A question about interference to sensitive data

We scramble SSN and other sensitive data in HRMS in the development/TEST forums (well not PROD). The idea is the change of the SSN and other data in the database (per_all_people_f and others) every time that clone us of PROD DEV/TEST. I want to get some pet food if this method is to backup? And another question is, in Oracle, VMS can only be found in per_all_people_f table, I mean, the it not is only one table in HRMS which have SSN, I'm good?

Thank you!
-Bill

For TDE, my understanding is that it's for backup and operating system files. Our goal is to prevent users from applications of TST/DEV to access sensitive data, so I think the transparent data encryption may not work in this circumstance. Please correct me if I'm wrong, that will be very useful.

You are right. Transparent data encryption is an option in the database that allows you to encrypt the columns selected in the files of the E-Business Suite database, data will also be encrypted in the backup that you are taking.

The conclusion is an API is necessary here instead of manual update.

  • A few questions about the use of data and Cliq

    I have the cliq, however I chose to not get 3G (so I bought full fare). So I have a few questions about the phone and the use of 3G / 2 G/Edge:

    1 - is possible to disable completely the 2G / 3 G/Edge? I know you can switch between them, but are anyway just tell the phone to stop using them altogether since I'm not subbed to the service?

    2. when the update takes place, I guess we'll have to reconnect motoblur and etc, but if I don't have 3 G will I have motoblur connection problems after the update? Or he keeps the latest wifi settings so that it would connect to wifi to connect. When I first got my phone it was not a problem b/c I had 3G for the first month.

    I hope that makes sense, thanks!

    To stop all the data, I would like to download an application called APNDroid. He cut them all down. When you log on to blur you have 3G or WIFI doe this without getting a timeout error. During the process of setting up your Blur account, you can press the menu button and set up your wifi to work, this will connect you to Blur and your phone will be connected to the blur. If I were you I would be rethinking to do a data plan since you are really losing out on most of your main features of phones. It's your choice, however.

  • Question about the reports and data of rollups

    We followed in place that I need to create monthly reports. There is a custom agent that collects two key all measures that can be used to define a percentage of system availability. They check essentially two types of errors that may occur together or individually. I have not really used reports in Foglight but has spent a good amount of time to play with them today. The main problem/issue I have at this point is how to deal with the accumulation of data. Our retention policy performs three stacks of separate data in a month, how can you effectively report on these data rolled upward?

    Example: one of the agents simply return a 0 if the system is ok and 1 if it finds the error. In the end, we just need to know how many times that 1 has been returned in a month. How would one accomplish? If the sum is for example, 40 for a total of 4 hours is that it means that he met the 40 times error? The frequency of the agent is set to 60 seconds, so that would mean 40 minutes of time error...?

    The other control agent returns specific error codes and not a simple binary value. If the above example or the question is trivial I still don't know how to deal with this one...

    Most likely, you can use the value of the sum for the metric, just as you might have guessed.  Because the value is 0 or 1, the amount will be the total of the values for the time period.  There are also a number of samples, which should / could be higher because there might be 0.

  • Question about server failure and data migration store

    Hi guys,.

    I just KVM/QEMU on Ubuntu Server and CentOS using Ovirt area of expertise VMWare ESXi is an easy to fall into the domain but I have a question for Server (Host) / relationships of data store. At the moment I have 6 ESXi running on a Dell server and use the local storage in the data store. I am limited in storage in this way so I thought I'd do a NAS or SAN, cost dependant, to expand my storage levels but I'm not sure of some things, but this one being the most important. If I use the server as a host of stand-alone and everything stored on NAS or SAN, storage in case the server fails and needs to be replaced can I use a new server and in the case of new installation of ESXi and use the existing database as nothing has happened or is it possible?

    Thank you

    Yes, it will work. By default the virtual machines consist of a bunch of files stored in a folder, and as long as you use the same (or a newer version) version ESXi - i.e. a data store format supported - you will be able to access these files.

  • A few questions about the design of Data Guard

    Hi, I have a few basic questions around design Data Guard

    Q1. Looking at the instructions of Oracle for the creation of a logical standby, he recommends first creating a physical standby and then convert waiting logic. However, I thought that a logical standby might have a totally different physical structure of the primary. How can this be the case if a logical standby first starts his life pending physical (where the structure must be the same)?

    Q2. It is a normal practice to back up your database before as well - if yes why?

    Q3. Can RMAN back up a database of the day before while he is in the State mounted (rather than opening it)?

    Q4. What is the point of cascade redo apply rather than just get the primary ship to each standby?

    I guess you could try to reduce the latency of node to node if some the day before were quite remote from the primary

    Q5. Is it possible to convert a physical logical Standby?

    Q6. What number best of Standby, you can have - Oracle suggests 30 but I thought I remember reading somewhere regarding the 11 GR 2, that this limit has now been increased?

