  Yes, I heard about that with some installations of Mac OS X 10.9 and 10.10 OS x. What do you have? No current solution but please file a bug report and I'll look into it more deeply when I return to the office on Monday.

  I have advised others to disable thumbnail if it's really slow down your workflow.

• Problem of QuickTime movies.

  For some time, I am to be affected by the unrest with quicktime. Everything works fine until the quicktime movies are starting to show himself black, or a warning pop ups, claiming that the quicktime is corrupt.   You can install QuickTime without the drive component and who should avoid security problems. (More details here).

• Quicktime MOV alpha channel

  I made on a 3D logo in 3D for a quicktime movie program and had put my background on the rendered file to be a transparent alpha channel. Once I import MOV 3D logo in first elements, add to my calendar, choose picture, choose alpha set I expect there will be a selection to use the alpha channel so that background goes out to reveal the clip below.

  Nope. He did give me a slider to set the alpha that disappears the entire clip and the 3D logo fades as well. I don't understand!

  In first pro demo all I had to do was put the 3D MOV in the timeline, check that I wanted to use the clips alpha and bingo! The background is off to reveal the clip below. Simple.

  Chroma keying is not an option because the 3D logo has many shades of colors.

  If your program's output and MOV with true alpha channel, you will not have to key to all of this.

  The transparent areas will all be simply transparent. I do it all the time with the video of After Effects.

  I am producing a training video for short-term work.  I created my entire movie in iMovie ' 09 and she had desperately need a few arrows and text in order to clarify some more technical aspects.  I've exported as a Quicktime from iMovie file and imported in Ps CS4 extended.

  After having finished the mounting, I chose to export my video, once again as a Quicktime movie.

  The export is complete, and when I went to see my movie, he was extremely nervous.  Watch the online time on the bottom of the Quicktime screen, I noticed that he was jumping in several intervals of seconds.  The audio sounds like normal, but kept the video freeze and interference.

  I tried to re - export the video with Quicktime Animation settings, and Frames Per Second to know.

  I just installed a 40 GB to 80 GB hard drive and installed all the drivers in the correct order, as indicated by toshiba. Everything works well except the used for Quicktime .mov files. All I get is audio but no image - other than a colorful blur screen!

  I think I've isolated the problem to the graphics driver. Whenever I turned off / uninstall the driver dedicated for the graphics card FX 5200 GP (version 4.6.44) Quicktime files work fine. It is only when I installed the dedicated driver problems occur!

  Hello... NB100 Newbie here...

  I had a lot of success so far with my new NB100, and I see that I will be happy with it long term. However, there are a few things that I still need to sort out, and one of them is standard DVD-video playback. So, can someone please give a summary of what needs to be done to achieve normal commercial DVD movies playback on the NB100? I'm guessing it may have need of codecs and other repositories, but here's where I lose myself... I don't know what to choose or how to install some of the things I see out there. Also, I would like to know the opinion of the people in Totem as the playback application? I downloaded and tried mplayer, but it crashes when I try to run it. In terms of hardware, I use an external DVD via USB.

  Hi Tom,

  I think the first thing we do is to try to boot your laptop in safe mode so that you can at least enter the system to run diagnostics more.

  If you can start in safe mode, I would recommend disabling the function "auto restart error" so that your laptop not constantly to restart but will stop and at least allow you to see what is happening.

  The function in the tutorial, I found is the value go up by huge amountswhile, the button is pressed, what I need is a way to have the value go up by units whenever you press the x key.
