• reclassification of jinitiator in SUN JRE and question about Workflow

  I have a couple of questions really related to the workflow, then maybe wrong forum, but I'll start here.
  I'm upgrading of our 11.5.10.2 configuration to use jinitiator to SUN JRE and have a few questions.
  
  1. one of the patches I must apply '3865683' a ' step 11, run the program simultaneous Workflow Directory service Validation user/role. (Required) ".
  -problem is I don't know much about WF and don't really know what that means or what options to provide
  
  2. in my Test environment, which is a clone of Prod my shippers Notification and Service components are falling and yet once, I work in the how to correct this.
  I don't know if it's the result of my clone process or the upgrade steps that I lived to reach from jinitiator SUN JRE.
  So my concern is when I do this prod if it interrupts the flow of work or if it is simply due to the clone process.

  The simple answer and support is 'no '. 6863618 patch is a patch of request (must be applied using adpatch), and it will update the files of application/database layer, in order to restore the database files only is not enough because it would make your incompatible application with the database.

• Print with APEX and EBS

  Hi gurus
  I have sucessfully integrated APEX with EBS, do a lot of reports on data from BSE.
  These reports are visible on the screen, but now I need a paper printed some of them.
  After having read a lot of literature, I realized that I need a print as BI Publisher server.
  I'm not sure but I think that EBS uses a similar architecture for printing, with a print server actually generate output.
  Is this correct? If that is correct, can I use the EBS for APEX printing print server? How can I do?
  
  I use APEX 3.2 and EBS 11.5.10

  EBS has a version of BI publisher, but previous assignments, it was noted that the version of bi publisher integrated with EBS is NOT a version that runs with the integration of the APEX...

• Integration of safety of BI applications and EBS

  Our client asks us to implement following features:
  
  • Users, passwords and groups of users (responsibilities) are stored in EBS
  • A user can connect directly to OBIEE
  • When the user enters their credentials, OBIEE checks against them EBS and EBS, gets the list of groups the user (responsibilities)

  Unless I'm mistaken (which is quite possible :) then you cannot connect directlyOBIEE, go again via EBS so that the session ID can be passed through to OBIEE for when it made its authentication against BSE.)

  I'm having some problem with the JRE, the following are details.

  Oracle EBS: 12.2.4

  Internet Explorer: 11.0.9600.17631

  Windows: 8.1 (64)

  Now the problem is, the forms are not loaded in the browser.

  The default page while trying to open a form is telling to install file: oaj2se.exe which does not work.

  also I can use firefox (37.0.2) or chrome (42.0.2311.152 m) for EBS.

• EMI includes older JRE and MySQL versions with known vulnerabilities?

  Cisco IME experts,

  I just installed IME and noticed that it includes an older version of MySQL 2009-vintage that has known security vulnerabilities.  It also uses a private JRE version which is pretty old (1.6u7, IIRC).  I would use IME, but I have to meet strict safety requirements, and these vulnerable versions of bundled products will raise red flags.  Can I remove the private JRE file and modify the .ini files to point to the 1.6u23 WHAT JRE installed on the system?  MySQL version can be upgraded to > = v5.1.52, or can you explain why it is not a threat to the security of the system?  Certainly, the system running IME is within a protected network, but we try to apply the principles of defense in depth, and attacks can sometimes come from insiders with a flash drive or a CD.  Thanks for your answer in advance!

  IME 7.1.1 will include JRE 1.6u23.  We do not support any change to IME as replacing the JRE, as you suggested.

  We entered a bug to make sure that we update the database on a calendar so as they may be updated periodically.  The bug is CSCtn26880.

  We believe that the current version of MySQL is not a threat to the security of the system for several reasons:

  -The server is configured to accept only local connections.

  -There is no default admin login.

  -The admin password is unique for each facility and is not available for the user.

  However, security can be improved by installing a box of Win 7, given that only admin users will have access to the IME files. This will be available when Windows 7 is supported in IME 7.1 (1).

  IME 7.1.1 is expected this month - maybe - even this week.

