a malfunction of windows photo gallery, have XP.

Photo Gallery will not edit new pix of old pix ok to change and no programme found this name to remove, what to do? I did what troubleshooting suggests and have tried downloads from 3 different cameras that normally work fine. Help!

Uninstalling/reinstalling WLPG probably won't make any difference.
In any case... maybe this article would be useful:

I think that this happened after a windows update has been downloaded. I tried to do a restore to a date prior to this but it wouldn't work, she just said recovery ccouldn can't be done due to the error has occurred. Ive tried twice with different dates, but I got the same message twice.

  • We have added images to the Windows Photo Gallery and they will not come with other photos in our screensaver. What should we do?

We put family photos in Windows Photo Gallery and then transfer them to a disc for recording.  We leave some in the Windows Photo Gallery and then click on the photos in the section of the control panel of the computer screen saver.  Old photos still come on t he screen saver, but the new ones that do not.  In addition, any image that we place it anywhere on the computer in a file or something else happens now in the photo gallery, and they did not have it before.  We need to stop that as well.

We want to use all the photos in the photo gallery for the screen savers.

We would like to stop pictures in other parts of the computer to be placed automatically in the photo gallery.  We want only to directly uploaded photos.

    Hello

Try to make the clean boot and see if it makes any difference.

To the clean boot you start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • How to delete a picture in Windows Photo Gallery tag files or specific files of photo files without deleting the image completely out of all of these places, leaving the image in one place vs. have in several places?

I'm trying to manage my photos already imported and downloaded on my computer.  There is a master "All photos and videos" folder in the Windows Photo Gallery all in the top left of this program.  Below that is a folder "Images".  Below that are "Tags" with a certain number of 'labelled' folders below.  Lower in another main 'Images' folder with a folder of the yellow file beside him icon.  Here's this file, a number of other folder also named with the file yellow folder icon next to them as well.

What I'm trying to do is manage all these photos and who want to keep a copy of an image in one of the folders of images with an icon of yellow folder next to him.  However, if I delete an image from anywhere in one of the places mentioned above, no matter which, a copy or copies of the image lies, the given image and all copies in one of the other place listed in the first subparagraph above are deleted and this specific photo is present ONLY in the recycling bin.

How can I do what I want to do here?  I hope that's clear enough!

    Thanks a lot (someone)...

    Hi EKahn,

When you delete a file from the library, you do not your computer delete it. If you delete a folder, photo library no longer displays images and videos that were in that folder, although the file remains on your computer.

You can remove the folders that you have added to the Gallery of photos at any time, but you cannot remove files that are in the default Photo Gallery. Remove a folder prevents him from appearing in the photo gallery. If you delete a photo, it is deleted from your computer as if you deleted the images folder.

  • Error trying to open .jpg from an SD card image using Windows Photo Gallery: this file format is not supported, or you do not have the latest updates of photo gallery

    Vista - Photo Gallery

Tried to upload a .jpg from an SD card image (the image was scanned with a Pandigital Photo converter, slide, negative (model # 05 PANSCN).) The converter from Pandigital is useless unless the Vista updates can 'cure' photo gallery. What do you, Microsoft?

    =====================================
Just one question... when done scanning and recording of the scans...
you select the options to reduce the file size by compressing
    the photos?

If you have only a few of these scans... you could open their
one at a time in Windows Paint and go to... File / save as...
Enter a new name, choose a backup folder and choose .jpg.
This will create a new version of the same photo and I suspect
It will be compatible with Windows Photo Gallery.

Also... it may be interesting to try to install Windows Live Photo Gallery.

  • I have just upgraded to Windows 7. We had all our photos in Windows Photo Gallery. Where are they? can we recover the Windows Photo Gallery?

I just installed Windows 7 and I can't find the pictures I had in Windows Photo Gallery.  Where are they?  Is there a way I can still use the Windows Photo Gallery?

Thanks for answer and sorry for not noticing that you have had so far.  Actually, I solved my problem by editing the registry and by associating file types .jpg and .jpeg image.  I think that the Viewer Windows Live Photo or other software that I installed messed up file associations and caused Media Center does not recognize files .jpg and .jpeg as an addition to the type library.

I changed the settings in the registry as follows:

    1. under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, navigate to the key named .jpeg
2 change the (default) string value so that the data field is "jpegfile" (without the "")
    3. Add a new string value named: 'Content Type' and together the data field "image/JPEG" (once again without the "")
    4. Add a new string value named: "Type perceived" and together the data in the field in 'image '.

Do the same steps above for the key under HHKEY_CLASSES_ROOT .jpg

I don't remember if I needed to restart the computer or not for the changes to take effect.  I solved this by trial and error because I remembered having to add the same entry in the Media Center in Vista type to get files .mp4 playing in the video library.

  • PC control is no longer the printer to print in color from the windows photo gallery

printer will receive the photo of the Gallery, but will only print in black and white.  I printed a test page for my printer without going through the computer and it will print in color.  Also, if I scan a picture and print it, it is printed in color, so I don't think that my printer is the problem.  I think that my computer does not have my printer to print in color?

I think my problem is in the Windows Photo Gallery rather than on the computer that sends a command to the printer?

I recently had some viruses removed from the computer and I wonder if in the process of fixing that, the person at the other end may have changed the settings or something related to sending a command from the PC to the printer?  Is this possible?
