• Help with Essbase 9 and the Java API

  Hi, I am trying to connect to Essbase to a Java desktop app and I'm unable to do so. I need to know if I'm in principle do the right things and if I have the good environment set up.
  
  We have a server with Essbase version 9.3.1. We normally use essbase through the Excel add-in, and I already wrote it Excel applications that can use both the add-in and the Essbase API in VB. Now, I need to connect to Essbase but out of Excel and using the Java API. I have no idea what is APS don't my Essbase administrator.
  
  My request has the following (adapted from a post on this forum)-

  I'm running my app on my computer, not on the Essbase server, and the user name that I use is the same one I use (as a user of Essbase) through the Essbase Addin in Excel, not an admin login.
  
  When I run the application, I get:
  "Cannot connect to the Server.Make provider ensure that access code settings are correct and the server of the provider is running."
  
  Please can you confirm:
  (1) do I need an admin login for my client application to connect to the Essbase server or can I use a dial-up connection in normal play, like the one I use in Excel?
  (2) is the same provider regardless of the computer, i.e. "http://localhost:13080/aps/JAPI '; How can I know what this could be? Where can I get this information?
  (3) how can I make sure that the server is running the server needed 'provider', it's just a service that appears on the server services.msc? What should I ask the Essbase administrator for him to tell me what I need?

  Leo,

  You have APS and Shared Services running on your server? It would be the first question to answer. If you put in the url (http://localhost:13080/aps/JAPI, in your program) in a browser, you get a generic APS screen, or you get an error "page is not available. Unless you connect to APS that is running on the same computer that is running your Java application, the section 'localhost' should be the name of your APS Server.

  (1) for this Java program, you connect just to read only access that ID is OK
  (2) the supplier would be the same for every customer. The provider is the URL of your APS Server. Unless you run in embedded mode, you must APS to connect with the Essbase server. In embedded mode, you talk with the Essbase server, see [this thread | http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3314485?].

  (3) APS - Analytic Provider Services, I'm not sure what it would show on a Windows Server. I suppose it would be something on Hyperion System 9 Analytic Provider Services. If you have installed APS, I would try the embedded road because it's the only way you will get to work.

  Hey,.

  Not sure if this is the right section on the forum:

  I was wondering if there was a way to retrieve data from an XML page.

  For example, I want to create a BBApp that can request a XML page and once it has loaded to extract all of the appropriate fields and load them into a graphical user interface - without actually loading the page, basically I just want to create demand and get the XML Source Code and mine through this XML Source data.

  Hi Eva,

  This can easily be done in a BlackBerry Widget.  You will use the built in support of AJAX and the XMLHttpRequest object.

  You can retrieve the contents of the XML file via an AJAX call.  When it returns can then access the property of '.responseXML' which has already crawled your XML DOM document.  Just to make sure to whitelist the domain in the config.xml file to allow access to that external resource.  There are a bunch of samples and videos that explain this concept.

  You would then just browse XML and create your HTML code to reflect your data and insert it into the page.  A good tutorial on AJAX can be found here:

  Now for some advice

  If you are recovering data and then display as Web content within a widget, I would really recommend format of that content on the server in its HTML markup before sending it to your Widget in the AJAX request.  The reason why I recommend this is that there is a lot of manipulation of the DOM creating HTML nodes if you look at the raw XML data that is returned.

  If you flip it over already in HTML server-side, you can simply replace an item on your web page using innerHTML.  On a device mobile, if you can offload the work to a server it certainly helps performance.

• What groups safety and licensing for developers and the bulk API?

  I am currently working on the API integration in bulk of our SaaS product to Eloqua customer instance.  General requirements include read a list of contact lists and then adding/setting day of Contacts in a list.  They sent us a list of groups of security and licensing options and asked us to the API user account and a user account temporary developer/Tester (check that data arrives intact in Eloqua).  Here's what I assumed from documentation and the discussions here, but someone can tell me if this is correct?

  User of the API (permanent)

  Required permissions: "Everyone," "Users of the API," "user - Marketing base" (to access Contacts or 'Advanced users - Marketing' if "custom objects" access?)

  License: no

  Temporary interactive user to developer/Tester

  Required permissions: "Everyone", "Basic Marketing - users" (and, possibly, 'Advanced users - Marketing' if "custom objects" access?)

  License: Eloqua Marketing Platform

  The other element that I see referenced in the code examples is the specifier "site" or "instance".  What format does it take, and where I can tell the client to search for it in their console Eloqua?

  Hi Richard,

  Let's simplify things a bit...