• What the implementation of plans to choose for 7.9.6.4 BIApps and EBS 12.1.3?

  We have installed OBI 11.1.1.7.0 with biapps 7.9.6.4 (vanilla imported metadata and integration work DAC/Informatica) successfully. We are approved for these modules:

  • Purchases and spend analytics Fusion Edition
  • Human resources Analytics Fusion Edition
  • Supply chain and order Analytics Fusion edition management
  • Edition of Fusion financial analytics

  The source system is EBS 12.1.3

  We want to start testing some of the ETLs DAC, but we don't know which ones to choose from a long list of execution plans. Can someone provide links to the documentation or other sources of knowledge that explain that DAC implementation plans correspond to what above Application modules?

  By default execution plans will be there... but you need to create a system of source container, after the creation of container assemble these disciplines and create an implementation plan for each module you have four modules... then create four execution plans and produces parameters and build execution plans and run.   I have a problem, in fact my app that runs on 200 + user with jinitiator. Some computer os is now Windows 7 so I need to change the jinitiator with jre. But this is not a simple task to update all the client computer. Can I update my formweb.cfg

  I don't see why not. You can create a config entry as much as you want at formsweb.cfg.

• Domain name for the IP and EBS r12 changed the configuration

  domain name shown above is old it is changed. name of domain and IP is changed no host name.

  Note: 338003.1 - how to change the host name or port of the database layer using automatic configuration
  Note: 341322.1 - how to change the hostname of a stream of Applications using automatic configuration

  Additionally, make sure that you clean the FND_NODES table according to the (how clean non-existent nodes or addresses IP of FND_NODES [260887.1 ID]).

  I am a new bie BIEE. In those days, have a look at the POET architecture and BIEE components. In the next project, there is some work on the development of POET based on request of the EBS. I have a few questions about integration:
  
  (1) generally, the POET application and database server is decentralized with application and database EBS? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?
  
  (2) in the POET administration tool, the first step is to create arrays of physics. If the source application is EBS, is it still necessary to create the physical tables?
  
  (3) if the physical creation of tables is needed, how to transfer data from the source of BSE BIEE physical tables tables? What ETL tool is preferred for most of developers? generator for warehouse or Oracle data integration?
  
  (4) during the data transfer phase, there are many many large data to transfer, how to keep the entire? for example, it must transfer 1 million lines of source to physical tables BIEE database, when 50% is completed, users try to open the POET report, they can see the new data of 50% on the reports? is there some transaction in phase control ETL?
  
  could someone give some pointers for me? I am very appreciated if you can also provide any other information.

  You shud look at OBI request here that uses OBIEE as a tool for reporting with pre-built modules. 10g & 11g comes with different versions of the applications of BI that supports sources such as Siebel CRM, EBS, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards, etc...

  His independent of any source. It comes to OBIEE modeling to create the RPD with all the layers. If you build from scratch, then you will need to create all layers else if BI Apps is used so you can get pre-built RPD and other pre-designed components.

  BI apps comes with ETL pre-built mapping to use with the tools majorly with Informatica. Only applications BI 7.9.5.2 comes with ODI, but oracle has the intention of having only ODI for any other versions.

  User will see still old data because its good enable Cache and serving it after each load.

  I'm trying to follow http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf to set up a link from APPS to APEX using jsp route and end up with an error. I can see why but don't know how to fix:
  
  Here's what I have so far:
  
  1 - apex (4.0.2.00.07) installed next to the Oracle APPS 12.1.1
  2 - apex configured with the latest version of Weblogic
  3 - Creating Apex simple report as a public page requiring not just any journal in info
  4 - the report is available on the page framework APPS using personalization and after URL: http://myserver.com:7021/apex/f? p = 104:1:
  5 - LaunchApex.jsp created and compiled without error in document - removed /pls/ to match with the url above.
  6 created the custom system - level = http://myserver.com:7021 site profile.
  7 created the function using jsp SSWA, CALL HTML = LaunchApex.jsp [is it enough?], forms/parameters = [left blank - no effect if I add something here]-don't know where to place the settings id numbers and request page?
  8. added the function as a set additional menu item in place the user with responsibilities
  9 - when click on the newly added item, I see the following URL: http://myserver.com:7021/apex/f? p = NONE: 1::APPS: which clearly lacks the id of the application (104) and page number (1).
  
