Otherwise the users of these extensions will be GROUND come out of Firefox 44. Mozilla has already made back the version in which this new security feature should be activated from Firefox 40 to 44. I can record is more than all of the new bookmarks after update to Firefox 40.0.2.
I have over 1000 bookmarks and also use xMarks.
I tried to remove 5 bookmarks and save a new bookmark, but it does not work.
When I click on the bookmark star, stars in the bookmarks folder jumps, but does not record, it does not offer the possibility of filing in the subfolder right it me and the star is not awarded (there should be one filled with stars when the Web site is updated bookmark)

Thank you for your help. I tried the maintenance of places without success. I have disabled xMarks, but it made no difference, I couldn't save all new bookmarks. I went on the site help above and deleted the "places.sqlite" file and recreates a new file, but it didn't work. I uninstalled Firefox full using IOBit Uninstaller and reinstalled, but I found this program does not delete the profile folder (used to have a checked during uninstall of Firefox, but it seems to have disappeared in the latest versions). The problem persisted.

Finally, I took a screenshot of all my addons. Then, I uninstalled Firefox again, then delete the entire folder profiles (located very usefully described in the second link above https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Bookmarks+not+saved#w_fix-the-bookmarks-file )
I reinstalled Firefox, reinstalled xMarks and connected and transferred all my favorites, I reinstalled all my previous addons and ALTO - it now everything works perfectly!

  • 36 Firefox updated bookmarks are gone! Help!

Somehow FF updated on me, it's now version 36.0 and ALL MY BOOKMARKS AND HISTORY ARE GONE!

It is a huge problem, I need them back, please help!

The xxxx in the file name bookmarks part-#-#-# _xxxx_$ $$ .json refers to the number of bookmarks in the file, this file has 213 bookmarks, including folders and separators.
The file is in a format special compressed compressed .jsonlz4 and the only way to see what is in the file is to restore the file, possibly in another profile, because restoring a JSON backup replaces all current bookmarks.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

  • Images are the scale is no longer with (img {max-width: 100% ;}) css from the 34.0.5 in firefox update, it still works fine in IE and chrome.})

My site was working fine up until firefox updated 34.0.5. Now the images will not scale to fit the box more. I use flexbox so that the site is changing to adapt to the size of the browser. In css, I set img {max-width: 100% ;} and this would make the jpg file size automatically to fit the area they were in, but no more than Mozilla really screwed up this with updated 34.0.5.} My site still works fine with IE and Chrome, but 70% of my web traffic using firefox so I would really like this to work in firefox.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I work by setting a special parameter in CSS for the images that I needed to scale and then I have it referenced by SPAN for each img in HTML, not quite how I wanted it to work since now images filling the box even with monitors really big format, which means that they could now be blurred on a 4 k monitor but firefox left me no choice. Looks like I have going to aid in future chrome like firefox really shit the bed on this 34.0.5 updated

  • FireFox update erases the original settings and shoots IE settings instead

I had considered moving away from Internet Explorer and Firefox will like our default browser to the company that I am administrator for. If I place a test configuration Firefox user like I wanted and then reconfigure IE to turn it off effectively. However, a disturbing event has consider me otherwise. My test user received an update for Firefox and updating pulled all the configuration information of IE rather than preserve the existing installation of Firefox. So essentially it disabled FireFox as well. I really don't want to disable updates, but I certainly don't want to go around and re - configure each of my 140 machines every time Firefox did an update. We also run web applications must have and relys on an older version of java. Even though I know that the latest version is preferred these apps simply do not work with them. Firefox in his infinite wisdom during an update disables my old version of java break my applications. I like FireFox, but I simply don't have time to micro - manage this piece of software. He must keep all settings for the installation of the original version. Is it possible to configure Firefox to do what I want to do it during an update instead of what he wants to do. I thought the software was supposed to make our lives more easy not bogg down day support run fixing fubars FireFox. If Firefox wants an alternative to IE, then it must be a step better. The reason why I want to move from IE, it's that I don't just have time to deal with daily issues due to updates. If Firefox is an alternative browser why it relies on IE to get its parameters.

    BOURNAC

Hi rbowman there, I can understand how this topic is. Looks like you have configured Firefox on one or two computers. It also seems that you went with the normal version of Firefox. When you first configure Firefox it asks if you want to make settings, history, etcetera. In my opinion, what he does after an update too. Fear in the ordinary. If the employee a right to say yes I want that all my stuff from IE, and we know how that worked. Firefox made a version for the admin of TI. 'S called it Firefox extended support. This allows you to manage the settings and all that an admin would have to do without going to a computer. I recommend you try this. Hope that this time, he's better.

  • My windows 8.1 does not work with the new Firefox update. It worked before the upgrade. How can I fix it?

After Firefox updated itself automatically, Firefox would not work. I couldn't go online on Firefox because it doesn't open at all. The old Firefox worked.

You may have seen this article during the process to submit your question, but just in case:

Are you familiar with Windows Task Manager? It allows to determine whether Firefox is present in memory and to cease so that you can try to start again.

To access the Task Manager, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc. You will need to approve the program to make changes to your system. The 'Applications' tab usually has an entry for every visible window. I guess that Firefox will not be there, but if it is and you do not see the window, it's a different problem.

The "Process" tab will list firefox.exe if Firefox is running in memory, or if it has started and stalled. If it is just sitting there, click it, and then use it button end process to kill him.

Then, try to start Firefox in Safe Mode. It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

A small dialog box should appear. In the dialog box, click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

    Does it work?

  • I don't have the rights to install the Firefox update, what do I do?

I have firefox 15 and expected to rise to 25 (?), downloaded it, but can't drag the icon above applications because I get the message that I don't have the rights for this product...

If he has problems with the update or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a fresh install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the file to disk on the desktop image

Your personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other data to personal when you uninstall and (re) install Firefox.

  • After the 24 Firefox update, Windows 7 64-bit breaks on reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle stopped).

After 24 of Firefox update, Windows 7 breaks after the reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle on the wireless network icon). But I can't do much. I can't open the network and sharing Center (never opened). Even the Task Manager hangs when I click to show processes from all users. I have to do a system restore for a network working again. I never even launched Firefox.

Wow... I finally have the solution. Windows updates have been applied at the same time I updated Firefox. Bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, Windows Update, and then update Firefox... and all is well.

I thank very you much for all your help. Take care.

You can drag links to the private browsing window (hover the icon on the task bar for this update of the Firefox window).

If you drop the link on an empty space on the tab bar, then the link should open in a new tab.