    Thank you

    Jim

    Hello again;

    "begins each logical waiting first her life on hold physical?"

    Its the only way I ever did. I think it is the simple way to do it.  By the presence of a physical standby first you have already confirmed the network and most of the settings for Data Guard so that you can focus on only the logic of the standby database configuration.

    Chapter 3 of this book, it's easy:

  • Question about the management of data Cache OBIEE 10g / 11g.

    Hi friends,

    I have a question: how we can find the display of data in the report (in the answers or dashboard) if Cache or paintings of DW? y at - there no mechanism for this? I know that normally we can find data in tables of aggregation using file view log. Can you please help on this and I would really appreciate your help.

    Cheers!
    Srini

    Add the suggestions above, to find the query caches

    1. use followed - cache_ind_flg O/N indicates whether or not the application has reached the cache.
    2 NQQuery.log will show "cache hit" (if not you will see SQL to the physical database)

    There is no mechanism to track if it hits the browser cache / cache of presentation server.

    I hope this helps...

  • Question about LGWR Sync for Data Guard

    Hi all
    I have a general question related to guard data. We have a primary database of CARS and a day before RAC database which is two thousand miles. If I ping the main site backup site, the average response time is 30 ~ 50 miliseconds. We intend to configure the DG mode of maximum availability with the LGWR SYNCHRONIZATION options. If the ping network takes at least 30 milliseconds, it will add milliseconds to at least 30 x 2 late before primary LGWR can write to the primary database. Anyone have a similar experience? It will have an impact on the performance of the database? Is the case, we will use Maximum performance mode or maximum availability with the ASYNC option? Feedback is very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    From a point of view, really, it should depend on your business and functional requirements. If your company can afford to lose performance of database data, then you must use mode maximum performance with the ASYNC option. In my opinion, with the configuration of Eve where the backup servers are at 2,000 miles, I'd go with maximum performance mode.

  • Question about reading the hex data

    Hello! I'm a Novice of Labview and have a problem with reading the hex data.

    Basically, I bytes from the serial port like this: "80100E0E0AB4F646F24A00911267087E032080057FFF."

    It is not encoded in ASCII. What I want to do is to convert a hexadecimal string ASCII of the hexagon.

    I think that the following might be a solution, but I have no idea what the Subvi is in the solution.

    You use too much a lot of code for all this. All you need is a concatenate strings, replace your entire and other loop. Same result.

    Public Sub setTime(long date) defines an object Date existing using time value given in milliseconds. If the value of milliseconds given contains time information, the driver will set the components at the time in the default time zone (zone of the Java virtual machine running the application) which corresponds to zero GMT.

  • I have a simple question about the meta-data.

    Hello. It is a simple question about the meta-data. How can I get the video bitrate of a flv or mp4 (video playing via NetStream file) file

    right now I have this:

    Code
    var netClient:Object = new Object();
    netClient.onMetaData = function(meta:Object)
    {
    for (var in meta props) {}
    trace (props + ":" + meta [props]);
    }
    MovieClip (root) .durations = meta.duration;
    trace (MovieClip (root) .durations);
    };
    NS.client = netClient;

    And my output is:

    videocodecid: avc1
    audiocodecid: m4as
    aacaot: 2
    Width: 960
    AudioChannels: 2
    videoframerate: 23.976
    TrackInfo: [object Object], [object Object]
    moovposition: 32
    avcprofile: 77
    audiosamplerate: 48000
    avclevel: 31
    seekpoints: [object Object], [object Object], [object Object], [object Object]
    height: 540
    Duration: 221.312

    As you can see, there is nothing of video bitrate.

    I know that the video bitrate of my videos, but then I have to manually type each number of bitrate into my flash project, and it would be such a fuss when I have a lot of videos. Would be nice if flash can detect the video bitrate.

    It's for my online portfolio.

    Why you divide by 8?  If you want to convert bytes into bits, multiply by 8.

  • Question about partitions on Equium A100-027

    Hi all!

    I'm new to the forum but have been hidden for a while and he thought at the time that I said "Hello".

    This and the fact that I have a question about my laptop Satellite A100-027.
    The hard drive on my laptop seems to be divided into three partitions = Vista (c) / data (E :) / WinRE (d) with the WinRE (D :) is quite small but others, quite large.))

    My C drive is up to 3 that GB free with about 35 GB of free data (E :) is possible to merge these two to give me a big drive? And if so, how?
    Please excuse my ignorance, but it seems impossible to me to "get my head around" this thing hard drive and would split the a large hard drive.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated and once again, Hello to all.

    Hello

    As the user previous already said, you can manage HARD drive partitions in disk management settings.

    If you n t want to have a data partition (e) then you can try to delete it in disk management.
    Then you can add this empty space of the HARD drive for other partitions on the HARD drive.

