6510 ink level alert

I have a Photsmart 3210 have recently moved to a printer Photosmart 6510 and must admit to being a little disappointed. The 3210 was a much more robust version, but the main point of this question relates to the ink level monitoring. On the 3210, I got a message saying that the level was low so I could check I had replacements, then, when the cartridge is empty the printer would stop printing until I replaced the empty cartridge. My 6510 gives me a low level warning, but when the cartridge is empty it operates a printing happily, wasting paper and ink of the other three cartridges.  This is how he should behave?   If so, I lose no more ink per throw, until the cartridge is empty or by impression of scrap!   Not a step forward in my mind.  Please let me know if I have something is set incorrectly.  Thank you.

MikeLinham,

You are right.  Photosmart 3210 and Photosmart 6510 differ in the way in which they will inform you on the ink.  Photosmart 3210 has a reservoir of print head and did not allow printing to continue with the ink still in the printer.  When print quality is unacceptable for the Photosmart 6510, replace empty ink cartridges.

Check the ink levels from the front panel of the printer by touching the icon that looks like a drop of ink in the top bar.  If the ink cartridges are not empty, there is a print quality problem and probably the print head needs to be cleaned.  Click here to see a detailed description of which follows the steps of troubleshooting problems of quality printing with the HP Photosmart 6510 e-all-in-one - B211a.

Solution: use genuine HP cartridges
Solution 2: allow automatic maintenance to complete
Solution 3: Check the paper
Solution 4: Check the print settings
Solution 5: Check the ink levels and replace the cartridges of weak or empty
Solution 6: print and evaluate a Diagnostic print quality report
Solution 7: replace the cartridge of the problem
Solution 8: the all-in-one service

  • C6380 low ink level alert

I just installed new HP color and the black photo cartridge toners.  I printed 3 photographs (5 x 7) and the alert of ink message appears showing the color cartridges are low.  It seems that the cartridges don't last very long even when I'm not printing photos.   I'm really frustrated by the short life of the cartridges.  I think I'll buy new cartridges every month and they are not cheap.  I don't post a lot of pictures.  Most of what I print is documents, e-mail, and web info.

Everyone is faced with this problem?  Is it possible to make the cartridges last longer?  What's the precise ink alarm function?

This is quite normal. HP will tell you something different, but if you look around, on the internet, you will find that this printer was a major RIP-OFF by HP. It does a decent job, but it doesn't even come close to print as many pages as HP would like you to believe.

I bought this printer about a year ago, and it's so frustrating. You better buy refill ink and refill the cartridges until the printer is shot then get another, hopefully making another who is more responsible.

  • HP OfficeJet 5610: Check ink levels

Hi - I have a desktop HP and HP printer and have always been able to check my on my desktop printer ink levels.  He invites me in fact when the ink level is low.  The problem is that I have a Toshiba laptop and when I print with my HP 5610 printer I have no way to check ink levels or receive alerts to replace the low ink level HP cartridges.  I've looked everywhere on the laptop.  Any help appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi @Mark05

You have the full feature software and drivers installed? Otherwise, download and run the HP printer install wizard for Windows. You can use the software to check ink levels.

The HP printer for window installation wizard was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and users Windows 8.1 download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP printer.

Alternatively, you can use printing HP and doctor Scan to perform this maintenance like cleaning the print heads and to check ink levels.

Click here to download and run the print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools

I hope this solves your request.

  • Incorrect ink levels - e-all-in-one printers HP Deskjet 3520

    Hello

I have a HP Deskjet 3520 printer e-all-in-one, which is about 2 months old.

I started having bad black only prints, (very faded and scratches) so downloaded and executed the doctor HP software.

It shows that I have about 20% of the ink left, then ran two head cleans and problem still there. Checked the levels once again, still 20%, but thought I drop in a new ink cartridge... just to check... and found that the printer now works perfectly!

So my problem is this. My printer doesn't seem to know the actual levels of my cartridges.

Can it be solved or the printer is faulty?

Hi, sorry if the wording of my post was confusing. The graphical representation of the level of ink remaining in the supply are estimates and are intended to be used as such. The most accurate indication is low on ink e-mail alert that you receive when you have the option "show me ink immediately alerts" selected in the printer software. Now that you have this option is selected, you will receive a notification that you are weak ink before printing quality begins to deteriorate. Of course you can always print with supplies after receiving a low ink message but will increase your chances for print quality problems.

    Best.

  • I got a low ink warning on my mac for my printer epson artisan 837. I replaced the cartridge, which was low, but he still reads the low ink level on the mac, but full bed on the epson Control Panel.

Well, I replaced the cartridge as usual, and osx is not that the printer is now complete: says, "printer may be out of ink" on the status. Ink levels will be not displayed via the computer but check out on the printer.

Restarted both units and in vain.

    WiFi is not a factor.

If anyone has a solution or any ideas, please help.

