  I have the same problem that Joe980 wrote about (not being able to update and getting error code 80070057).  I followed all the steps by Martin (support engineer) on 2 April.

  When I got to step 5, the results showed "Protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them."  I continued to step 6.  In step 8, I was see the files on my desktop named 'SFCRESULTS. TXT' (I see this but without the ".") ("TXT" and the folder is empty) and CHECKSUR. JOURNAL (again, I see this less the ".") JOURNAL") here is the contents of this folder:

  Difficulty in registration of Windows Installer

  follow these steps:

  1. Download msiserver.zip and save it to the desktop.
  2. Unzip the file and extract the msiserver.reg on the desktop.
  3. Right click on msiserver.reg and choose Merge.
  4. Click Yes when asked for confirmation.
  5. Now, the bit important.
  6. in the start menu search box type "regedit" and should come with regedit.exe, click it and then click continue, click file, and then click Import, find the file downloaded, click Open and it should say "the keys and values contained in c: / file name have been added successfully to the registry."
  7. Then restart and try to update again.

  Hi R_Kelly. I contacted Adobe Support "cat" and they got me to download Adobe Application Manager (a.a.M) and install it and it solved the problem. "" They reasoned that it should have been but corrupt files that does not seem too logical for me. (Photoshop, I bought is a new recently installed product).

  Note that it was a. .M which took care of the update via 'Help, updated' in photoshop in the first place.

  Problem solved. I decided to wait and try download on my home network, I would have used my last download NIS 2010 if I uninstalled and did a clean install. When I tried it on my network home, which is not the case nearly as safe as the College network, it worked fine. Just wanted you to know and say thanks for all your help.
