    Hi, Scrivmark

The default C: drive system is not intended to access directly by users and therefore users have restricted access to its root in the premeditated or premeditated damage prevention vital system files. If you are an administrator you can allow full access to your account to all or specific files on drive c (including a root folder) by editing its ' authorization of the lists by right-clicking on a file and choosing "Security."
If you are not an administrator, you should ask another user whose account is Administrator (or equivalent) privileges to access the interesting files to your account.

  • How to restict access to the folder on the computer to other users on the same computer

I'm trying to configure the control perental on the computer and I can't work, how restict access to the file

I don't think that the Parental controls in Vista can control access to the individual files of the system (programs, a lot of things on the internet, but not this one).

If you have Vista Business, Vista Enterprise and Vista Ultimate, you can use the encryption of files to block access to the files/folders that you don't want other users to be able to access (except for administrators who can override the settings, but you'll know).  Here's how: http://computershopper.com/software/howto/encrypting-files-in-windows-vista.

If you do not have these versions, try Lock Folder http://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/ (the free version should do the trick if the paid version has more options).  Still, it uses encryption to block access.

    I hope this helps.

  • Disable access to the folder where the software places newspapers

Hello, I have this little problem. I use custom software that writes logs to the particular directory. Newspapers are not required for software work, however I or someone else can modify the software, but I want to prevent it from creating newspapers. Newspapers are made in .txt. Oh and software/machine are / should be running with administrator privileges (UAC is disabled).
I tried the folder with foldertolock/e/p of blocking everyone cacls: n, after doing this I can not access it via Explorer, but newspapers keep get saved in this folder.
I also tried adding + r for the folder attribute, but it does not affect it in any way.

All the other things I could try? I wish it could be done remotely via cmd/registry/whatever.

  • Essbase users have write access to the folder F:\Hyperion

    Guys,

I have a question concerning access to the F:\Hyperion folder. Unalterable of Essbase users need to have write/modify access to the F:\Hyperion\AnalyticServices folder.
I know that users who is using the Regional service Console should have change access to folder F:\Hyperion where EAS Console is installed. I wonder because when we allow
connection request for users, the .qlg files will be created in the folder of the database with the information of the users.

Other than AnalyticServices(if needed) or AnalyticAdminServices, are there other issues that we need to provide some access to normal users (HFR)?

    Thanks in advance,
    HYPuser

Normal users need not access to this folder. Only administrators may need to access to the file for the purpose of loading data from the server files.

  • Access to the library via another application

I am putting together a photo book with a 3rd party software and am unable to access my photo library on the mac book.  This seems to have become a problem since the migration of iPhotos to photos.  When I try to send pictures of this library, it is grayed out and is not accessible.  Also seems to be the case if trying to attach a photo in gmail.  Any ideas anyone?

What software do you use?  Done is to have an option to import file ➙

and, if so, is there an option of media browser in the next window?  It might resemble the following Preview:

If you can access the library of Photos in this way with your software, you need to export the photos you want to use a folder on the desktop and access them with your software.

With Gmail, you must set up E-mail as a client for your Gmail account

and then you can use the Share button to get the pictures selected in a Gmail email:

For clients VPN access to these subnets, check the following:

1 NAT exemption include these subnets (if not using NAT)... it's the NAT0 ACL command

    2. these subnets is included in the split tunneling

    3. these subnets have a route to the PIX to send traffic to the VPN client pool.

  • How to restore the permissions for the folder

I work with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 10.

Initially I tried see my Cookies folder and eventually he finds in C:\Users\(my user name).  I wanted to look at the files and potentially manually remove some, but I was not allowed access to the folder.  I am the sole owner and the user of that PC.  I figured it would give me full permission for files and folders.

I tried to change the permissions on the folder, and even if the properties show that I have all permissions except "Special permissions" I was unable to open the folder.

A second possibility, I changed the permissions 'All' allow all these same permissions - I clicked on full control.  A warning window appears saying that there are permissions that were more in agreement and it is potentially unstable.  I then decided to cancel this change all the permissions back, but am currently not able to restore the original permissions.  I am really unable to change all permissions to this folder now.

I would like to restore the permissions on this folder Cookies in their original condition / by default.  Can someone help me?

ALSO: since my original post, I noticed that in the icon beside my C:\username\ subdirectory when you view it in Solution Explorer, there is a lock.  I don't know if it was there before.  Is this a normal representation / by default to the directory?

    Is this possible? How?

What is the size of your C:\ partition?

How much space do you have?

You can be at a point where the drive with a larger replacement * is * your preferred method.

If you did the following and do not receive enough free space, you're right here.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 20 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.  All the foregoing that * your * stuff (indeed, for most of the systems Windows XP, nothing beyond 10 GB is probably your stuff) and you should consider some other containers to storage for things (photos, music, videos, etc.) you use all day on this computer (or some ties or extra storage installed so you can still use it on a daily basis without using the C:\ drive space.)

If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.
