    I'm in Windows 8.

I unplugged the drive N, that is our network drive. (Don't know why Acrobat tries to access this drive - no other applications only.)

Anyway, even with disconnected N the app still will not install.

    Any suggestions?

The solutions proposed on the link... http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/404/kb404946.html do not work. (Actually #2. refers to the installation of 200 MSOffice.)

It was my goofup... Please do not forget to type subst and not substr Z: "C:\Windows" in the prompt for admin.

The 'r' has added the source I copied and pasted from

With the good order setting of the 'invalid' reader, the acrobat installation succeeded.

    Hello
    1. what Internet browser do you use?
2 are you having the same problem with other browsers also?

Method 1: I suggest you try SFC running [System File Checker] scan on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 2: If the problem persists, you can try the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

    (a) click Start.
    (b) type regedit in the Start Search and press enter.
    (c) access the site mentioned below.
    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders"
    (d) then change the appdata read "% USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming" thing

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Try to install Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, get the error message that a newer version is already installed

Portable Acrobat Pro on a new computer installation.  At the point of download get the message "Setup has detected that you already have a better version product installed. The installation program will end now. "Acrobat Pro is NOT already installed, in any version.  What is the problem?

Thanks for the comments.  Drive and cleaning tool has not helped.  We found that the add-on PDF associated with FrameMaker was causing the issue.  Uninstalled FM and the add-on, and then was able to install Acrobat Pro without any problem.  Then reinstalled FM.  Weird, but it worked.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI causes an error when starting it - Adobe Acrobat has stopped working. How to solve this?

I had Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for a while, but yesterday, he stopped working and I started getting an error "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working". He then told me to close the program.

    How to solve this?

    Thanks and greetings

Thanks Pat. I was able to solve the problem.

Operating system is Windows 7 Pro, Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.07.

I went into the properties file where I've identified that users only have read & execute and read properties, I changed the properties for everyone to full control. Which corrects the problem.

I don't know how the properties changed to just Read & Execute, but there was an automatic update the previous night.

  • Acrobat Pro XI interrupted installation

When I try to install Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, he goes almost the entire process, but does not end. The first time I tried to install it, it stopped with 17 seconds to go and then everything just stopped of... nothing happened for an hour or two... I had to use the Task Manager to end the process. I tried several times since then and always come up with a few seconds of is, but now, instead of stopping, Setup restores everthing and then displays the following message...

    Setup interrupted
    ---------------------
The wizard has been intertrupted before Adobe Acrobat Pro XI could be completely installed. Your system has not changed. To complete installation at another time, please run the installation again.

What should I do to get this to install? Just to let you know, I had this installed on this computer but disabled installation because the people I bought the computer of needed me to reinstall Windows 8 Pro from scratch (I had problems RAID and her deleted and then recreated the RAID which required a brand new installation of Windows 8).

    Rick,

Based on the provided Setup log file, the problem is that a special action that performs the registration of the serial number and other related things is a failure.

I can't help you except carrying this theme to the correct people's attention at Adobe.

You will probably be asked to provide that little bit more log or related files the license.

I would like to know if this is something you want.

    Hi Pascal,.

It is an indication that the document is damaged. Try to use the PDF Optimizer (choose file > save as other > PDF optimized). Under the cleaning section, deselect optimize the PDF for quick display of Web pages. That, save a copy and try to turn the page.
