There was none no warning, no message on the cleaning of the filter (which is not dirty, I checked). It is just off. It is about 1 year and 9 months.   Found the problem. Bad power cord. Here's how I narrowed down. Hope this helps someone.

So I re-sitting lamp and coverage and the LED on / Standby came for a few minutes and then went. So I waved the power cord slowly and the LED would come and turns off intermittently. Once I used a different cord, the project has worked well.

  Ok.. what I've done

  On XP (in this case in a parallels VM) I uninstalled all the blackberry related to software give me a clean slate.

  I HAVE NOT installed the Desktop Manager.

  Ran

  /NoJVM loader.exe and select 'next' when he said peripheral unknown

  There is no half feel, though... but that's ok, as it then had a '507' whitescreen reboot loop!

  He saw that the serial number so just followed the instructions on the screen

  battery remaining in all the time as it was the sim card.

  OK, I found a workaround solution - with a caveat.

  The xHCI driver is apparently in conflict with something that causes chaos when the laptop tries to transition from sleep to Hibernate with the lid closed.

  This is definitely a bug that should be fixed! Acer needs to work with Microsoft to find the problem and fix it.

  If you go into the BIOS settings (reboot and press F2) and disable xHCI.

  The USB ports will return to PCI mode. All USB ports are working, even if I think they are USB 2.0, not 3.0

  Now the power level can be set to sleep when the lid is closed and it will cause a transition to Hibernate when appropriate!
