  I can tell you information that is not quite correct. So let me correct myself. The issue you described a 247402 really known problem that has been fixed in CVI 2010. You can read about it in the CVI 2009 known issues list. The question that I linked above is actually a separate, but similar, the description and the question could have a little misleading.   To be honest I n don't know what you want at the moment.
  You want to upgrade your laptop or you want to make Windows faster?

  I put t know what programs you have installed, but after you remove all the programs you need t n you should clean your system using CCleaner.
  Also disable any startup programs you start n t need in msconfig and start menu folder. Don t forget to defragment your HARD drive.
  In the worst cases, you need to reinstall Windows. Not all Windows problems can be solved without complete new installation.

  Last but not least the Equium L10 can be upgraded to 1 GB of RAM. This can also help you to make Windows faster.

  I had a similar behavior on my old satellite 1900. At the end I checked the HARD drive and there are lots of bad sectors. At the beginning everything was OK, but after the installation of a few different satellite applications was slower and slower.

  In the end, I switched HDD and everything was OK again. I recommend you to check the HARD drive to see if there are some bad sectors. If so buy new HARD drive. Repair of sector help much.
