Security 0176 - the system has been tampered with
The machine is therefore a T40. He had no no password for at least the 2 years ive had it. The main battery was bad and the cmos battery died recently (id assume bad main battery helped along).
After replacing the cmos battery (tested with v-meter and it shows 3.23v) Im getting this error message. When I click ok to goto setup it asks password. But when I hit enter it leaves me without any problems. Its also never done this before the cmos battery is dead.
Under Security, it says disabled lock bios setting. Power and HDD 1 is also disabled.
I thought trying to reset to the default values, but when I Press f9 it does not work. No idea if this key is broken, ive never used.
Info from the BIOS 3.21 (1RETDPWW)
On-board version 3.04
Someone has ideas of what to try? I know that toshiba has had a similar problem with some models there, but they included a cmos reset jumper on motherboards out there to reset the default settings of the bios.
Ive seen thinkpads with all 0's on the UUID before where were going to the boards, but it contains a correct number.
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do? Its an older machine so card mother isn't really a practical value.
Your T40 has a supervisor on that password, that's why you can't reset defaults, etc..
Die the CMOS battery has raised this issue, where the error message.
Use it as not is not that you can do short of permutation of the motherboard.
Good luck.

Error: The task image is damaged or has been tampered with 0 x 80041321
I recently returned to windows7 home premium after using windows 10. Now when I try to save it on my external hard drive Seagate, it says no backup has been set up. So, I put in place and while doing that, I get the message "the image of the task is damaged or has been tampered with (0 x 80041321). So I tried again and said that I would choose the stuff to back up. I unchecked the box to include an image of the disk system. The same problem. My external hard drive works. I went back to the 10 7 on my laptop and can backup on the external drive without problem. Suggestions?
Well, this means that not only your broken backup job are (yet) but if all other Windows 7 tasks planned - as you can see, when you open Task Scheduler.
There is a fix for this problem with scheduled tasks that you can investigate:
A nice person Dijji he named has already understood this problem and developed a method/nifty program to redress the scheduled tasks and people report that this method works very well and you can read about it here:
https://repairtasks.codeplex.com/
It might help to better understand the problem if you read through the House and the Documentation tab first if you can walk through the repair process. Note that there is a separate tab of Discussion where people report the successes, issues, questions and problems. The Discussions are useful too when you read them and see what kinds of things people that you meet and how to fix them.
There are a few other issues MS Answers where the CodePlex solution straightened things (you can see that it actually works).
CodePlex has worked for other people:
If you browse these topics, you need to browse all the other ideas that do not work, but ultimately the work of methods of CodePlex.
CodePlex solution is where to go next if you want to attach to the top of your scheduled tasks.

Original title: backup Windows 7
Hi Mark,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I would say first of all allows you to check if the Volume Shadow Copy service is running.
1. click on Start, type Services in start search. When the page is open, find shadow copy Volume service.
2. right clickon the Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS) and check whether it is started.
3. If it is stopped, select Start or restart.
Check if you are able to backup.
Step 2: If you have installed a third-party security software, then try to temporarily disable the security software and check what is happening.
Step 3: You can also try to remove the task from the location:
C:\Windows\System32\TasksHow to find which task is damaged or altered.
3. click on Start; Search type cmd in the list on the start menu, programs, right click on cmd and run as administrator.
4. now run the following commandschtasks/query | findstr /i
Search:
ERROR: the task image is damaged or has been tampered with.
ERROR: task cannot be loaded: the task nameFind the name of the task, try deleting the task name, and then try to recreate.
See the link below that solves your problem.
1. click on Start, type Task Scheduler in the start search box, and then click Task Scheduler in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
2. in the Actions of the Task Scheduler dialog box, click on create a new task.
Check whether the problem is resolved.
Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

I have Windows 7 and I am unable to back up files. The following message appears: "the task image is corrupt or has been tampered with. I used an ERD without result. The application discovers not a problem. At the same time, I received a message that the Bitlocker system files could not be found. I tried Windows 10 briefly then back to Windows 7.
