access to the Clipboard

Hi people,

IM thinking of switching IE10 browsers to firefox. In IE10 I could control programmatic access to the Clipboard by disabling and so stop the Web sites of the capture of text/data I stored in the local Clipboard.

What is firefox to stop this feat? I check the security features of browsers before I spend.

Thank you very much.

Can you guys name some legitimate reasons that perhaps a website dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to be true? I mean, something affecting actually features?

(No, preventing me to use the copy and paste or, worse, put ads in my clipboard do not count as legitimate, functional uses.)

  • How to make CutOperation puts the text cut to the Clipboard?

    I have a class that inherits from the EditManager class and provides these methods:

    public function performCopy():void

    {

    var copyOperation:CopyOperation = new CopyOperation (getSelectionState());

    doOperation (action);

    }

    public function performCut():void

    {

    var textToCut:TextScrap = TextScrap.createTextScrap (getSelectionState());

    var cutOperation:CutOperation = new CutOperation (getSelectionState(), textToCut);

    doOperation (cutOperation);

    }

    PerformCopy works very well and makes the text copied to the Clipboard.

    PerformCut deletes as planned, but don't put it on the Clipboard.

    The documentation for CutOperation says "edit Manager is responsible for copying of the text scrap to the Clipboard. Cancel a cut operation does not restore the original Clipboard State. »

    No idea what I could do wrong?

    Thank you

    Stefan

    You can call TextClipboard.setContents (textScrap) to scrap that you made on the system Clipboard. For an example of how this is done in the TLF, see EditManager.as function editHandler. Note that this can only be done as part of a trial to CUT or COPY, except if you run on AIR (access to the Clipboard is subject to the security sandbox).

    Hope this helps,

  • How can I access my copy and paste the clipboard history to return a paragraph?

    I was on Facebook and I cut and paste a few answers to a friends post when Facebook, remove the previous cut and paste on the wall of the person.  How can I go back in the history of the Clipboard and access a previous cut and paste paragraph?

    Rather than write it all over again from memory, it would be much faster and easier if I could recover the previous cut and paste.

    Does make sense?

    Thanks for any help.

  • How to access the Clipboard Premiere Pro?

    I don't know if I need to use the SDK for it or not.

    Basically, I want to be able to COPY items different lots of first, as presets, transitions and clips... in the Clipboard, one at the time and then all of this Clipboard information SAVE somewhere where it will not be overwritten when the next thing is copied to the Clipboard.

    Then I'll program a system (probably using AutoHotKey) where any particular item can be recalled and placed in the active Clipboard, then pasted directly into the first as usual.

    This would allow me to use customized keyboard shortcuts to instantly apply any effect I want, any transition I want and any group of clips that I want the timeline... incredibly easy and flawless.

    I tried to use the function clipboardAll() to autohotkey (Clipboard and ClipboardAll), but it does work for the copied elements in first... only for the text and images and things like that. It seems to me that the first has its own special Clipboard it uses for the more complicated things like copy effects or clips on the timeline.

    Once again, my question is, how to access the Clipboard Premiere Pro ? Where this file is located in the Windows? I searched through all folders in AppData first and I don't see anything that resembled the Clipboard information... I do not know if this is the right place to look.

    I downloaded the SDK, but I don't see any information on the Clipboard in the included help file, so I don't know if the SDK may be useful for this.

    I am so, so grateful if someone could help me with this. I'm a video editor, not a programmer, so this kind of thing is not very easy for me.

    There is no way to access the Clipboard Premiere Pro, in the way you described.

    What do you do with the items you want to copy? Perhaps there is another way.

  • Clipboard.AutoCopy = false in topic: config,-no effect. selection of text always copy to the Clipboard

    I have a custom firefox extension that captures data on the Clipboard, as well as a selected text in the document in firefox. It is, whenever I select the text, it replaces the data in the Clipboard with the data of selected text. The Clipboard is always mirroring my text selection. I need to turn it off. Alternatively, make sure that the selected text gets sent to primary Clipboard, while firefox extension accesses Clipboard. (I guess that nsIClipboard retrieves data from the Clipboard vs primary school-press-papers).

    I am convinced that selected text is poured in the Clipboard and not the primary Clipboard. Selected text always overrides everything I copied using Ctrl + C command. Central to the mouse click or Ctrl + V out same thing.

    I have changed the default setting in about:config to clipboard.autocopy value= false. I have restarted my system and selected text still saves to clipboard. This issue does show up on this thread here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=854565. But it is checked as solved. Apologies if this question should have been posted there. I am using Linux Mint 17, Firefox 32.0.3

    Any help much appreciated.

    I solved the problem. Firstly, I've updated all my software, which had no effect. Then I realized that another extension can add this feature. And voila! I'm sure that search the fastest was the culprit. I disabled the addon, even though this feature can probably be disabled.

    I hope this helps future users who face this same problem.

  • How to use the Clipboard with some sites

    I use the copy and paste function from the Clipboard frequently to allow access to certain pages. It worked fine until I updated Firefox to the latest version of 29,0. It doesn't work anymore! I followed the usual instructions to create a user.js file and place it in the profile directory. But the problem is still there. Need help with this problem.

