9 use of the bandwidth of Captivate

Anyone know an easy way to track the use of bandwidth for Captivate courses, or is there a line course Director for how much bandwidth use? We are in an environment in which some areas have very limited bandwidth and cannot play our course, even without audio or video included.

I am not interested in tips to reduce the size of classes, just some numbers bandwidth usage I can give network administrators. Thank you!

Have you tried to download on SCORM cloud?

I think they have performance statistics generated after the course has been viewed which could provide the base you are looking for.

You should also consider the LMS you use will also have an impact on performance for your users.

A user at each location could run a 'speed test' to check the upload and download bandwidth they know. This could also be useful to your network administrators to have a conversation with your service provider.

  • I need manage the bandwidth used, PowerConnect 6224 traffic collision and packet traffic.

I need manage the bandwidth used, PowerConnect 6224 traffic collision and packet traffic. I downloaded the MIB from the Dell support site and I saw thar there are about 105 MIB in the downloaded file. My question is: in what Mib, I can find the OID which allow me to monitor the above?

    Thanks in advance

    Rogerio

Unfortunately, there is not a complete list of the different OID in different MIB. In order to find this info to simply browse through the different MIB seeking the OID, you need. We did some looking through the MIB and found these OIDs that can help you. Another thing to keep in mind is that the MIB downloaded are in general of a group of switches. So there are situations where a /OID MIB listed will work for a certain model of switch with certain level of firmware.

    RMON-MIB

    FastPath-cos-qos-mib

Another method, some people have had success, done using a SNMP walk.

I hope this information helps. The method of importation for these MIBs can change based on the management/tracking software that you use.

  • ESXI 4 - can I limit the bandwidth used by each guset?

    Hi all

I was wondering if I can limit the amount of bandwidth used by each of them to the virtual machine?

I have two VM (in the future there will be more) with server 2003 installed on them.

Map of network Wan ESXI has 40 MB of connection, and I want a virtual machine to have a limit of 15 MB and the other VM to have a 25 MB limit.

    Can it be done?

    With our thanks,

    Itamar

No, you cannot limit the bandwidth with this granularity, bun, you can set the average bandwidth for all virtual machines connected to the network of the virtual machine port group.

In the case of 2 virtual machines, I guess you can simply create 2 groups of network ports VM differet with average 15 to 25 Mbit bandwidth, but it would ' be really easy to maintain if number of VM will grow.

  • I push the limits of Captivate 5.5?

I have known many of instability (a few accidents) and general slowness (rotation beach ball) when working with the timeline in Captivate 5.5.

My calendars are stacked with still images (png), text and audio.  Some of my slides transition betweet as much as 100 active image on different layers for durations of 200 seconds or more.

Captivate 5.5 really works with these long delays, and I was wondering if many people had some advice for me.

I have edited a large number of video in the past, but am not familiar with the Flash.  However, I am familiar with Adobe After Effects and to a lesser extent Adobe Premier. (I'm more of a Final Cut Pro user.)

Would I best working in a video program off the coast and take him to Captivate 5.5 as a Flash Video file?

It would do me no good to put more RAM in my computer?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Here is the description of my system:

Apple 27 "iMac 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB of RAM

250 GB sold State boot drive & 2 TB SATA Media Drive

    Mac OS X Version 10.6.8

Another thing, I just thought to... it would be better for me to move all the project files and assets of my SATA drive on the Solid State drive?  Would speed things up in terms of responsiveness of Captivate?

It seems to me that you are stuck on the idea of trying to keep all of this in a single Captivate project file.

If you have a few individual slides that are up to 3 minutes longer (200) I would recommend that you divide your project into smaller project files and use chaining to achieve branching.  My feeling is that there are several natural places in traffic where the branches all back together, and it would be the right place to stop a project and start the next.

That strategy would avoid the question you currently have.  Turn the whole thing into a video file that then empty you in Captivate will prevent you from being able to use your idea of connection because it will then simply linear.  You must have a video file for each slide maintain interactivity.  But then with video you would go into another mess of issues... the amount of bandwidth video consumes would probably sinking things so then users are waiting for videos to buffer.