  As well as the following error:
  
  While waiting for the cookie p_company or wwv_flow_company to contain the id of the owner of the application security group.
  Error ERR-7620 could not determine the workspace for application ().

• Using OBA for 2 sources (Siebel and EBS)

  We have OBIA for EBS - supply chain in place (with a certain custom) and it is already in Production. Now, we are implementing OBIA for Siebel.
  
  Thus, for the first time, we expect run a FULL extract of Siebel. Then, we noticed that the two system uses a table of commom (such as W_PRODUCT_D). Unfortunally, we on EBS, every product and price list. On Siebel, we have same information replicated.
  If we run a FULL clip, we will lose the EBS product data, I guess. But if we run an additional excerpt, I think we will produce duplicate on the W_PRODUCT_D. Is this right?
  
  How is the best way to work?

  With regard to the RPD:

  I'm not completely sure if you need to change the SPR...

  If you can ensure that users will always report on a combination of dimensions with facts, there is no need to filter on datasource_num. It is because all responsible facts of Siebel will be related to dimension values responsible for Siebel and all responsible facts from eBS will be related to loaded from eBS dimension values. At least, this is how it is supposed to work, please allow sufficient time to test this really well.

  However, ' just to be sure"you can create filters to model business in security groups so that all"Siebel-users"will see the Siebel data and vice versa.

  With regard to the CAD:

  I think that the most ideal would be to combine all the disciplines to be load in an execution Plan. This can be done if eBS and Siebel extraction can be achieved in the same time interval. In this way, the staging tables will fill in 1 or 2 sources, but the SILOS mappings should only be run once.

  With regard to the most interesting things (scenario 1 ;))):

  You will need a unique identifier of a product / other who is present in the two source systems in order to implement the correspondence in the BAW. Please do not use the literal comparissons on names etc. Once you have this identifier, you can change the LKP operators in fact mapplets and/or reusable LKP operators to use this identifier to retrieve the wid of the dimension, instead of integration_id and datasource_num.

• Need information about the licenses on DB and EBS

  I have a few questions regarding licenses in Oracle. And will appreciate the supporting by the Oracle Doc for reference.

  My DB version is 11.2.0.3 and the Oracle eBusiness Suite version 12.1.3.

  1. we bought 100 NUP for DB. However, when I checked with the following query:

  Select * from dba_users where account_status = 'OPEN '.

  The list of users exceed 236 (Note its an ERP instance), where the number of users we have created by me is just 4-5. Others came to OPEN by default (including system, dbsnmp, sysman etc.).  They should be counted in the licenses that they are installed before users?

  2. I have observed that some users dba open are for modules that we do not use. Can they be locked safely? [For example.] IPD, user of the LEAGUE]

  3. Select * from fnd_user where End_date is NULL; give me a count of 69 users, which users created by us are about 20 and we bought licenses approximately 40.  We need to have licenses for the rest 29 as well?

  4. we realized that it might be necessary to add the virtual machine additional JAVA in oacore (now 2), we need to have separate licenses for this (oacore, oc4j, Association etc.)?

  I have tried to find some references in the meantime and will appreciate if you have some references of loans.

  I use JDK1.6.0 update 17.
  
  Version 2.1.0.63.73 works very well.
  I ran 1.5.5.59.69 and pointed java.exe successfully.
  
  Now, when I try to run 1.5.5.59.69:
  -I see the splash screen
  -I see the 'Associations of Type file to configure' and click on the OK button
  -C' is she! Nothing happens and no error message is shown.
  
  I extracted the installation files to several times, but the problem persists.
  I noticed that the windows for sqldeveloper.exe process is a memory very consume: 120 MB.

  You could try to backup/delete the SQL Developer/systemXXX directory in the Application of hidden data (data of programa ;)) under your Windows profile to reset your installation.
