  When you upgrade to 8.1 Windows it will replace your Windows 8.0. The only way I know to have both is to buy a copy of Windows 8.1 and install on another partition or drive.  Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

  I try to install OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence, c. 11.1.1.7.0), I unzip these files:

  -bi_linux_x86_111170_64_disk2_1of2.zip

  -bi_linux_x86_111170_64_disk2_2of2.zip

  I try to install OBIEE 11 g 11.1.1.7.0, but it does not find the Webogic server already installed on the computer.

  I checked the option "install the software only:

  

  I select the 'Home Oracle Middleware' directory:

  According to the matrix certification > it seems http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi/bi-11gr1certmatrix-ps6-1928219.xls , OBIEE 11.1.1.7 is not certified with Weblogic 12 c... Take a look at the roadmap "Web and application server interfonctionnements" of the matrix.

  If you want to install the software only, then I think you should use a version of certified weblogic as 10.3.6 and repeat prior steps. The installation wizard should be able to detect your installation of weblogic 10.3.6.

Where? I cannot locate and hesitate to put this disc without knowing what to expect. Any suggestions or ideas?

  This disc that says the Applications already installed on your computer IS NOT a recovery DISK.  Its a driver disc.  Dell is not provided recovery media and hasn't since about 2006.

  I recommend you to get a good SHOW of 16 or more USB Flash drive and make a usb boot DBAR flash recovery.

  Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

  If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

  You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer case will determine which Edition is installed.

  Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Panel, remove it and then reinstall iTunes.

  I tried to install XP in my laptop ASUS PRO31jr which currently has Vista Home Premium installed.  I updated the BIOS first and changed the boot on CD/DVD order.  Disk load bunch of drivers, then when it gets to the installation, said he cannot find a previous version of windows installed on the computer and calls for an XP Home edition (full version), or a CD of XP Professional (full version).  The CD I have is XP Professional Academic Edition version 2002.  RHE booklet supplied with the disc seems to indicate that this is the full version, and I successfully used to clean install on XP.  Is the drive of my problem?  I would appreciate a difinative answer if anybody out there knows for sure.  Goodwich.

  If the message "Setup cannot find a previous version of Windows installed on the computer", you have an upgrade version that requires Windows XP Home Edition installation.
