64 bit preinstalled operating system and 32-bit recovery disc?

Hello

I saw (somewhere) that if you buy a laptop Toshiba with a 64 bit OS, you can create your own recovery discs, and you are given a 32-bit recovery disk by Toshiba in case you want to switch.

Is this true and if so what models does this apply to?

Thank you.

Hi mate,

Yes, maybe this information is just, but I can say from my own experience on some laptops like Qosmio X 300 models are delivered with both versions. This means that on first commissioning you can choose between 32-bit and 64-bit.

In addition, if you create the Toshiba recovery disc, it creates two different discs: one for 32 bit OS and the other for the 64 bit OS.

You can check this in specifications detailed on the Toshiba site. Just look for the laptop you want to buy and you can see what OS is delivered. ;)

Yes, the collection clears all of the C drive and you will lose your files. The solution would be to backup regularly to an external HARD drive and after the key one to also restore the files from the external hard drive.

This has been answered before, if you do a search for "key recovery" it appears among the first results.

  • No operating system on the Windows recovery disc

I'm trying to troubleshoot an Unmountable_Boot_Volume error that crashes my computer while booting.

When I boot from the Windows installation CD and select 'Repair', I am prompted to select the operating system, I want to fix it. However, no operating system are listed.

The hard drive with Vista on it is recognized in the BIOS and is connected to the computer through SATA.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    A.J.

Disconnect your SATA drive, re - connect. Make sure that the connection is all set up correctly.

If possible, connect the SATA drive to another PC (only if possible) and check for the presence of the IDF.

    Then run the Startup Repair.

Also consider a check disk running.

  • Is there any way to install the operating system and drivers without recovery CD?

    Hello...

I installed my laptop with the recovery cd...
but I disappointed because he installed many unusual programs like sonic-pro games, aol...
What is a way to install windows and drivers only? without this annoying programs?

I don't want to uninstall after instalation... This isn't the same thing...

    Hello

    Hello

Why disappointed? It is not uncommon that recovery image on laptops (not simply on Toshiba one) contains different applications and software. No one forced to use anything, and you can remove it. I put t know why you think that this is not the same thing but in any case, you can use Microsoft Windows XP edition family CD and install the OS. After that, each driver must be installed separately.

Everything you need you can find on the download page of Toshiba.

    Good bye

I have a Toshiba Satellite U200-115 model No.PLUA0E - 0970372N which ran from Windows XP Professional. Stupidly, I decided to reformat the hard disk to clean. When I got to use my original recovery disk I found that it was badly scratched and unusable. I just got a new recovery disk, but he installed Windows Vista not what the machine came with.

It says "this copy of Windows is not genuine" and that the "product key is invalid for activation. I don't have a product key for Vista only for XP Professional!

  • 32-bit operating system and 64-bit

    Hello

Can someone explain the difference between the 32-bit operating system and 64-bit? I am running with 32-bit win7 but
How about 64 - bit? Does it mean that 64-bit is more advanced? Thanks in advance.
    ;-)

    Klyde

For starters, you cannot switch between bits or a slightly upgraded version to the other, it takes a clean install of the bit appropriate win7 version.

On a win7 32-bit level basis can only use 4 GB of ram, 64-bit can use much more. Of course if your installed programs can use more ram is a separate issue.

The majority of the programs is still 32-bit

Nothing else google or Bing search

  • Had to reload operating system and applications data, now can't get firefox to recognize the profile data

My C drive (disk solid state drive), which held my operating system and data from the app crashed. I had it replaced, updated Win 7 to win 10 and have downloaded Firefox. I was able to restore my profile from a Mozy backup data and copied in the Firefox folder. But Firefox resolutely refuses to recognize. I tried using the recovery data from an old profile, but no advantage help page. Tried to use the Manager profile, but without success. When I go to Troubleshooting Information and click on file/Show profile, it comes up with a list of files (files starting with bookmarkbackups, which however is empty, down for webapps, which has the file inside webapps.json), then the files from addons.json down through xulstore.json and the file places.sqlite is 10 240 KB Although there is something in there, but Firefox resolutely refuses to acknowledge my profile, bookmarks, etc..

I'm out of options and ripping my hair out trying to get all my favorites, in which I have a lot of information such as the authentication of data for many favorite sites. It is frustrating that all the information seems to be there, but Firefox ignore all.

    Can anyone help?

Such a backup is perhaps a ZIP archive containing all the files into it if it is not a real file, but only one file.

Note is that you replace the file places.sqlite with a copy of the backup that you have to make sure to remove existing places.sqlite - shm and temporary files to SQLite places.sqlite - wal.
Ditto for the other SQLite files that you are restoring.

Have you checked the application.ini file in the backup?

NTSC and PAL are analog standards and don't apply to the share or export settings in iMovie.

    First download and install:

    Intel Chipset driver ici

and don't forget to restart your system when you do.

To get to his card work download and install first:

MS-UAA for XP with SP2 (required with a reboot before the graphics and Audio, Modem driver) here

Only after this, download and install:

IDT Audio high definition (HD) Driver here

Now install the driver for graphics card:

Driver video Intel and control panel here

    Peripheral PCI should be modem:

LSI High-Definition Audio (HDA) Modem Driver here

HP integrated module (which is for sure Bluetooth) and network controller have few opportunities on your list of model drivers, so we will need more information to give you an answer corerect to solve these two problems. Reach:

    Control Panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager

Click with the right button of your mouse on each yellow sign with exclamation point ( ), and then choose Properties. Then, go to the ' Details ' tab and paste hardware ID here. This way we will know what it is.

Below, an example of how you do it:

  • Reinstalling operating system and drivers only. Don't want any other software and tools...

    Hello

I want a clean reinstall on my HP Mini 210. How can I reinstall the operating system and drivers only from the recovery partition? I don't want any other software and tools HP...

P.S. I've done a reinstall from the recovery partition and then spend many hours, removal of unwanted and tools software, but traces of these programs remain anywhere in the registry, the Program Files folder...

Here are the specifications of your computer of HP Mini 210-1077CA. According to the specification, this model comes with Windows 7 Starter, which is installed at the factory.

Please see "Recovery discs to create or save an Image to a USB (Windows 7) recovery" for instructions on creating recovery media. See also "Using System Recovery, Factory Reset and Minimized Image Recovery Options" to determine if your computer supports the "recovery Image reduced" and how to perform this recovery option, if it supports.

Reduced Image recovery does the following:
    Reinstall the original operating system.
Re-installs all the drivers of original material.
Reinstall the HP essential software (e.g., HP Support Assistant, HP Recovery Manager, etc.).
Don't install applications for testing or trial games.