  • Limit the bandwidth for WNR614 router n300 wireless devices

    Hello

I use the WiFi WNR614 N300 router. Is it possible to limit the bandwidth for devices that are connected on it.

    I thank you,

    Vignesh C

    Hi @vic2408

    Welcome to the community!

To answer your question, there is no way to limit the bandwidth on each of the devices.
You may need to use a 3rd party software to do this.

  • How to increase my use of the network

I'm trying to download data from a remote computer using the SSH client.  My problem is that there are several data files, with some more than 5 GB and my use of the network seems to be only 1% when I followed my network connection using resource monitor.  I wish I could increase my use of the network to 100% for a temporary period.  I was able to increase this value to 5% by increasing my virtual memory 151939 MB. Is there something else I can do?

Here's an option to try: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/05/24/increase-multithread-download-speed-by-disable-vista-auto-tuning-on-tcpip/.

You're confusing several similar-sounding terms. The use of the network that shows on the Task Manager is on your local network. and will show as a percentage of the speed of the LAN (usually 100M), this bandwidth is available for traffic between PC on your LAN.

Your download speed is usually limited by the speed of your connection to your Internet access provider. If you run a speed http://www.speedtest.net/ test (ignore all the ads and just run the speed test) and you will see 56 Kbps or if you see 437 Kbps which seems low for a broadband connection, then there may be a problem with your internet connection (but it can also display as perfectly well and maybe even better than average).  If your test shows below average speeds (I mean well below average - not just a little bit):

    (1) try a test of speed of a wired connection. If this test ok, the problem is the wireless from your pc to the router.

    (2) if the wired connection is slow and you run DSL, check that every phone in your House has a filter on the plug and the dsl modem has a separator.

    (3) call your ISP

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Limit the bandwidth on a Cisco router (possible 1800 series)

    Hi experts,

I'm looking for just a few ideas in my scenario of installation.

I have this router. Its f0/0 will be the Internet connection with a bandwidth of 30Mbps. Its f0/1 will be connected to a switch for internal networks. This link will be separated 3 VLANs 3 internal networks. I wonder if there is a way to gurantee 10 Mbps for each VIRTUAL local area network, but allow up to 30Mbps when another two VLANS use all Internet bandwidth? I'm just worried about the bandwidth of internet download.

3 internal networks will all public IPs and they belong to their own subnets. There will be NAT/PAT.

An example configuration is greatly appreciated!

  • How can I limit the bandwidth for endpoint on the router from 1921 to mitigate impacts traffic bittorrent reviews?

We have implemented an independent network for our wireless comments. It's an ADSL modem, enter a 1921 Cisco. I setup NAT and DHCP on the router and it is only accessible through the wireless connection. We have a connection 50Mbps and about 250 devices connected to it. Some of them use bittorrent and other file-sharing software to quickly eat bandwidth.

Since the torrent software is adjustable to any port and cannot be blocked like this, I was wondering if there is a way to limit the bandwidth available to each device connection mitigate this.

I put this in the Group WAN because it seemed appropriate as it performs the external connection. I know that the argument could be made for LAN, because it connects only within the corporate building and not to one of our service centers.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi John,.

I don't see anything wrong to apply a basic qos strategy, rank traffic using nbar to match with the bittorrent Protocol and other similar protocols. And then just Butterfly traffic down using a map policy.

  • Limit the bandwidth connection Internet comments

    Hello world

I'm working on the network with 3 4404 WLC s on the internal network, and now let's add another controller to the DMZ to make an anchor for a guest WLAN controller. I have a request to limit the internet bandwidth for the network invited to 25% of total bandwidth or less. The firewall is a Pix 515 7.0 (2) running.

Anyone has any ideas on how I can limit the bandwidth on a particular WLAN. I was thinking about QOS on the WIFI, but there must be a way easier or more.

    Thank you all...

It works very well for us. I used several tools to check the bandwidth is limited and he seems.
