  Are you just wanting to restrict access to specific members to enter data to or it also includes being able to 'see' only the data based on some examples.  For example, in the type of financing plan, I have write access to the Dept 123 for all accounts of actual Net profit, I want they have read access to this Department?  In this case, I would make sure that specific effective accounts, that I make sure that the user/group has only read access.

  Worked with the 4.0.2 planning before and I'm trying to get a new installation of the operating system 9.3.1.
  
  I installed Shared Services and planning. Can connect to shared as admin/password Services. Using this account, I was also able to add a "user directory" using MSAD. Click on 'Test' and it works. How to go about adding my Windows CE account and put in place to be administrator?

  Hi Dan,.

  If you have correctly configured your user directory, you should be able to find your account MSAD using search. Once you find the user account, you can then go ahead and available to the user and it confers no rights.

  I normally create an aboriginal group and then the group. After that, I add MSAD users to the group.

  If is a migration between environments and shared services in the same place then the MSAD accounts must be exactly the same.
  If it is different, then the updateusers utility resolves the differences.

  No charge is just for essbase.
  You can use a rule to load to load directly into essbase for a planning application, but you can not for metadata.

  2. the user has read/write access to the data of the current year, period

  That's how it worked since I started working on Essbase in version 3. The user will be allowed to lock parts of the database that enables its filter. But can can calculate anything in the database that is in a calculation, to which he has access. It's funny, loading rules comply with the access to the filter.

  Try reinstalling the program by selecting the option to provide access to all user accounts.

  I don't think that the Parental controls in Vista can control access to the individual files of the system (programs, a lot of things on the internet, but not this one).

  If you have Vista Business, Vista Enterprise and Vista Ultimate, you can use the encryption of files to block access to the files/folders that you don't want other users to be able to access (except for administrators who can override the settings, but you'll know).  Here's how: http://computershopper.com/software/howto/encrypting-files-in-windows-vista.

  If you do not have these versions, try Lock Folder http://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/ (the free version should do the trick if the paid version has more options).  Still, it uses encryption to block access.

  I work on a PDF form and am stuck on one of my calculations. There are two fields 'desired Start Date", which is a date entered by the user. The "desired end" date is one year from date entered by the user. I figured out - however, before the user enters a date, I want this field remains empty. Currently, it fills with 01/00/000. How can I get this field to calculate not unless a date is entered by the user? So far, I tried this but can not get the blank to stay:

  You may need to change the date format "mm/dd/yyyy", I used to match the formats of date fields.