  For the use of the API (one of them!), you should have User API and Marketing advanced - users.  This warranty covers the basics.

  Licensing should only come into play for things as endpoints to deliver.

  Until the 'site' or 'instance', it is the simple name of the company and is when the user connects to Eloqua.

• InDesign, export XML and the Task FORCE

  As a producer of a weekly, I need advice as to generate xml from Indesign CC (Mac) data standards NITF, at the choice of my digital Distributor. This includes dividing an article - that can be formatted in single text - in two equal elements: one for the title, signature, etc. and one for the body of the text. Is it possible to do without altering the original route, intended for printing? I would rather not have to break an image into two just for this purpose - for each article in the newspaper. In short: an image, an ACE, maybe two items, the head and the body? There is no shortage of advice around xml, nor on the NITF standard for dress news, but I have yet to find the one dealing with both. Thanks in advance.

  If I understand correctly, you just need to label the elements properly. To use a simple example, if I have a single image of text that contains a header and body text, I would create two tags, one for the title and one for the body. Then, I select the heading and apply the tag title and made similarly to the body. When you export to xml format, you will have two items with the title tag and the other with the body tag.

  I am ignorant as to the requirements of the Task FORCE, and so you need anew XSLT to perform on the exported XML file that would comply with the standard. I do not know because I am not aware of it. This part, if necessary I would do in an xml editor or a good text editor who may be able to it's needs.

  Hello

  You can get the config cache that was read by recovering of the ConfigurableCacheFatory (which you can get the CacheFactory) by getConfig(). See:

  There is no way to get the real XmlDocument object in the cluster that is played for the config-cluster (if you could open the same way yourself).

  Good then I am using PowerCLI to do Automation more boring tasks that need to be repeated. But now I'm stuck because I do not understand how to enter commands in the window PowerCLI and creating XML scripts that are called by a manually scheduled task.

  Is there training there or good articles on how to go to the manual entry of orders from command line and in scripts development of really?

  Looks like you added the config url entry in the wrong place in the config file, so it fails to analyze. Looking at the diagram of the Beehive netui config, the elements in the netui-config element must be in the following sequence:

  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

  So "url-config" should come before "iterator-factories" and after 'jsp-tag-config' in the config file.

  How are you all. Well, I'm new to Flex. But I started to build simple applications. One of the best most problem I face in working with XML and the button. Can you please help me in this. I explain my problem:

• Force display the top menu and the scrubber in Adobe Content Viewer?

  I have problems to display the top menu and scrubbing machines (see below), regardless of where I tap on the screen, it does not appear. I think it has something to do with most of my pages by having a web site with overlay. How can I fix it? Or y at - there a way to force this top menu/scrubber? A button for < a navto://topmenu > would be great

  

  You must provide space on the page somewhere that the reader can draw to bring it. If your HTML content supports the entire screen and uses gestures then the drive will not be able to raise the bar. It is, unfortunately, no way to set it explicitly html off.

  Note that we have addressed this in the next generation of Digital Publishing Solution (aka DPS 2015). Depending on your project, you might want to try the beta and the new APIs, we have for authors of HTML content that give you control over gestures and when our chrome shows full.

  Referring to the above link and more precisely the following statement ' VMware ESXi 3.5u4 has just been launched and the internal API seems to have been fixed and exposed VI API will have only read-only access when you use the version of ESXi license.

  I did some playing with 3.5u4 ESXi and use the VI Toolkit to connect to the host of 3i. I have been unable to stop the ESXi host as it gives me the error "fault. RestrictedVersion.summary ".

  I understand the question (see this link fault. RestrictedVersion.summary).

  My question is how can I pay for that to work (which agents do I need to buy).

  In my scenario (small client under 15 users), I have a server terminal server in physics and I want to implement SBS on a box of 3i. I want to be able to issue a stop command to the area of 3i of the terminal server using the VI toolkit.

  So I'm able to buy an agent / license to allow write access to the API?

  My first thoughts were:

  • I need to purchase a license to host VirtualCenter for this box of 3i.

  • Then, he would be more free and I was able to 'write' API?

  • I guess on the SBS box, I wouldn't need to install virtual center, just the license service so I got somewhere to point the box of 3i in a location of license

  • VirtualCenter can be provided as a serial number or the host license?

  Any ideas or suggestions?

  I like the VI Toolkit to be able to issue the shutdown command, in turn will stop the VM guest for me.

  At least you need the Foundation license which includes vCenter. Which will give you full access r/w to the VI API, this limited restriction applies only to the free version of ESXi, you are aware of.

• Trouble accessing the dynamic XML of the API with a CFC
