  Your old catalog is still there, use the file-> open the recent item

  The error "cannot be read" indicates that the folder where your photos are to be copied in has no WRITE permission. Change your permissions on this folder.

  You can select the images and delete them.

  Press and hold the image in Lightroom Mobile which will bring up the options menu and you can choose to delete.

  I am importing existing (on disk) Camera RAW (.) CR2) photos in Lightroom.

  I read that it is a good idea to convert Camera RAW files to DNG, so I chose the option copy Photos as Digital Negative (DNG) and add to the catalog.  I also chose to backup the files when you import on an external drive.  DNG files that are created are copied into the new central repository on my hard drive where I keep all my photos that are managed by Lightroom.  The original. CR2 files are left where they were originally.

  I have two questions:

  1. is there a justification to keep the original. Cr2 files in the old file once I converted to DNG in the new central repository?

  2. When does the backup import Lightroom backup of the original. CR2, DNG format files on my external hard drive. Does make sense?  If the disk containing my. How can DNG photos breaks down, I use the container backup. CR2 files if Lightroom is expected to make them. DNG ones?

  Of course, it is a matter of opinion, but once you've decided to switch to DNG, and you converted your CR2 files, I would empty the original CR2 on DVD files, I hope never to be looked at again.  Then include your DNG in a normal backup routine that includes an external hard drive on the spot and online, the off-site source as well. The backup in place when importing is not intended to save the newly created, just DNG the imported the files themselves.  In rare cases, the conversion of the DNG format has a little problem and until you have a chance to look at each image, keep the original CR2s somewhere, but not necessarily easily accessible, is logical.   You may not have lost any resolution... or you can understand the word "resolution" bad

  Resolution isn't the file size, which are the numbers you are quoting. So the 1.3 MB changing to 542KB does not indicate a change in resolution. If you export the picture and let the box that says "Resize to Fit" disabled, so you don't waste no resolution at all, even if the file size has changed.

  The time required to download the product depends on the speed of your internet connection.

  The download cannot be suspended once launched, it will stop when you are finished, or if you cancel it.

  If you see it is stuck or not moving not quite so if please cancel the download and refer to the steps below and try the download again: (these steps will also increase the speed of downloading as security software can also slow your downloads)

  I had this problem for a while, long enough so that I don't remember in which version it was the behavior surfaced.

  In short, during the import (for example, an SD card) and on the map are the pictures which had been previously imported, LR selects not only photos that are new (in other words, was not imported).

  I changed my behavior to remove the SD card after I have confirmed that the photos have been saved (for off-site storage) so I don't have to deal with him on the road, but nevertheless, I prefer the appropriate behavior.

  And you always have the option checked for - "don't import suspected duplicates?

  And you always let Lightroom enough time to check your complete catalog to determine whether "duplicates" exist already by a previous import.

  Is it possible that changing the names of files and metadata on previously imported files prevents LR to determine that there is a "double".  (A LR guru could answer this question!)

  I've never known your problem because I always download camera card and the camera allows re - format the card before using it next. So my cards still have only 'new' images.
