Add a location?

I add old family photos to Photos. I know generally where these pictures were taken, but do not know the exact location. Hami to enter a generic place - "Indiana" or "Randolph County, Indiana" - Photos does not accept the location and I end up with a precise location in the County - my guess is the capital.

Is there a way to force the Photos to accept my generic desired location?

Is there a way to force the Photos to accept my generic desired location?

You cannot set your own names of places like in iPhoto or Aperture. When you enter a place name, Photos will try to find it in the database and use the closest match. Pictures needs a place to show photos on a map.

Instead of a generic location, use somewhere that you'll recognize by default - the capital of the country or similar.

  • How can I later change or add a location to my Photos?

    Hello

now I use iOS 10 for a few months (also as a beta-tester), but I tried... I can not change or add a place/location.

Oh my 10 iOS... your new App Photo is really complicated.

Also I would like to change or to change or do something with the faces that you acknowledged you will recognize the faces of foreigners (that is not a big problem), but you put the faces of strangers in the files of my friends and I can't do anything against it.

The face recognition is not editable or better to say I have not found anything yet.

So my big question: How can I set/add/edit the settings for the parameter of premises/location and face?

I would like to use Photos in its full extent

    Thank you

    regarts kind,

    Daniel

PS: I need to apologize for my English, I'm not a native speaker.

10 IOS is only released for a few weeks and is only for mobile devices - do you mean OS X for Mac may be? If so we can't answer until you give us the exact version - the currnet software is OS X Sierra 10.12.  If you are up-to-date, then you select a picture in Photos and get info (right click then get info) and enter the location in the location field - what is described in help Photos too

  • Add keywords/location/description to a file without Photos app?

Idea is I add all this information in a file, so that later it will be easy for me to find the exact file I want. Problem, is if I am doing this in pictures, I can't browse the files using the finder (that I intend to do), or, if I export images updated the they gain weight that is not related to what the new info. The file size isn't really a problem, there is the ' is not exactly the same that I imported before "makes me mad.

So, I'm looking for ways to add any additional information that may add Photos, without actually using this application. If there is no third party option don't mind using terminal or any other manual method to change the info.

If you want to manage your photos in the Finder, you can add Tags to categorize: macOS Sierra: use tags to organize files

However, who would not "embed" tags in the file. The only way to do this would be to modify the EXIF data, but I'm not sure that there is the "Keyword" field in the EXIF data. It would be too simple search EXIF data.

or, if I export images updated the they gain weight that is not related to what the new info. The file size isn't really a problem, there is the ' is not exactly the same that I imported before "makes me mad.

Photos (iPhoto and) do not change the original files. They create a copy and allow you to modify this copy so that Moose remains intact. If you wish, you can 'Export the Unmodified Original'.

The editing pane's will return to Original button.

If you want to delete the original image, after changes, you would have to duplicate an image, then delete the 'original '.

  • script to add the location of the log file

    Hello

I am having trouble with a script that I wrote a year or two ago for the 5.1 vSphere hosts. Now I'm looking to run on vSphere 5.5 hosts, and I make mistakes.

    # Connection to the ESX host to be configured.
    $a = Read-Host "Please enter ESX FQDN:
    Connect-VIServer-Server "$a" - Credential(Get-Credential) se

    # Set the directory SYSLOG #.
    $hostName = get-VMHost
    $hostName = $hostName.Name.Split(".") [0]
    $logLocation = "[AVH-ESXLogs]" + $hostName
    Game-AdvancedSetting Syslog.global.logDir - value $logLocation

    Disconnect-VIServer $a - confirm: $false

When I run the script, I get the following error:

Cannot bind the parameter "AdvancedSetting". Impossible to convert the value of 'Syslog.global.logDir' to type 'System.String' type 'VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Types.V1.AdvancedSetting '.

    To: C9: tank: 19

    + Set AdvancedSetting < < < < Syslog.global.logDir - value $logLocation

I'm guessing it's something stupid, I was messing around with this script for a few hours and it's starting to all look the same.

