15-af148ca HP: HP 15-af148ca win 10 downgrade for win 7

My brand new HP 15-af148ca laptop came with preloaded Windows 10, but I feel more comfortable with Windows 7. The problem is that HP does not support this model with Windows 7 drivers. Is it possible to use the similar HP product drivers for this model?

Note: If the touch screen is the only problem I can live without it

Thanks in advance

Hello:

You should be able to use the W7 x 64 drivers and software (except the graphic files switchable BIOS, Firmware, Chipset and Intel/AMD) on your model.  The chipset and AMD/Intel swichable graphics drivers do not belong on this support page.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-af000-notebook-PC-series-(touch) / 7777397/model/8341292

The only other driver, you would need that I can think of that is not on this support page (or any page from HP support for any model of material based on AMD series) is the AMD Chipset driver.

You do not want to install the driver from the 1st on the list from the link below.

http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows%207%20-%2064

Because HP does not support your model of W10, there is no 100% guarantee, that everything will work, so if you want to experiment with W7, make sure that you create your recovery media set before installing W7.

The Recovery Manager program likely will no longer work after the installation of W7, so you will need the recovery media.

If you do install W7 64 bit and struggling to find a driver or two, please let me know what drivers you need, and I'll be happy to try to help out you.

Shows a list of parts for your laptop that is comes with a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1 x 1 Wi - Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 m2 combination adapter WLAN, you need these drivers wireless and bluetooth for this card.

The package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers and utility which are required to enable the LAN adapter wireless Broadcom integrated into laptops supported that run an operating system supported.

File name: sp70888.exe

Bluetooth:

FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp73001-73500/sp73091.exe

To install and run W7, you must change a setting in the BIOS.

Windows 7 is not compatible with secure startup.

Check out this guide for the parameter to be modified.

    Hello

This theme has been discussed here many times.
It s a general problem with Windows XP!
If you n t install the patches MS as KB888111, KB835221 and then you would not get the sound.

You must install these cites patched before install you the audio driver!

If the driver has been installed you must remove it first before the patches are installed.

PS: This MS patches are part of the SP3 too!

  • Satellite Pro A120 - no image on external projector

Do you have a downgrade for win XP on Satellite Pro A120.

If I connect to an external projector I no longer get a picture of it. I tried the shortcut key and it will turn off the picture on the LCD screen of the laptop so the keyboard shortcut works, more also tried manually via the graphic properties.

The only time where an image of the projector that I have spend is when I restart, in which case, on reboot, I get a picture on the projector, but not the laptop. Then, when I try to switch to hot key or graphic accessories I can go back to the laptop but then can't get back the image of the projector on.
If I leave the projector image and do not a hot key switch as soon as I make a stop the stop then displayed on both devices.
I reinstalled the display driver and the drivers from the chipset, but without success.

    Can anyone help?

  • Memory card readers do not show in Windows 7

I just upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and now I can't view memory card reader drives in Manager of devices or Windows Explorer. Also one of CD burners two (one that isn't R - W) does not appear. I tried the HP site for downloads without result. What should I do to regain the use of these devices? I have the original system recovery disks; I get them from? They are compatible with Windows 7?

    Not a problem, Willie.

To some people would say you downgraded for Win 7, but I completely agree that you upgraded.  The problem is exactly what you are experiencing.  Among the components of Vista cannot function probperly with Win 7.

Here's what I want you to try:

First of all, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    1. click on the 'Start' button, enter "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter." If necessary, click on "continue".

    2. in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

    3. Repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

Please click on "BRAVO", if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Satellite L300-1DN: upgrade or downgrade options

    Hello

I'll be looking into the options of upgrade or downgrade for this laptop because of the General Vista slow compared to the other Windows operating systems.

Have Vista Home Premium SP2, they seek to alter the operating system. Now that Windows 7 is out I'm looking in a few options. Decided to leave the existing system only and remove the original HARD disk while testing - this I'll definitely do it because I can't afford mistakes on an upgrade in case something goes wrong.

If the option is to make one of the following values, after buying a new drive HARD similar to tests:

    1. install the operating system throughout the Toshiba recovery disks. I bought Windows 7 Pro (full version), but I'm not sure that it would work as an upgrade to Vista Home Premium? Otherwise, I would buy the Win 7 Home Premium Upgrade (other expenses).

    + or +.

2 do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro

    + or +.

