Quicktime MOV alpha channel

Hi all.

I made on a 3D logo in 3D for a quicktime movie program and had put my background on the rendered file to be a transparent alpha channel. Once I import MOV 3D logo in first elements, add to my calendar, choose picture, choose alpha set I expect there will be a selection to use the alpha channel so that background goes out to reveal the clip below.

Nope. He did give me a slider to set the alpha that disappears the entire clip and the 3D logo fades as well. I don't understand!

In first pro demo all I had to do was put the 3D MOV in the timeline, check that I wanted to use the clips alpha and bingo! The background is off to reveal the clip below. Simple.

Where is this setting in the elements? Support with built in alpha channels quicktime movies?

Chroma keying is not an option because the 3D logo has many shades of colors.

Any who found the option for this or know of a workaround?

If your program's output and MOV with true alpha channel, you will not have to key to all of this.

The transparent areas will all be simply transparent. I do it all the time with the video of After Effects.

  • Export a clip of move with alpha channel

    Hello

I'm trying to export a displacement of clips with alpha channel.

I'm trying to export an animation with first CS5. I made an animation of a spinning object in Maya and exported in the form of TIFFs with alpha channel. Then they are edited with Photoshop to give them a drop shadow.

My problem is the following. Can I export this animation of tiff with alpha channel?

My plane is to use clips from moving in a background in a game - depending on the outcome, there are different animations playing on top of several different backgrounds. It to the objects must have a transparent alpha on the bottom channel.

Again, the reason for this is the complexity of the game and make the game looking as real as possible. I hope help here to make my plan possible

    .. .thanks

It comes to CS4, but it applies as well to CS5: exporting files video with alpha channels

This reference is mysteriously absent from the CS5 help, but follow these steps and you can export a movie of alpha channel.

  • The alpha channel of delivery images - is there a standard?

I need to provide a logo in 3D with alpha channel of a television station local to a customer and of thought, I would like to ask if there is a standard for this?

I suspect Apple .mov is likely but as a windows user, I never use but have no problem with it.

For lossless I use "UT Video Codec", it's free, fast, and I had good results.  I don't KNOW if I book in this format, it will cause a problem for the other end... call it a hunch.

Call the station.  Ask for technical service.  They will tell you, you can ask on the tray, codec, frame rate more horizontal & vertical resolution.

Now, if he came to MY station, I would accept 1280 x 720, 59,94 FPS, quicktime movies in the Animation codec, with a straight line (i.e. NOT premultiplied) alpha channel.  Stereo audio.

I want to create a video with ss12 which has a transparent alpha channel - to use this video as a logo on a transparent background in other videos.

I tried everything I found, including different video formats (like mov, mp4, mwv) and encoding of the parameters - nothing workes...

So hopefully someone here can help me!

I can't go to Premiere Pro because it's too complicated and I don't have the time to start to learn everthing from scratch once again...

I can't believe that there is no way with the EP to do...

Suppose you have a 1920 x 1080i30 chronology project whose content includes transparency in file (s) and you want to maintain that transparency in export.

with Presets = NTSC DV 16:9 for your HD project

Now under the video tab Advanced tab of this preset, it should look like this

    Please define exactly as above

The bases are set up for Video Codec = Animation and depth = 32 bits. No box next to "restore to a maximum depth.

I just did a run through to go with this screenshot, and transparency in my calendar was maintained in the export of Animation.mov.

This also worked if export setting looked like the following (interlaced instead of progressive)

Please try this one. If it still do not work, then please provide details of your Timeline content, including with transparency.

    Thank you.

  • The Alpha channel is recognized in a motion Menu?

I am trying to use a video from Digital Juice as my animated menu background, but the alpha channel is not recognized.  It shows the black color instead of transparency.  I am compiling in the form of Quicktime with Alpha movie.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Lol you can use a background of movement or the background in the Menu of Photoshop, you can't use both. If you use a background of movement, the Photoshop Menu background is replaced by the video motion, and the buttons are rendered above it.

  • export the video with alpha channel

    Hello

I am brand new with Pro CC first. I completed a sequence where V1 has a series of still images, of small size, so I can see the video clip on the V2 in the background.

I already exported only and it works very well.

I would now like to export the clip on V1 by single with alpha channel so that I could put a different background in a new sequence.

Read and followed the instructions as described in the forum, but they must use something different than what I use (first Pro CC on a laptop with windows 7 Professional), because I do not see the indicated settings.

Once the clip is exported with an Alpha channel, I'll bring Premier Pro and everything just change the background several times so I will gradually in with several different sequences.

How could I accomplish this export with an Alpha channel?

    Thanks for the info.

    Bert

    Hi Bert,.

I think you have your tracks reversed, the stills would be on background on V1 and V2. Of course, if a SINGLE export with alpha and no background, then you can simply use V1 (but later, we clip you made must be V2 or higher to insert background on a bottom rail to show areas of the alpha channel). Export using QuickTime > GoPro 12-bit with Alpha codec.

    Thank you

  • Smaller files with an alpha channel

I made a short video file in After Effects with an alpha channel of several different ways, but I can't to it go below 3 GB. Is it possible to get the smaller file without reducing the quality or the size of the composition? I would like to get the smaller file size to put in the cloud for use in a group project, and / 3GB is not really all that big a file, I have several files with an alpha channel that others need to access.

The smallest file size with an alpha channel that is always the production quality would be a QuickTime JPEG 2000. Set the quality to about 85 to 90%.

  • How to use a black and white AVI as an alpha channel?

