event?
    If possible, could you give some examples of code.

    Thank you.

    Short term: assign values to the attributes that make up the payload of the event. Then lift it up. Here is a simple example of the compilation of field Flex event:

    declare
    l_application_id fnd_application.application_id%TYPE: = &1;
    l_descriptive_flexfield_name varchar2 (200): = ' &2';
    l_application_short_name fnd_application.application_short_name%TYPE;
    l_parameters wf_parameter_list_t: = wf_parameter_list_t();

    Start
    SELECT application_short_name
    IN l_application_short_name
    OF fnd_application
    WHERE application_id = l_application_id;

    wf_event.addparametertolist (p_name-online 'APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME',
    p_value-online l_application_short_name,
    p_parameterlist-online l_parameters);

    wf_event.addparametertolist (p_name-online 'APPLICATION_ID',
    p_value-online l_application_id,
    p_parameterlist-online l_parameters);

    wf_event.addparametertolist (p_name-online 'DESCRIPTIVE_FLEXFIELD_NAME',
    p_value-online l_descriptive_flexfield_name,
    p_parameterlist-online l_parameters);

    wf_event. Raise (p_event_name-online 'oracle.apps.fnd.flex.dff.compiled',
    p_event_key => (l_application_short_name |) '.' || l_descriptive_flexfield_name),
    p_event_data => NULL,
    p_parameters-online l_parameters,
    p_send_date => Sysdate);
    end;

    Kind regards.

  • Oracle Warehouse Builder and MySQL as a target for mappings

    Hello
    its me again. Now with another problem.
    I use the Oracle Warehouse Builder 11.2.0.1 and MySQL 5.1.1. I have connected to MySQL, imported from all tables - well. Now, I would like to use the tables in Oracle 11 g as a source and MySQL tables as a target for my maps. Since there are different servers, I used the model mappings. The problem is I get the error during the deployment process. I even can't deploy/create simple tables for the MySQL module. So I was wondering if it is even possible to use MySQL as the target? Or can I just use MySQL as a source?

    THX

    I forgot to write, I get a "java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException; nested exception is: java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException; Oracle.OC4J.rmi.OracleRemoteException; java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException; ' Error when I deploy my mapping.

    It seems that the connectors are not deployed. The connector is at the location of the CCA to the location source or target used in your mapping. You can try to deploy the connectors of the CCM user interface, it will be deployed as J2EE data stores in the CCA. Thus, the name not found error, is the name within the CCA for the J2EE data store, deployment of the connector should solve that. They should be deployed automatically I think that it may therefore be that there is an error in deployment of connector, you need to check.

    The mysql JDBC driver you copied into the appropriate directory for the CCA before the CCA?

  • Oracle Warehouse Builder VS Oracle Data Integrator

    Hello world

    I have a question can you help me.

    We have 64 x systems so we can not use Oracle Warehouse Builder (only supported on 32-bit system), someone we recommend using Data Integrator, but I don't really know this application.
    In any case could ODI 11.1.X.X be installed in x 64:

    All Oracle Fusion Middleware products that are listed as certified x 64 processor based Oracle Linux 5.5 or 5 update 5 +, 64-bit operating system, are also supported on Exalogic X 2 - 2.

    What is the different between OWB and ODI?
    I've read about it and see that ODI is powerful and it applies 'Data Quality' better than OWB, is it good?

    Is it possible exp/IMP with charger metadata go metadata OWB ODI?

    Hello

    Well, the fundamental difference is hard to tell. ODI is based on so-called knowledge module. These are implementations for physical access to all type (among others) different database technologies. So ODI used to be more flexible data extraction technology of database different and also written their. But with 11.2 OWB, these knowledge modules have been integrated in owb under so-called model mappings. OWB has stronger integration with the Oracle database and Oracle database is still required. Plans of Oracle to integrate these two tools in one some day, whenever that will be. ODI offers more options for the quality of the data (which are charged extra).

    Technically speaking, both tools are not very different. They have different UIs anyway.

    A big difference is the license. A basic version of OWB is included with the license database, it can be used without extra charge. Most of our customers use this version, even for implementations of large dwh. If you buy'm license ETL (or already have one), you can use both tools.

    Before decide you on one of the tools, make sure you have enough staff with the right skills available - internal or external.

    Hope this helps,
    Carsten.

  • OWB 11g 2 & Oracle Workflow

    Hi all

    We try Warehouse Builder 11g 2 and also the database 11g 2. He saw it works very well, but we have algo saw this Oracle Workflow, it is not supported in this version of the database and Oracle recommends the use of BPEL.
    Is this true? We have to install? The way to develop is the same with BPEL?

    Thanks in advance

    Is this true? We have to install? The way to develop is the same with BPEL?

    I know OWB11gR2 does not support the processflows of direct deployment to BPEL.
    Workflow Server Oracle provided with the Oracle 11 g R2 database (installed with OWB, directory for WF is ORADB_HOME/owb/wf).

    If you use the Workflow Monitor, you can install it from the CD of Oracle database 10g R2.

  • simple questions of concept CAR

    Hi friends,

    I have some simple questions of concept BECAUSE I want to clarify in my own mind.
    While I've created complete new environments BECAUSE sometimes these issues are always on my mind and hope someone might be able to confirm for me.

    (1) in 10 g 2, is it possible to create a CCR environment without using ASM? or without the use of devices 'raw '?

    (2) in 11GRx, I heard that Oracle no longer use the devices 'raw '. Don't know if this means 'can't stand', or ' is no longer recommends ', or ' possible to run CARS without flood "."

    Also, I do not know if this is serious or not, but I would be interested mainly on unix/linux platforms, but curious to know if the same were true for Windows.
