A feature missing from CC Packager: choose the temp folder

When you use the conditioner of creative cloud to assemble a package, the software downloads all necessary files. But it downloads not directly to the chosen location, but somewhere on the disc of the operating system.

But I have my operating system on a 64 GB SSD, which already > 55GO is used. Thus, Packer CC doesn't have enough space to store all the files. So, I can't get a package.

IMHO the packer must use the drive/folder assigned also to temporary files, not the OS disc.

Hi WakkerMartijn,

If you go to the Creative cloud Packer preferences where you see the signed in user. You can then change the where the default location for the cache to the application.

See you soon

  • The files have been moved to the temp folder, but now they're gone!

    When my computer did its last update, it changed everything and all my documents in my office were missing. After some research, I found the files under my username and content of the temp folder. (I know little or nothing to the computer) I just dragged and dropped on my desk and everything was fine, but when I stopped and restarted my computer, my office was returned to what it was originally, but this time all folders were empty and the files that I had slipped into the 'new' office have disappeared! OK, so I went into the folder users again, but this time the temporary folder is missing. I found a folder called temp somewhere else, but this did not help at all because it was empty. I tried a system restore, but it didn't help me to recover my files. Help!

    It seems that you have logged in the temporary user profile. In the temporary profiles, no data is stored permanently and the data stored in each session are deleted once the user disconnects.

  • Running script without the necessary permissions to access the Temp folder

    Hello

    I'm under AE CC 2015 (latest version) in Windows 7 and I try to use a script (easy arrows) that requires the "Allow of Scripts to write files and access network" to be activated in the AE preferences.

    My COMPUTER service stopped executables to run in the temp folder, what happens when a script requires that the "Allow Scripts to write files and access network" is checked in the preferences of After Effects. I was able to use this script successfully before these new policies have been deployed.

    I tried easy arrows running from the file > Scripts > run Script file... but has not worked since AE search only the .jsx and not jsxbin file. I tried the filter "All files" when looking for the easy arrows jsxbin file. Is it possible to have the scripts look to another directory to run? The developer has offered to engineer a solution that works within our policies, but I know that I will get the approval of the budget for it.

    I understand this is an error caused entirely by my Department, but I just need to check that there is not another solution other than to change my local permissions (which they probably aren't).

    I just need to check that After Effects doesn't have a work around to do this, IE: run scripts from another location, etc.

    Here is the error in Event Viewer that is generated when I try and run easily arrows:

    You can have several temporary folders. Your guys TI could establish a sharing folder or specific local network for you and include it in the temp system variable, but only when you run as a specific user. Of course, there is always the risk that malicious stuff uses this specific temporary folder, but it is significantly less exposed. Your guy just TI do not go quite far with it and in fact they could impose this even further by using EMET and preventing the execution of specific applications entirely. Although Windows anti-glare very wide open in its default configuration, a lot of it can be controlled and implemented in your favor.

  • V50.0.2: * all * download left-clicked links seem to not start at all - but in fact files are downloaded silently as .part to the temp folder

    Since a few hours ago, I click on the download links are not processed as expected:

    -There is no indication of a download link click at all, that is, no confirmation, no dialog box to choose the destination folder, etc.

    -downloads TO start even if files are downloaded SILENTLY in the folder Temp (C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Temp) as a .part files (and stay there when the download is complete)

    -C' is the case on Web site downloads, I tried

    -the library has no record that all the files have been downloaded

    -There is also no indication of a download completion

    -downloaded files are intact as far as I can tell (tested by renaming and extract a zip file)

    -However, right-clicking and choosing "save link under ' works very well

    -In addition, the elements of the popup menu "downthemall" Download Manager work very well (for example "save the link with downthemall")

    -ive also noticed that closing the download source tab does not cancel the download, for that I have to close completely the ff

    Measures taken so far:

    -restart ff

    -restart the computer

    ran-a anti-virus (avast), ran malwarebytes scan

    -ran ff with all extensions disabled: same problem

    -a went through the steps detailed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files

    -tried to download files with the different browser: worked well

    -tried to download files with profile ff different: worked well

    -tried to download files in safe mode ff: worked well

    Hi bobr_589,

    A standard procedure for the administration of the system is to reduce the amount of storage space used (typically a hard disk) by deleting temporary files.

    That the file is in temp you can remove it because it is not a update file.

    In addition to this review, if Windows update is working or not.

    A Microsoft security in safe mode with networking scanner to make sure that the computer is completely virus-free
    Step 1:
    To start the computer in safe mode

    Step 2:

  • What happens if I delete the files in the Temp folder in Windows 7?

    What is happening in the windows--> Temp folder in windows 7, and if I delete the files there, that will be a problem?  I want to free up the disk space of 1.8 G, but can't find any info anywhere of the consequences of deleting these files, what they are for, or how they got there.  Thank you!