Brand new first CC 2015 user here (actually just a user first brand new total), with what is probably a very simple question:

How can I take a clip in black and white and get the Premiere Pro to use as a mask in alpha channel?

Basically, I got three items I want to composite together, each of them their own separate AVI:

    (1) a coin of spinning

    (2) a silhouette of the spinning coin

    (3) a movement background

The animations of the rotation of the piece were made by Bryce 7.1, if this can help, a program that does not know how to incorporate animations alpha channel masks.  I call the "silhouette" as such because it is a completely white room version, turning on a totally black background - perfect for use as an alpha channel, but without the alpha channel information incorporated.  And no matter what I do, I'm not the first to recognize it as such.  Any help would be appreciated.

Put the background on the V1.

Thread the room spinning V2, directly above him.

Put the Silhouette of the coin spinning on V3, just above (and in sync with) V2.

Go to the control panel effects and go to Video Effects > Keying and select the overlay Cache Track effect. Drag it to and apply it to the room turns on V2.

A once applied, click the clip on V2 to select and go in the effect controls panel.

Click the triangle next to the overlay track matte value using Composite matte Luma and the Matte of Video 3. Check the box opposite if necessary to invert the matte.

  • Alpha channel renders in preview, but not in the exported file.

I have a pronounced After effects with Animation codec quicktime video that has an alpha channel.  Looks great play on the timeline in the first cc2014, but when exporting the layer alpha is made black.  I did exactly the same thing several times in previous versions of first without problem.  Is this a known issue with the first?  Is there another way to do that properly renders Media Encoder?

It is a remake of an old video from SD card HD.  So, all this has been done before with success.  Why does cc_2014 not make it properly?

    Thank you.

Problem solved.  I closed the first and Media Encoder and then reopened them and they made the alpha channel properly.

  • formats with alpha channels

Some of our projects created by Adobe AIR to video with alpha channel. We can create impressive effects with it. Is there something format with channel alpha we can change FLV?

It is quite critical for us. There is only one option - previous version using Media Encoder?

Been to another video format that support alpha channels? I know non-compressed MOV can do it, but the very large output files.

If you need FLV files, then use the previous version of Adobe Media Encoder to create.

  • Alpha channel / Media encode a Question

    Hi all

I have a question that I think is just something that I'm on. I have a comp with a logo. The logo is made up of various files and has no experience. Third, it is very similar to a lower. When I make it on at AE through the rendering that I have no problem and the Alpha channel works as expected when they are imported into the BODY. The setting I use is QuickTime > Animation > RGB + Alpha, etc.

This morning I decided I wanted to start rendering through Media Encoder. I watched that video Colin Smith has done a fight a year ago to refresh my memory.

I pulled the top of Media Encoder, dragged my logo in MY computer and everything seemed to be going beautifully. I chose QuickTime > Animation codec > etc.

However, when you import the file into the BODY the Alpha channel did not. Where the Alpha channel is supposed to be the play as video black BODY. I went back to ME and double checked all the settings. I don't see anywhere in ME where you can specify an Alpha channel as you can in AE when you specify "RGB + Alpha".

Is there a setting in ME to activate/read the alpha channel that I'm missing? I really want to use me for future renditions of model of AE, but unless I can work around the problem of Alpha channel I will not be able to.

    CS6 all to date

Win Vista (not that I think that any question of specifications of system in this case).

    Thank you in advance,

    Shane

Of the SOUL, add the file to the render queue and click on either the codec or preset to open After Effects export settings. Video basic settings by selecting a 32 bit depth will allow the alpha layer. If you use a 10-bit codec or higher, set the depth of 64-bit.

Either by the way, have you thought about dynamic link from Premiere Pro to After Effects file? It eliminates the need for an intermediate file and maintains a depth of bit up to 32bpc.

  • Basics of the alpha channel of Canon 7 d video

Maybe I'm missing something basic here, as I am fairly new to play with alpha in VIDEO layers/channels. Otherwise, I have a pretty good understanding of the alpha when it comes to photos, animations, etc.ffects

I'm doing the black in a video of a few flames in an alpha channel, so I can use them in the form of particles in After Effects.

    (like in this video http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial/green_smoke/ ( )

I understand the restrictions codec/format for alpha channels, but the problem is that I can't get the black to come out at all as an alpha channel.

I have tried Quicktime with no codec and FLV and other formats that are supposed to support alpha channels.

According to me, what is the problem is format that shoots in the Canon does not have an alpha channel in native mode to export the video in different formats is not having an effect. If this is the case, how should we do the dark parts of a video in an alpha channel.

I know there are ways to make green in a channel alpha (filtering). I can't for the life of me figure out how to get scars OR Prime Minister to acknowledge the black straight as an alpha channel however.

I watched a few 30 tutorials trying to understand this point, but it seems that I am unable to ask the right question to get the answer I want.

    videoalphas.jpg

    There are the export parameters.

Perhaps someone can point out my gross missunderstanding of what I'm trying to make, or otherwise put me on the right track.

Here's a clip of in aftereffects, the arrow shows that the clip has properties alpha... I think, but when I turn off the alpha channel EVERYTHING disappears.
I have to d something in the aftermath?  I don't know, I'm lost.

    videoalphas.jpg

If anyone thinks they can help I'm willing to do a youtube video showing what I do.

PP will never recognize black as an alpha channel.  You have to eliminate the black using the Luma key.  As long as it has nothing else underneath, which retired black will be encoded as an alpha transparency.