    But note; the empty space will be placed at the end of the HARD drive. I don't know if your C partition is placed as a second HARD drive partition, but if so, then it should be no problem to add empty space to partition C (System) of m.

  • Questions about Stor.e TV +.

    Does anyone have a contact point to raise a complaint about the lack of service from Toshiba? I spent £160 on a TV + Stor.e and did have some problems with it, as you can see from the few posts that I raised. After spending £160 on a point I don't understand why if the forum is the only option to support what he is no Toshiba engineers on this issue, who are able to answer my questions. I do not expect a 24 / 7 hotline for £160 I spent, but it would be good to know that a Toshiba engineer could answer my questions about their products. Especially since it's the second one I had which suffers from a cosmetic defect, I had to stick to feet about it as the Unit came with 4 pads ride around the box. I also have my doubts about the HDMI because it seems to be very sensitive to any movement in the area, causing the connection to remove.

    I got a Western Digital box media for more than five years and had no problem with this, the only reason why I changed, it was to make use of the connection to the local network, the HDMI connection and the fact it supported more than file formats. FSR this device was abit of a disappointment for me. So if someone could point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

    Hello

    I can understand that you are not happy with the current situation and usually if you buy a product it should properly expect and do no problem.

    As you probably already seen here it s a user to only user forum. This means that you can speak with normal people like you and me and there is no official support from Toshiba.

    In your case, it would be best if you contact an authorized service provider or call the Toshiba UK. The phone number, you can find on the site of Toshiba UK Web:
    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

    Just give the guy a call and explain your situation. I'm sure they can give you a detailed answer and if your TV Stor.e + must be repaired or not. When warranty hardware repair is free.

    I hope I could help you a little bit :)

  • A few questions about Toshiab reocvery disk for Satellite P300-133

    Hello guys,.
    I had a few questions about unpleasant surprises of recovery:

    (* 1) * I just make recovery DVD using Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator and he asked initially for 2 DVDs - but when one has been done it does not require a second blank DVD. Is it possible all the Windows Vista system files to write on 1 DVD?

    (* 2) * if I could reinstall Windows Vista using recovery of HARD drive option (by pressing F8) without using the recovery DVD?

    (* 3) * HARD drive partitions that will be formatted (just system C: or C: and E :) using HARD drive recovery?

    (* 4) * what is DVD - Image of the hard drives or the installation of Vista recovery files?

    Its pretty bad idea to not include BONES on DVD when I paid for it.
    Thanks for all the Toshiba problems :(

    1. I think the recovery disk creator means 2 CDs. I also have a Portege M700 with Windows Vista and a DVD. I got it and after that, I have a clean install of Vista with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. Nothing is missing.

    2. Yes, you can reinstall Vista using recovery of HARD drive option when you press F8 at startup. You don't need the recovery DVDs, but you should create a when your HARD drive get some errors or something else. If you need a new recovery DVDs, you paid for one.

    3 HARD drive and complete partitions will be formatted, so backup your data first on a DVD disk external DRIVE, USB stick or something else.
    After the reinstallation, you have factory settings.

    4. the recovery DVDs is an image of the HARD disk on the factory settings. If you perform a recovery, there are all the drivers and tools are already installed. Of course, on the disk are files of installations of Vista, but you can use this DVD on your Satellite P300. The disc cannot be used on another Satellite or on a PC.

    If you have any other questions, take a look in the user manual. There are a number in the formations of the recovery. It s in Chapter 3.

  • Questions about an average of response spectrum and frequency of feeding mode.

    Hello

    I have a few questions about an average of mode. When I generate a sinusoidal signal from one output to two input channels channel to see if my DAQ card works well and vector averaged in the power spectrum for DFT, the amplitudes was different from the previous one of the amplitude, which was supposed to be 1 v peak. They range from 0.5 v to 0.6 v peak. When the calculation of the average model is RMS, the amplitudes were close to 1. I wonder what are the fomulas of RMS and average vector. Does that mean that I could not accurate if I use an average of vector? In a time of frequency response, why I coherences of difference and the amplitudes using the vector and the mean quadratic value?

    The differences in modes of generation are as they sound: 1 sample output only a sample writing, N samples will be released however many samples configure you for each entry, and the continuous samples released samples continuously until a specified user action happens (you press the stop button or a logic that you created gets fulfulled). The range of Signal output allows you to set a ceiling high and low level of your output signal and it only affects the quality keeping in this beach. Timing to set a deadline for the time between the acquisition of the sample. If a new sample becomes unavailable before the timeout setting, you will get an error. This is useful for looking at a network, because if the network goes down and you stop getting data from a machine and then you would like to know about it. I point you to those videos that are short tutorials on how to make the most of these actions in SignalExpress.The SignalExpress 3.0 Help file is also your first point of contact for all your questions on getting started. These two resources should get you up and running in SignalExpress in no time. (either by the way all your questions answered using these resources) Bravo!
