Update of Adobe Reader 9.5 'all languages '.

Hello

I know it was a topic, but we need the Adobe Reader 9.5 (not complete installation) update for the "All languages" version, not the MUI version. I know that it exists, but not 'all languages' a.

Are there? I know that in another topic, an employee of Adobe said that we must install the full version to have 9.5. But with a company almost 25,000 of computers, it worries me a little.

And I needed to be in french.

Can someone help me on this please?

Thank you!

Eric

Hello

Adobe Reader 9.5 can be installed on any existing version of player before her. Therefore, it should be treated as a regular update with some additional features and improvements.

To install the French update, go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ and select the appropriate configuration.

Otherwise, you can go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/ and download the installer of your choice and deploy it on all the computers in your business, how you want.

Hope that's enough.

  • Allow a standard user to install software designated as updates of Adobe reader with group policy

    Hello

I have the users configured as standard users to prevent them from installing unapproved software.

This causes problems with products such as java and adobe reader running automatic updates.  We then get cranky users because they are prompted to install the update and approval from the administrator.

Is it possible with group policy to allow pre-approved software to install as update of adobe reader?

    Thank you

    Hi rainwater63,

This problem may occur if there is an incorrect setting in one of the following registry subkeys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Check the Microsoft KB article below which talks about a similar issue with Microsoft programs. You can give it a try and check if it works.

You receive an "Error 1606" error message when you try to install or remove a program from Microsoft
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/886549

If the step above does not resolve the issue, I would say that you install the Windows install cleanup, then run the cleanup utility from the start menu and then remove the entries for the software, and then restart the computer for the changes to take effect and now try to reinstall the software and check.

  • Adobe reader icon took all my programs

I open a file with adobe reader and I forgot to uncheck the box that says opening all files with adobe. Now, the adobe reader icon took all my programs and I can't open them more. Is it possible to fix it?

    Thank you

The files "program" on your desktop and menu items are actually of shortcuts (for example, . LNK) files that point to the programs or documents. The fact that they are all 'look' like Adobe is because they have become inadvertently associated with the Adobe program.

I've seen this happen when opening a program via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with. After selecting Adobe (or another program) via the Select a program from a list of programs installedand check always use the selected program to open this type of file (circled in red below), the program referenced by the shortcut of origin or document opens in Adobe as it should.

The problem is that now all shortcuts (for example. LNK files) on the desktop or in the Explorer will want to be opened by Adobe and use the Adobe icon to display the shortcut no matter what shortcut was initially intended to open. This is known as a file association and the default icon. The same condition can occur if you have performed these actions 'Open with' on one. JPG or even a. EXE, but the. LNK explanation is much more likely for the items on the desktop or menu.

The good news is that a small free utility was written to cancel the. LNK file association was created. There is also a registry hack to achieve, but I recommend the utility unAssoc_1_4 for its ease of use.

I would suggest using the UnAssoc utility to remove the stray file association. I used to send people on another site to download this utility, but this site has become confused with all the ads and fake download links. I put a copy on my SkyDrive here.

Just download, then use the utility to unassociate the. LNK files for the user or globally delete the file type and let windows rebuild a new to the default values.

Adobe Reader is free and requires no key. If you are prompted for one, you probably installed the trial version of Adobe Acrobat instead of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