    In general, it is safe to delete anything in the Temp folder.  Sometimes, you can get a "Cannot be deleted because the file is in use" message, but you can just ignore these files.

    For safety, do your Temp directory deletion right after you restart the computer.  Sometimes a program installer will put something in the Temp directory it needs to complete the installation after a reboot.  If you restart and wait a bit so that they were, whatever left in the Temp folder should be OK to delete it.

    If you want to be conservative, use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool (type of cleaning disc in the search box).  If you select "Temporary files" as one of the elements to clean (deleted), by default, that Disk Cleanup removes only the files that have not changed in 7 days.

  • My Windows 7 computer has office in the Temp folder! It is wrong and what should I do?

    I had a hard drive because of all the files copied several times (a virus) crash? Restored the my documents, my music and my image folders to the new hard drive of the computer and manually delete the duplicate files.

    New computer works fine but I noticed the structure will computer > disc Local (c) > users > temp > and then Temp are all folders like desktop, downloads, My Documents, my music, etc..

    Is this normal, should I do something? I also have a folder named Temp in the Windows folder, which seems more the usual thing...

    Thank you!

    I'm afraid the old drive crashed due to a virus and is perhaps still LURKING in the new hard drive somehow.

    It seems that if the 'Temp' folder is the folder of the user profile of the account named "Temp". Open (Control Panel) user accounts and check if there is a username called "Temp". If so, do not delete this folder.

    Or, click Start, type cmd /k net users (press ENTER) to see the list of user accounts in the system.

    I am sure that I met a virus/malware and she had tried several times to enter a first time (that I had said no to the permission of windows) in my hard drive and then hours later, something was repeatedly asking me to upload a file to my computer I say also to cancel. They were not the debug log files. And I've never seen these files before. How can I force malicious deleting something like this will not remove like regular temporary files that are.

    YOU CAN NOT JUST DELETE.  You must run Malwarebytes.

  • Time capsule files missing from one day to the next

    As our iTunes library became too big for our iMac, I moved it to our time Capsule. We mainly used to store videos and movies that we watched through our Apple TV. It worked great for a few months, until today. Tried to connect to it and did not find the library. I restarted the computer and when I tried to reconnect to iTunes for the library on the TC folder, there is nothing! 'Thought' in class and on the small icon in the lower left corner just keeps thinking. Unlike other positions, there was no change in software / hardware made updates on devices since the last time it worked, i.e. 2 days ago. Any ideas?

    Even the thread as I just answered.

    Why my TC is available in the finder more

    1 reset the entire network.

    2. full reset factory and reconfigures the CT... once again that the other thread.

    3. no chance then do an archive of the TC on a USB key properly size...

    Please do NOT use the TC in this way... I assume you have no backups?

    Since you have an iMac, it's simple... move the iTunes library on a USB drive plugged into the Mac. and include it in the TM backup.

  • User choose the alert folder

    Hi all

    very new to scripting and I'm just kinda stuck.

    I made a script that works, but I want to refine even more to make it more user-friendly.

    When the script starts, it asks the user to choose a folder where their images, but there are two problems with that.

    First of all as the default dialog box the DESKTOP folder and the user accidentally press OK, the script will take action even if it is an incorrect location.

    Secondly there is no exit procedure if uses rather press CANCEL in the dialog box.

    I'm trying to implement a fail-safe, so the end-user will have feedback that is when pressing OK a popup asking the user if the folder "x" corresponds to the correct location and give a YES/NO dialog - YES go - PERSON will go back to the file selection screen.

    Also, I need to make the script exit cleanly if the user selects the button CANCEL on the file selection screen.

    Here is a snippet of my code as it is:

    // Ask user for DARK input folder
    alert("Please Choose The Folder Where Your DARK Frames are located.", "DARK FRAME FOLDER LOCATION");

    var DARKinputFolder = Folder.selectDialog("****Please Select The Folder Where Your DARK FRAMES Are Located****");

    // Ask user for LIGHTS input folder
    alert("Please Choose The Folder Where Your LIGHT Frames are located.", "LIGHT FRAME FOLDER LOCATION");

    var LIGHTSinputFolder = Folder.selectDialog("****Please Select The Folder Where Your LIGHT FRAMES Are Located****");

    // ***HANDLE THE DARK FRAMES***

    // get all files in the DARK input folder
    var FILE_TYPE = ".orf"; // The type of files that this script works on -- you can change
    var SEARCH_MASK = "*" + FILE_TYPE; // Image file filter to find only those files
    var DARKfileList = DARKinputFolder.getFiles(SEARCH_MASK);

    var SEARCH_MASK = "*" + FILE_TYPE; // Image file filter to find only those files

        dlg.getTheFilesBtn = dlg.add('button',undefined,'Select a folder');