    Thanks for the help.

    Eric

You will need to do a Get-AdvancedSetting front, something like that

    Get-AdvancedSetting - $vmhost - name Syslog.global.logDir entity. Game-AdvancedSetting - value $logLocation

You get the current setting and then redirect to the next cmdlet, which makes the change.

See also the examples on the Set-AdvancedSetting cmdlet.

  • Cannot add location for photo

I can manually add locations to all my photos except one. The location field is absent.

I tried to duplicate it but still no location field.

The only difference I see is that the photo is a jpeg image and not a jpg file.

How can I change the photo so that I can add the location?

  • How to add location α all photos in an album?

How can I add a location α pictures in one album?  I can add one at a time, but not all at once.  With 14 000 + photos scanned from slides, it is very difficult to organize these photos.  I can't sort the master file by file name, to find as "slides" are almost impossible.

It would be useful that I can change the date and the location of all the photos in a single album.

    Thank you!  -Andy

You must update to El Capitan that it update the photos to be able to do.

When you select all the photos you want to give a specific location also.  Open the window "information" (command - 'I') and inside of him, you'll see "Add location" and you can enter in where it was taken.

You can be very specific if you know specific addresses of the place where they are taken.

    Can someone help me

    Thank you

What card theme you are using?  And what version of iPhoto?  Your internet connection is working?

In iPhoto 9.6.1, you can add a location in layout mode.  Zoom in on the map and ctrl - click the location on the map, and then select 'Add Place '.

In mode 'Options', you should be able to press the button "+" and type a name for the place. The location search pictures by name. You can also ctrl - click on the map and add the location manually.

What happens when you try to add a place? You get an error message?

  • Windows 7 - cannot choose or add default backup location (WHERE the backup on)

I help a friend who has a Windows 7 based PC.  We tried to restore from a backup, and that's why, as a precautionary measure has changed rather than a backup on a USB FlashDrive to a single backup before restoring.  The restore was not successful (for other reasons), and now, we're just trying to change the user settings to save the suggested files and folders TO a location on its internal hard drive, not the USB drive more as default.  The only option available when opening settings allows you to use the DVD player.  I can't add a location or moved to other than that.  We worked on it for over an hour this morning and nothing I've tried has worked.  I tried to turn the calendar off thinking it would pass by a new configuration.  I tried deleting the USB and when the error message came had hoped to choose a different location, but he gave me the DVD player.  I tried a "Assistant" help, but there is none.  I searched the Microsoft Community of previous posts, but makes me return to the backup and restore even settings window with no possibility to choose other than the DVD player.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Kay,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

This error occurs generally if one of the services required for windows to work backup is disabled or has not started.

To check the services, click Start, in the Start Search bar type services , and then press enter.

Please check that the following services are enabled:

-"Remote Procedure Call" (RPCSS) must be active, Automatic.

'COM + Event System"(EventSystem) must be active, Manual.

-'System Event Notification Service"(SENSE) must be active, Automatic.

-"Volume Shadow Copy" (VSS) must be active, Manual.

'Microsoft Software Shadow Copy provider' (SWPRV) must be active, Manual.

Once you make changes according to the above specifications, you can try a backup and check to see if that solves the problem.

I also suggest you to run a SFC scan.

  • You can add all the content from your desktop to the eligible locations in flash player?

You can add all the content of the office to the eligible locations in flash player?  When I click on 'Add' eligible locations and type in file:///C:/Documents and Settings under Web site (I know this is not the site but where otherwise it would be added) it does not appear in the global list of the eligible 'sites '.

    Hi radwh,

Are you talking about trying to add your office at approved locations of Flash Player? If so, you use the tab 'Advanced' in the local settings manager to designate the folders and files as being approved. (Full path is advanced-> Developer Tools-> trusted location settings). Here is a link to the documentation for it: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlayer/LSM/WS6aa5ec234ff3f285139dc56112e3786b68c-7ff0.htm l .

Hope this helps and get back to me with more details if this isn't what you were asking.

    Thank you
