  • Photoshop CS6 will not open the file image (.jpg, .dng and .cr2)

    Hello

I recently reinstalled my laptop (64-bit) Windows 7 Pro. It has all the necessary Windows updates.

I installed Photoshop CS6 (64 and 32-bit) and I've installed all the updates it needs.

It will not open any JPG or RAW, .tif, .jpg, .dng and .cr2 files. Before you reinstall Windows Photoshop worked well.

When I try to open an image file that Photoshop does not open, so the file type is associated with Photoshop, but that's all. The software is running, but it won't open the jpg or tif, and it does not open Camera Raw to display the RAW file.

If I double-click on a new image, then a new instance of Photoshop is open, in addition to the already open instance, but still no picture.

If I click file-open and navigate to the file it will then open in Photoshop and Camera Raw 9.1.1 and the picture shows successfully.

    Strange!

The only thing I think currently, is that I have 2 partitions on the laptop, with C: and a D: readers, with the users folder, which is held on D. Photoshop is confused by there? Well it is exactly how the laptop has always been in place, and it was already defined in this way before Photoshop has been installed.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall. I tried to install just Photoshop 64 Bit, not 32 bit (I don't really know why I get the two offered, to be honest.)

I am now lost and would like to receive helpful suggestions!

    I "solved" this problem!

It seems that Photoshop won't open these files from a Windows 7 'Library' that points to a redirected folder.

However, if I create a mapped drive with a drive letter local, the actual path of the files, (for example \\Server\FolderRedirections\Michael\Pictures), then it works OK.

It is a good work-round and it makes no difference to me if I use a mapped drive or library I put just one correct, in the section 'Favorites' from Windows Explorer.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, that helped me a lot. I hope this answer helps someone else, even if my situation may not be a common scenario.

  • Access to the open dialog box causes RoboHelp hang and eventually crash.

Whenever I am trying to take an action that requires the dialog box 'open' Windows, RoboHelp begins to hang and eventually crashes.

My only thought: I've seen other .NET applications to have problems like this, where the framework steals focus from the window of the dialog Windows. Could it happen here?

We never seen anything like this? Any ideas?

    Thank you very much!

What is the dialog even make an appearance? Or should he behave as if the dialog box is there but invisible?

If the former, I would say that smells like a bug somewhere. But if it's the latter attempt, pressing and holding your Windows key on the keyboard. Then press the arrow key to the left a couple of times. Will be under certain conditions of the dialog boxes appear but be out of visible space. If that happened, this key combination should coax the window in the visible area.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Does not / will not open, I tried safe mode, rest and unintstalling and restalling; again does not help.

Two days ago, that I closed firefox and my computer is shut down. A few hours later I tried on firefox and it didn't do anything so I had to force it quit. I tried several times to return nothing doesn't. I tried to reset firefox which did not work. I tried to start in safe mode, which brought at least a window as he went to work, but he did give me the thorny ball for about an hour. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. I even went through my computer everything and deleted everything related to firefox (including caches) restart my computer and reinstall firefox and restart my computer again. I can never even a window pop up, unless I use safe mode (but which freezes and does not even load a page)... All I get is "the application is not responding. The only thing I could think (because it's the only thing I did my browser) is only a day or two before that I closed firefox, I had to take a survey for a job that required me to check the box "delete history when firefox closes." I forgot to change it until I closed the browser, and I can't go back to the preferences to change it because it does not.

Then the profile was infact deleted somehow, article that I posted before should help you make a new.

    Help.

I think that he has ceased to work with the installation of the new monitor.

Photoshop can get real messed up when preference files become corrupt.  Won't start not, it's a.  Photoshop preferences becomes corrupted is a common problem Adobe programmed into a device starts to reset these and a shortcut to trigger the start function.