    You can do this is through buttons using JavaScript to make the paste.

    You can only do this via the keyboard.

    Use keyboard shortcuts if the buttons on the web page or other methods do not work.

  • How to convert a Contact card in text format on the Clipboard?

    OMG, how to copy the text into a Contact card in the Clipboard to plain text?

    This violates some divinity of Apple? Why is it so difficult?

    Help!

    Different Contact item fields to copy to the Clipboard, but not the entire Contact. You will need to export the Contact information in vCard document (text) and then access the content later.

    You can select a contact from the Panel on the left request name and drag it to your desktop. It lands as a vCard (name.vcf).  You can also select the desired contact name and in the file menu: export: export vCard...

    Run the following command in the Terminal. It will display the vcard in the form of text content in the Terminal.

    AWK ' / BEGIN: VCARD /, / PHOTO; ENCODING / {print x}; {x = $0}' ~/Desktop/filename.vcf

    If you would like this out of text to the Clipboard, then

    AWK ' / BEGIN: VCARD /, / PHOTO; ENCODING / {print x}; {x = $0}' ~/Desktop/filename.vcf | pbpaste

    There is no standard Python and Ruby libraries for reading vCard directly and printing field information of easy to use, instead of all the gibberish of vCard.

  • Control to the Clipboard

    Is it possible to copy a control to the Clipboard? As I discovered is is possible to paste text into the windows clipboard. My intention is to create a small application that finds GPIB-addresses from a network definition file and copy to a VISA-resource (or constant) control to the Clipboard. Thus, in any VI I can run just my little app that I start from the LabView Menu, select my device and have a constant resource VISA or a control to the Clipboard the idea so far. It is possible to copy and paste a control from a VI-is it possible by programming?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ben

    Not all browsers support the option parts hanging out. Save the image to your hard drive, and then drag it from there in a vacuum VI.

    As a general rule, access the new VI object primitives and other scripts options to enable the script in the Options dialog box (in 2010, in earlier versions, you need to download the installer API script separately).

  • Script to examine the Clipboard before pasting

    I had some success using an beforePaste() event listener to help users avoid pasting text formatted in places where they should not. This script could be a lot smarter if it would first make the contents of the Clipboard. Even a simple count of paragraphs would be a great help.

    Crew on this forum, it is clear that the more current idea to check the contents of the Clipboard in the JS is to create a temporary text box, paste in and then to get the content of the temporary image. But I think remember that AppleScript was directly access the contents of the Clipboard and having read VBscript might as well.

    So: someone at - it a code snippet that shows how to use VBscript to get the content of the Clipboard and send it to javascript?

    The following works on Mac and theoretically should work on Windows, but I don't have an easy way to test at the moment.

    alert(GetClipboard());
    function GetClipboard(){
        var clipboard;
        if(File.fs == "Macintosh"){
            var script = 'tell application "Finder"\nset clip to the clipboard\nend tell\nreturn clip';
            clipboard = app.doScript (script,ScriptLanguage.APPLESCRIPT_LANGUAGE);
        } else {
            var script = 'Set objHTML = CreateObject("htmlfile")\r'+
            'returnValue = objHTML.ParentWindow.ClipboardData.GetData("text")';
            clipboard = app.doScript(script,ScriptLanguage.VISUAL_BASIC);

    Operating instructions that can help you:

    (1) open Photoshop.

    (2) hold down 'Alt', 'Control' and 'Shift' at the same time as the launch of the program.

    Thanks for the help.

    I found the answer.

    RT-click on the comments (I rt-click on the stamp tool) toolbar

    Select Show all the annotation tools.

    There you go, now just to rt - click again in this area and remove the additional tools that came by deselecting them.

  • How can I copy the list of names of files in the finder and set the Clipboard filenames separated by commas?

    Hi guys, I was wonder if anyone can give me a hand with a script.

    I need to be able to paste a list of file names of the files as follows:

    0001.jpg 0002.jpg 0003.jpg 0004.jpg

    At the moment, if I select the files in the Finder, copy to the Clipboard and paste them in TextEdit, they are like this:

    0001.jpg

    0002.jpg

    0003.jpg

    0004.jpg

    I found a similar but slightly different script and I don't know how to change it. Here it is:

    Define extension_list to {"jpg", "" JPG","jpeg","JPEG"}

    the value cbNames (Clipboard text) paragraphs

    Set csvNames to {}

    the tid value delimiters to point to the text of the AppleScript

    the text value of the AppleScript point delimiters ".»

    -now, make a list of names without extensions

    Repeat with the names in cbNames

    If the point 2 of the text names is extension_list then

    copy of text 1 of names at the end of csvNames

    end if

    end repeat

    Journal csvNames

    -now the filenames as comma CONCATENATE string separated

    the text value of the point delimiters AppleScript «»

    csvNames value cross-as text

    the text value of the point AppleScript delimiters tid

    There is an easier way. Open a TextEdit document and paste the list in. Place the cursor at the end of the first item and drag it to the start of the second.

    Press on + command + c to copy and then command + f to bring up find it. Press command + v (do not click in the first search field). Check the 'Replace' box, click in the field replace, and then type a comma and a space.

    Click 'All' and then 'done '.
