  I found a new problem (for me) with the 'current path of vi' work today. When I compile the source code into an executable, I get a strange response from the service.

  I expect to see 'application.exe\application.vi '.  What I see is "application.exe\folder\application.vi. It's ruining my normal routines that address automatically step of removal of additional path that is required when moving between executable files and source code. I understand that I can use the "Application Directory" function and it does not solve this problem. However, as a test, I created a separate program with only the 'path of vi current' function and it worked again normally (application.exe\application.vi). There seems to be something specific to this one application that I don't understand.

  I tried a force all recompile (ctrl-shift-run arrow) and this did not help. I created a new project with the same source, and this did not help. I recorded the source under a different file name file and created a new project for this new source file and it did not help. I was using the function of the path of the current vi twice in top level vi, then I changed to use it only once and it did not help.

  I'm running out of ideas, and it is a project big enough that I really don't want to start over. The extra folder is the path to the file source vi. Any ideas on what would cause additional file information to be inserted in the path returned by the function of the current path of the vi?

  I use LV2012

  Generally, you shouldn't care how exactly screw are stored inside the EXE. If you care, this means that your code relies on it, which is a problem. What follows is general and can be inaccurate, simply because I don't like enough to actually check OK how it is:

  1. The EXE file is basically a folder zipped with the screw and the runtime of LV simply loads and works.
  2. If you use the indicator 8.x, you get a flat structure in the EXE. This is not your case, and I would not recommend it in any case.
  3. If the flag is set to false, LV basically takes all the screws that must go into the exe (static libraries dependencies and included screws) and places them in the EXE file using the same exact folder structure as code. This allows to undress and to build paths and having the code works the same way.
  4. Code that is located in the LV folder (such as the vi.lib code) is placed in a top-level called 1abv1ew folder, so it can be found.
  5. If you need to get the path of the folder, use the app dir VI.
  6. If you need to get a path to VI, use a static reference to the VI and a property node to get its path property. It works in dev and EXE.
  7. Virtual folders are not relevant (that they are not paths). AutoFill files are linked on the disk, so they do not reflect the path, but it's not really relevant. Jeff was simply pointing out that this may reflect the path and that he does not like them.
  8. Most likely your problem (since you say that something is changing) is that you are sometimes a VI that is not in the same top-level VI folder hierarchy, which then changes the top-level folder in the EXE (I'm guessing a VI of another project?). It's pretty easy to check by going to the project files tab and see if you have screws to another folder.

  I hope this helps explain, but as I said, you should generally not care on this issue. The only good reason I can think to need to know is if the paths inside the EXE exceed the limit on the length of path of the operating system, and then you start dealing with that. Except that just use the golden rule that screws inside the EXE will have the same structure as they did before, and to put you outside the EXE should use the app dir VI.

  I have this card and I want to have a zoom in the part that displays the residential street names, but of course I don't want the names of streets on the large version of the map.   The reasoning to want a single file is because the streets and points of interest are evolving, it would be frustrating to manually change the street name of each file, as time passes and things could eventually be forgotten. Have a main file would eliminate errors or inconsistencies between two files.

  Adobe change Acrobat a lot between releases. Make sure you follow instructions to the same version you have.

  If this looks OK, let us know the exact version you have (help > about Acrobat Pro).

• Is it possible to copy all the layers in the layers panel and paste them in a new document?

  The content of each layer will be different on each document so I don't want to copy. I have 12 documents to be used in a calendar and I want all the layers as well as their names and colors to be the same in each document. I already have all the pages designed and built, but personal information is to be added, and I want each of them to match all the others.

  Basically, all I want to do is to copy the contents of the layers panel and past in each of the other documents.

  I just create a page at the end of the document w / layers and on this page, add an item by layer. Also, if you have 15 layers, drag the small fifteen frames on the page and the layer icon to assign each image to another layer.

  Then in the Pages panel menu, choose move Pages. Choose this 'page of layers' to move to your receiving document (another of your calendar documents), Destination: end of the Document.

  The receiving document will get all the layers. Remove all items (15 views) on the extra page and the layers remain.

  Next time you make a schedule, you should check the add-on for InDesign Calendar Wizard. You will cry all the time you wasted it making manually ;-(

• Script to add the layer mask to all layers but the background?

  I have been a professional editor/Retoucher for photographers for the past three years. I use a lot of stock, but I've never branched in scripts so far. I am trying to refine my workflow and scripts to not appear to be the next logical step.

  I do a lot of work in the interiors, which is essentially manual HDR. Here's my current generation process, which I would love to find a way to script. I tried to be very clear, but let me know if it needs to expand. I use Photoshop CS5.

  1. pull brackets, color corrected TIFF in Bridge.

  2 re-order as needed, with the main exhibition downstairs. Click on 'Tools' > 'Photoshop' > 'Charge in the form of layers Photoshop"to get a PSD with layers in the correct order and main as exposure layer from bottom (base).

  3. manually go through each layer and add a layer mask hide all each layer except the background layer.

  4. Save as a PSD, using the original name of the background layer as the file name. To do this, I just copy the name of the layer (example.tiff), paste in the Save dialog box and then use the drop-down menu to select PSD (save as example.psd).

  I hope to automate steps 3 and 4 as they are the majority of your time for me. Any contribution is appreciated!

  Yes, your change is good.  This way the last layer will not have a mask applied.  I wasn't sure if you wanted that, but in the control for the background layer.

  Regarding the economy, what file format would you save on?  Here's how to save a psd:

  I had the same problem and it has chewed all my disk space. I have a 64-bit Windows 10 - disk 250 gig. I deleted all these files except those with current date and released the 150 gig. Much better to delete these temporary files to risking a crash operating system running out of disk space.

  I've been a print designer and web since 1992 and have used software and Apple hardware exclusively. Apple has always provided a superior product, however, in the latest versions of OS X, your OS doesn't remember the last used folder.

  In each application, I have to start from scratch and use a shortcut menu drop-down or menu of take me to the last used folder. Imagine how unnecessary click it brings me back to navigate to the last used folder, when I use my Mac for print and web design daily? In the last year alone, representing thousands of wasted clicks.

  I'M FED UP WITH BEGIN IDLE WHENEVER I NEED TO OPEN OR TO SAVE A FILE. I AM SICK OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CHOOSE THE LAST FOLDER 'USED' AS A DEFECT IN MY WORKFLOW.

  Please, I beg you. I'm BEGGING YOU can provide updates to OS X 10.10 (and later versions) and add the "LAST FOLDER USED" FEATURE to your operating system.

  And please, don't provide me with 'useful' shortcuts, workarounds, software plugins or after-market to solve this lack of your operating system. I tried them all and none of them work as "Last folder used" in my workflow.

• Adding icon in the background transparent when Michael

  Hi, I am observing interesting phenomenon (?)

  I've added an icon to my request that I developed using the guide provided by the kb article:

  The icon has been added successfully on the Simulator and everything is normal but I notice that the background becomes now when I disable the soft (drag up to zoom out of the window of the application).

  It's weird because in the zoomed view on, all components are present (such as areas of labels, buttons, etc.), but the background (which is black) becomes transparent. When I again focus the application, the background color become serious.

  (Although I recognize that this method of adding icon is suspicious because he tells me to create another .xml file when there is a present already - one that was created when I first implemented the project - it's perhaps is the source of error...?)

  I'm afraid that RIM will reject the app for this reason, so I'm holding presentation until this issue is resolved.

  Anyone have any idea what can cause this? !!