3 do a clean install of Windows XP Edition family

Looking at the drivers and the installation problem, how complex it will be for (2) or (3) above - how easy it will be to install these drivers or is there something available that allows to accelerate the process, rather than making this driver by one of your download site?

What do you think the route recommended now?

    Hello

After installing Windows 7, you need to install the drivers all currents like graphics, WLAN/LAN, audio driver, driver etc.
It is the same procedure as installing Win XP or Vista. There is no major differences

Usually, drivers Win 7 should be available on the European driver Toshiba page.
If there is no published driver Win 7 then you have to wait for it or will have to use some drivers Win 7 of the Toshiba page we

  • Digital Persona fingerprint reader

I have a HDX 18 t. It came with windows vista x 64 and I have upgraded to windows 7 x 64. After the upgrade the integrated digital persona fingerprint reader is no longer in effect. The fingerprint reader is not detected. I tried to uninstall, reinstall and update the drivers. Currently, I have the latest version of the software for the installed fingerprint (4.11.3826) reader. The icon for the fingerprint reader has 'x' on it which indicates that the drive is not detected.

I've already sent to the post:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/operating-systems-and-software/DigitalPersona-validity-fingerprint-and-...

I followed the instructions for part A on install fingerprint driver digital validity and the DigitalPersona Personal software. However, after my computer restarted, a message appeared and said: "the fingerprint reader could not be detected. Reinstall it using the recovery of applications and drivers disk provided with your system. »

Previously, I tried unistalling digital persona completely and reinstall it from the driver and application recovery disk. However, this does not work any more.

I think the recovery disk does not work because it was made for windows vista. The only way (at least AFAIK), I was able to successfully use this disc would be to reinstall vista and then reinstall the driver and application recovery disk. However I would no longer have windows 7 which I've already paid for.

I also tried to contact Digital Persona about the issue online, I had no great success however.

If someone can tell me at least who can help me, I would be very happy. I tried several different solutions many times, and it becomes frustrating. I just want to use the fingerprint reader that's installed in my computer. I want to keep windows 7, so I won't downgrade for the fingerprint reader. This problem persisted for several months now and I want to be treated.

I have enough confidence in my computer skills to be able to follow the instructions given for me online, but I am not above having a technician help me. So if it's necessary I would force quickly. The only thing I want to avoid shipping my computer anywhere since I use everyday to school.

I apologize for the length of the post. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

After many days a lot of work, I finally found the solution for VFS301 of a validity sensor works with Digital Persona on Win 7 64 bit because it is supposed to.

NOT the drivers INSTALL WBF all sites or drivermax... These drivers allow only logging in Win7 and no website, sign in.

    (1) first of all UNINSTALL all software and the DDK (Driver validity)...

Make sure that also go to the control panel =>-online Validity Sensor Device Manager

UNINSTALL the sensor and check "erase the software driver for this device.

    (2) then make sure you REBOOT

    (3) DOWNLOAD and install validity of HP drivers

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp48501-49000/sp48509.exe

    (4) REBOOT AGAIN... it is important

    (5) Download Digital Persona worm 4.11.3805 the link below

    http://d11tvxmfjhi64o.CloudFront.net/x64/Setup.exe

    (This file is taken from)

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/HP-Compaq-Voodoo-PC/404164-drivers-HP-DV6-Gen-2-dv7-Gen-3-DV8-HDX16-HDX18-Intel.html)

    (6) RUN the Setup.exe

When it asks to install the driver for the fingerprint reader (the first dialog box you get when you run setup.exe)

    DO NOT click on INSTALL

Let the installation window because it is...

    (7) open the Explorer windows by pressing win + E

    8) go to

    \AppData\Local\Temp\usernameC:\Users\

Click the "Update" column to sort the latest updated files first in the list

    You will have a folder with {05B54AFA-28C6-4FED-A0E6-3F235641DA1D}<============= example="" only="" it="" will="" be="" different="" on="" your="">

Go to the folder and you will see some ini files with a file named 'drivers.prq fingerprint reader.

Open "fingerprint reader drivers.prq" in notepad.exe

Delete all lines of text in the file 'fingerprint reader drivers.prq' and save the empty file.

    (9) back to the Digital Persona installation dialog box referred to in point 6

Now, click on INSTALL and let it install the software

He will open the same file again and continue with the installation...

When it asks to RESTART, click YES

    (10) after the REBOOT, the fingerprint reader works without a hitch.