These preferences can survive uninstalling and reinstalling the software Adobe

On your Windows 7 Photoshop system down and turns do not use control panel option applet tab settings folder view to show hidden files and folders not hide them. Once you do that use the windows explored folder see if you can fine a folder like "C:\Users\Your user ID\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3"

If you can find this file rename it to "C:\Users\Your user ID\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3xx.

    Then restart Photoshop...

  • Need help - Acrobat 9.4 will not open scanned documents

I have a computer in my office that will not open documents scanned into Acrobat 9.4. Acrobat opens but is just a gray screen.  Documents that have been converted to PDF from Word/Excel/etc format will be opened very well.

Adobe Reader 10 X is also installed on the computer and open up scanned documents, but the user should be able to go and edit documents, this drive is not enough for him.

    Troubleshooting ideas greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Because the scans are pictures you must go in Edition > Preferences > Page display and put a check mark in the box "Show large images" that should allow you to see the scans.

Acrobat Reader DC will not install. It goes about 85% and stops with a message that the file I am trying to achieve is on a network and not available.  Totally frustrated that many files need this program to open.

I got this program for years.  Update Windows 10 and after nothing more than headaches with he returned to Windows 7 and it is then Acrobat has stopped working.

    Hi lindat7439924,

There is no uninstall for Mac Reader program. You can directly delete the application from the Applications folder, which is just trash/Applications/Adobe Reader.app.

Then you can download Adobe reader from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

    Kind regards

  • Updated FireFox, restarted and now it will not open the browser, even if the icon does not appear in my taskbar. Was fine until the update last night. Win8.1 running

When I move the mouse over the icon in the taskbar that appears after that I have I dbl-clicked on the icon on the desktop, you can see a miniature version of the browser open as usual, unfortunately, the browser will not open upward on the desktop. I've deleted and reinstalled several times. It has worked very well until I did the update last night.

    Machine features:
    8.1 to win
    16 GB of RAM
    3 video concerts
    Processor AMD FX-6200 6 3.80 Ghz
    64 bit

Sometimes, a window is "off the screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the search for the start bar menu (or perhaps 8.x for Windows search of charms bar bar?) type or paste the following and press ENTER to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

  • Firefox 4 will not open thunderbird for mailto and send links

    I use Windows 7 Enterprise.
Since the FF4 update will not open Thunderbird when a mailto link or send the link is clicked. My system has Thunderbird selected as the default e-mail client, and these links work in other browsers.

Following some help online suggestions on selection of Firefox's default mail client:

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/changing%20The%20E-mail%20Program%20used%20by%20firefox?s=mailto & As = s

There is no option for 'mailto' or 'mail' in the content type window.

I suffered with this for weeks and finally worked around her.
Thunderbird has been defined as a client by default, but it does not work with some other customers as well, so I went to Default Programs / set program by default, Thunderbird selected, which was already defined as e-mail client by default, selected "Choose defaults for this program" and click Save. That fixed it for PDF Complete, but not for FF4.

In FF4, I changed the mailto option always Ask (it was Thunderbird (default)), then selected Thunderbird as client after picking send the link. It worked, so next time I checked the box in the dialog box always use Thunderbird and now it works. Grrr.

  • Textures ATF files will not open in Adobe Photoshop CC 2014

It is my understanding that this program opens the files of ATF textures. However, I have several sheets of game sprite in FAT format that CC 2014 will not open. I should add a particular plugin? If Yes, where can I download it? I use the program on a machine Windows 8.1. This is the dialog box, that I got while trying to open the ATF:

    PS CC 2014 msg box.jpg

Other formats such as PNG and JPG image open very well. You have a list of image formats that this program will open up, and a list of all not supported? It would help me greatly. CC 2014 to display and manipulate ATF ability was the main reason in the first place, I downloaded the program. If CC 2014 will not see ATF or convert them to PNG, do you (or can you suggest) a Windows desktop application that will be? Thank you.

I have Adobe Air installed and found an ATF2PNG.air conversion utility online. Does exactly what I need to. Works like a charm!
