2000: 2000 HP laptop - corrupt 2d19WM / recovery

Help the old friend to restore his laptop... [He says that he got caught in a scam to extort money online - granting of control away from his laptop to the appellant. When he refused to pay, the appellant somehow corrupted the laptop so that it initializes more.]

My friend gave me all the passwords he used generally, but none works. (Suspected that the appellant waxed all account information). When I tried to start, I got the error that no boot device could not be found. So I tried to access the BIOS to boot from an external device, but no password worked to access the BIOS. So I used the keys to market to return the BIOS.

Still can't access the BIOS (see other post) because of the password blocking access and after returning it to an other BIOS, the laptop seems to start to boot Windows, but then the power on password does not work. According to me, my only recourse is to wax the hard drive and reinstalling everything, but my friend has not any recovery backup, or the installation media, it has no code of software license. (All my friend has is the original, since warranty paperwork expired.)

I tried to get the files to restore the hp.com drivers & downloads, but the HP2000 no longer seems to be supported for it.

Any suggestions on how to proceed, or how to acquire media that I need to rebuild?

Thank you!!

Hello

There are two options available.

1. you can order a set of replacement of the recovery media using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office). They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

Order HP recovery disks.

2. download the file to Image of Windows 8 on the following link - Note that this Image file is subject to a ceiling of download, you may need to try over a period of a few hours before the download starts correctly.

https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

Use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

If you instead create a flashdrive bootable for this Image, try the free app below.

http://Rufus.AKEO.IE/

The product key for Windows 8 is encrypted in the bios chip and read automatically during installation.

Kind regards

    Hello Ayajanna56,

I understand the brightness buttons do not work properly is that correct? I'll do my best to try to help you with this problem.

It was actually released a newer BIOS for your system. Clink this link and installed and see if that helps. Plug the power adapter before you install it and remember to save first download and then install it.

  • Question about OS preinstalled on laptops Toshiba and recovery CD?

Y at - it only something preinstalled on Toshiba notebokes and if so, what is pre-installed? Only Windows or also the software?
Is there a score with these things pre-installed on it? Do you get the original software CD or that you get only a recovery disk?
I hope someone could help me with these questions.

    Thank you very much.

    HI Sanne,

This will depend on what any Toshiba laptop model you buy, and also the provider that you use.
Some Toshiba laptops come with recovery discs that you use to install the operating system base so that any software provided and utilities. Other Toshiba laptops have a 'hidden' partition and a utility to allow you to create your own recovery discs.

If you buy your ook noteb through points of sale, then they may well pre = install the operating system for you as well as their own software and tools.

In general, you will not receive an original CD of Microsoft since the laptop will be provided under an OEM license.

As you can see that there is no simple answer to your question. :-)

  • Laptop computer HP recovery question

    Hello

I have a laptop HP DM4 Clubhouse. It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. The issue I had with the laptop is that during startup, it goes to a screen with 2 options: 'Launch (recommended) StartupRepair' or 'Start Windows normally' (who just goes to a blue windows screen and is no more progress).  So, I then when the BIOS options and ran the memory and hard drive tests. The memory test ran and says memory ok. However, the test drive long popped up saying complete hard drive 1 (305). So, I was wondering if the hard drive is broken and needs to be replaced? I also tried to restore the laptop using the recovery disks that I had done some time. Whenever I try to boot from the laptop recovery disks will go just to the blue screen of windows and will not progress further. So, I don't know what to do with this point. Any guidance would be appreciated.

A hard drive is pretty fast & easy to replace. You can use a SATA hard detail. Just be sure to get one with a capacity at least as large as the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be bigger but not smaller. For example if you have a 320 GB you could use a 500 GB but not a 250 GB.

  • HP 2000-2b09WM Notebook PC: Recovery DVD/USB for HP 2000 - 2b09WM, laptop, 320 GB hard drive.

    Greetings.

I want to restore my laptop HP 2000 - 2b09WM to factory settings, using a restore disk drive or USB.

Where can I find the disc, iso image or file?

I can't find on the site of HP, although I found it there before.

The best solution is to download an image of a DVD, burn myself.

The next best is to get the HP recovery disk, I can't seem to find it.

    Thank you.

  • HP 2000-2d09SE laptop PC: ask for upgrade information.

    Hi, I'm from the India

    I brought a Hp 2000 series (model: 2d09SE) nearly 1.5 years ago.

This product is very good for the price. 1 month ago I install 10 Pro (x 64) Windows on my laptop.from so I need more ram for working smothly. I am a student of management. I have to work on my project. So I want to upgrade hardware is that possiable for this model?

If it possiable then give the instruction.and gives me suggestions to buy the ram and hard drive from which company...

I want to upgrade Ram 4 GB to 8 GB and 500 GB to 1 TB HD.

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)

    Here's what I found:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03763129

Housing for memory 2 customer accessible/upgradable memory
    Supports dual-channel memory
Supports up to 8192 GB of system/RAM DDR3 1600 MHz
    DDR3/1333 MHz (DDR3/1600-MHz demoted in DDR3/1333 MHz)
DDR3/1066 MHz (DDR3/1600 MHz demoted in DDR3/1066 MHz) - AMD only

    Supports the following configurations:
    System memory total 6144 MB (4096 × 1 + 2 048 × 1) ●; not supported on a 32-bit system
    ● total 4096 MB system memory (4096 × 2 048 or 1 × 2)
    ● total 2048 MB system memory (2 048 × 1).

As for HARD drive, I'd go with Western Digital HARD drive but I can recommend a SSD driver if you can afford it. Also when you upgrade your HARD drive you want to first create your recovery media, then when you put it in the new memory and HARD drive SSD performing a factory restore to make sure it restarts in factory install with activated Windows and you will get your system upward and run faster that way.

Oh and I tried to restore the option and he did nothing.

    Hi cgardne5,

    1. How did you restore the computer?

Try these steps and check the result.
Step 1: The repair of the boot with Vista DVD
    a. Insert the Windows DVD.
    b. restart your computer.
    c. let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
    d. If you are prompted, press a key to continue.
    e. When you reach the screen install Windows, select your preferences in the language to install, time and currency format and keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
    f. do not click install now. Instead, click on repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
    g. make sure that the appropriate operating system is selected, and then click Next.
    h. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
    i. click on startup repair. Once the Startup Repair tool is completed, click Finish to restart the computer.
    j. remove the DVD and restart the computer to see if the system boots fine.

Step 2: If you do not have the Vista DVD, start the computer in safe mode and restore the computer
See Start your computer in safe mode
    See System Restore
NOTE: You can also choose the system restore on the system recovery options.
