  [INITIAL QUESTION: is it possible to add a cover sheet to an InDesign document without affecting the numbering of existing page?] I have a series of chapters in a book that should be displayed individually and require a cover sheet. Each chapter to start on a recto page, and the page numbering is set with a prefix (the chapter number) and a page number, for example, page 1.1. I can manage to add the map coverage without other brewing pages, but the cover page becomes always page 1.1 and the text begins on page 1.2 (even if it's a front page). Is it possible to do without having to manually reset the numbering of the pages in the Section and Numbering Options window?

  Thanks for the reply. I found a different way to keep the pages of shift, but adding that the two pages and then deleting one of them is simpler, thank you!  The numbering of the pages still changes, then perhaps there is no other way than to manually change the numbering and section options afterwards (or writing a script, which is well above my head!). The rats, because I have about 160 of these documents to do. Ah, well!

  You must break your content between files and use the book feature to apply numbering to make look it seamless. Sometimes, if you can, re - organize the content so that all oversize pages come at the end of a chapter/file makes it easier to manage a such split files in the book.

  Check it out. Guru user lands on Page 1, other land users to Page 2.

  Here's how it was done.

  a. the CustomAuthentication function returns a Boolean, but does not store the username anywhere. So I changed it.
  b. has created a named FUSER element of the Application (you can change the name and code as you wish).
  c. change the CustomAuthentication function to include the following line just before the return statement

  APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('FUSER',upper(p_username));
  

  So now the user name is stored and used in the session state.
  d. added the branch on Page 1, Onload before header that has Page 2 as its target.
  e. does the conditional branch using the lettering element FUSER. The condition is FUSER <> 'GURU', so that other users are directed to the Page 2.

The problem is that I have to put that audio file on each page (this is a transcript of the audio), because it cannot access the audio buttons on the same page. I tried to put the audio file on a master page, but the buttons could not find when you create an action; the audio should be placed directly on the page. Any ideas?   I'm spending PageMaker in InDesign CS4. I have a problem of numbering of the pages in my document of 50 pages. I have facing pages and was able to draw a text box on the left side of my Master Page (A) to insert numbers. I now have numbers, that is, 2, 4, 6, etc., printing on the left side of my document pages. (Not sure why paging was applied only to the left.) I was not able to draw a text box on the right side of the Master Page (A) while I can number the odd document pages, if this is the way to go. The right text box does not consume. I googled the problem and tried several different methods, but can not get to the right page numbers. Any help would be appreciated. Uh oh, I fear the saying "you can't teach an old dog monkey" may be applicable.

  Zoom out until you see Master left and right Page (easier is to hit Alt + Ctrl + 0: 'Fit spread in window' in the view menu).

  Copy the box with the page number, you already have and paste it immediately - it should appear somewhere in the neighborhood of the center of your screen.

  Select it with the black arrow (not the white or the text tool) and slide it into place on the right page.

  I have a standard set of tab called 'TS1', which has 2 tabs (say tab1 and tab2). Because the tabs are under "shared component", it seems that they are broadcast in all of 10 pages that I have.
  
  How can I make the tabs appear selectively on different pages? For example, I want tab1 and tab2 showing upwards to page1-9, but NOT on page10. There is a 'conditions' (Type of Condition), but it has many types and I do not know how to use it.

  Delete the storage\persistent\moz-safe-about + House in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder (Firefox '3-bar' menu button > exit/Quit) remove code snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox to use a default extract value.

  You can reset the pref browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl through the context menu on the default to reactivate the code snippets and make Firefox recreate the moz-trunk-fort-about + folder.