    Thank you!

You can try to disconnect the printer, restart the computer, reconnect with the printer, and then try again.

  • C4280: Checking ink levels

I'm just checking my level of ink (that should be EASY), but from what I see, I need to go to the HP Solutions Center to do that and I don't see where I have HP Solutions Center's.  Confused and frustrated!

    Hi @KMCornwall,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your request.

I understand that you want know about HP Solutions Center. I would like to help.

    Let's try these steps-

    1) click the icon Solution Center HP on the Windows task bar, or double-click the desktop icon to open the software. If you do not see the icon in each area, click on "Start" "All programs", "HP", then "HP Solution Center" to open the program.

    (2) wait for the program to open. Click on 'Settings', 'Print settings', then "Printer Toolbox." In the Toolbox, find the tab "estimated ink levels".

    3) click on the tab to see a chart of estimated ink levels.

Please let me know if that answers your questions or solve your problems.

    Thank you!

  • How to disable ink level notifications

Product information: HP Officejet Pro L7680 all-in-One OS: Windows 7

I've had the printer for a while, but recently received a new computer and downloaded current drivers and software.  Now, I often (at least twice an hour) get a pop-up of my ink level notification.  I tried everything to turn it off.  If I want to know my ink level, I can check it out on my printer.  Can anyone help?

    Thank you.

Highlight your printer, click the printer server properties, and then click on Advanced tab and uncheck the two boxes "Show of information any notification...". ».  Apply, and then click OK.

Check also that you do not have a program called Growl installed or running.

    Hi @Kathyd1290,

Of course, you can check the ink levels for each cartridge of the screen of the printer and its software.

Follow these steps to locate the ink from the screen of the printer or the software levels, each ink cartridge is indicated separately:

  • HP Deskjet 1510: Impossible to check ink levels.

    Hello

OK, so I'm sure that some time ago I had assistant HP printer installed on my computer with all this work well until around may, but, and I don't know why because I don't really use the printer during the 3 months that follow, when I went to check my ink levels last week, I had no installed printer wizard which I thought was weird so I decided to reinstall everything and when I had just uninstalled my printer and restarted my pc, he decided to update windows 10 or something... so I only installed the drivers of printer and today and when I went to check on the wizard of the printer ink levels I could not find the function of any where... I was looking through some difficulties other people had , and I have heard that some printers do not have this feature available because of their type of printer, so this is my case? or I did something wrong on my installation? because I'm sure I got this role until may so it makes no sense really does not have now...

Any help would be helpful, thanks.

    Hello

So I don't know why, but when I clicked on 'Maintain your printer', try to print a test page and see how my ink level have been made since I saw not the estimate, with the estimated ink levels tab was fully functional and the icon of the top for the estimated ink levels tab appeared... so it turns that the problem be corrected himself or I don't see not ink levels until I click on "Maintaining your printer" which I didn't... anyway the problem is now resolved, so I am sorry for the trouble and thank you for trying to help

  • How to disable, disable or reset the ink level warnings and messages

I spent hours on the internet trying to figure out how to turn it off, disable or reset the ink level warnings and messages. The ink cartridges, I bought are not the expensive brands of HP, but generic print cartridges at a reasonable price. They work great, and I have no problem printing. But apparently HP went through a lot of trouble, making it difficult for customers to disable the annoying low ink level warnings that pester you every time that you try to print a page. It doesn't matter if the ink cartridges are completely full. It is obviously an attempt to punish consumers who buy anything other than HP products. I'm about to recant to never, EVER, buy another HP product again. I'm also about to post horrible comments on Amazon, Ebay, new egg and any other place I can think to warn potential clients of this heinous behavior of HP.

  • HP Photosmart D5360: check ink levels HP Photosmart D5360 and use Windows 8.1

check the ink levels HP Photosmart D5360 and use Windows 8.1; Windows 7 has a HP Solution Center but Windows 8.1 is not?

    Hi @torbay,

By your post, I see that you have no software to verify the printer ink levels using Windows 8.1. I would like to help you today.

I checked online and there is a software HP Photosmart full feature and driverswho should still support the printer services. If you use the old or Windows Update drivers, remove them and install the latest drivers.

You can also download and run the print and Scan doctor, it can predict the ink levels and services available for the printer. HP printers - help print and scan the doctor for Windows to solve printer problems. Go to the section how can I use the services of diagnosis and cleaning of printer?

  • Feature of printer HP Deskjet 2050 J510 estimated ink level

Does anyone know why the shortcut of printer HP Deskjet 2050 has more estimated ink level functionality?  That is until 05/12/12, and now the entire window has changed. "Now it has only the options to 'See whats printing' and 'Customize your printer' Set preferences.  I can't find any reference to the updates that may have changed, so I have no restore points.  The only thing that has changed recently is the new version of the HP Support Assistant.  This would have an effect on the printer software?
