adjustment brush works a little

Hi, I Lr CC, 10 Windows, when I use the adjustment brush I need to go all the way upwards or downwards (e.g. an exhibition) to see the much adjust, hide Auto, density 100. Can Sbdy indicate what the problem is? Thanks in advance!

Hi studioryba,

Make sure that the flow slider is set to the maximum value.

If this does not help, suggest you to reset the preferences of Lightroom: given to zero (or "Trashing") the Lightroom preference file. Lightroom Forums

Also, make sure that the program is updated: keeping up-to-date for Lightroom

  • LR5 adjustment brush works not properly (density & flow are set to 100)

I just upgraded to LR5 CC & the adjustment brush is not working properly. No matter what I put on it darkens only where I paint. As you can see in the attached screenshots, I have the adjustment brush sent exposure + 4, Flow 100, density 100, and those areas where I painted (once with toothbrush and once with the brush B) is clouded, rather than reduced. Use any cursor (temp, tinted, clarity, no matter), this is the result - area I paint is obscured. I tried to quit & restart LR and it does not solve it. I use LR5.7.1 on an iMac with OS X 10.9.5. Thank you in advance for your help!

It's the overlay that shows where you have painted. Press the letter O to activate and deactivate

  • Overlay adjustment brush works not

Probably miss me something so fundamental that it'll be awkward... but...

I recently reinstalled LR 5 to see if that would do anything about the performance of the unbearable. It seemed to work normally for a while, but now when I use the adjustment brush and press O to see the adjustment brush so I can see what was painted red (and therefore subject to changes of setting), it does not display the overlay. It seems to make the changes, but without seeing the areas that I'm trying to 'paint', I can't be sure.

I do not have the overlay has red color, and I tried to hit H to turn on with out masking. It's maddening. It's something simple I did break LR?

(Using the most recent version on a Mac).

The area at the Middle/top of the child's background hand is painted in the attached screenshot. And as you can see, the superposition of the display is selected. But nothing appears. I don't have to reset all the instruments and presets to default settings. (Or at least I tried definitely).

    Thanks for your help!

You have your FLOW set to 50 and DENSITY fixed about 10 so your overlay will be barely visible.  With the color of RED coating, it will be a light pink with these settings, which is about the color on the hands.

  • LR3 adjustment brush works not

    Help, please!

My adjustment brush does not work. I can select, move, etc., but it makes no changes. for example I want to whiten teeth, I tried to adjust exposure, brightness, contrast even make green nothing works. But I can move the brush, it looks as if I had brought any changes when I click on the done button and reselect my adjustment brush but no changes were made. Help, please!

    Thank you!

  • 'Reset the brushes' and 'Clear' adjustment brush works not

    Hello

I used the filter graduated and then attempted to use the adjustment brush to clear areas. I am able to select the brush 'A' or 'B', but not 'clear '. When you click clear becomes brighter as if chosen, it does not hold once I move the mouse. Also, the adjustment brush does not show the button "reset brushes. Superb guidance, I used Lynda, where the adjustment brush dialog box is identical to the exception including the button 'Reset the brushes'. I noticed that on the next instruction on Lynda video, "corrections with the adjustment brush paint ', brushes 'reset' button is missing." What makes present or not? Will be reseting the brushes make using 'clear '? Why does is not 'Erase'?

    Thank you

    Just found the cause here...

The steps that followed you to date:

    1. apply the graduated on the image filter.

    2. Select the adjustment brush and choose clear

This deletion cannot be selected because there is no pin code of the brush to clear.

For adjustments to delete, it should have a pin code.

    The correct workflow would be:

    1. apply the filter graduated on the image (do not click on actually)

2 Select the brush in the graduated filter (this option is available under mask: next to edit)

    3. choose clear of there

    Hi snowynorman,

Could you please share a screenshot of your adjustment brush in Lightroom?

Usually, two circles appear when you have a good pen of value.

In addition, suggest you try to change the size of the brush manually via the cursor or up and down arrow keys on your keyboard to check if you still see this type of behavior.

    Kind regards

  • Adjustment brush works not

I can press the hotkey (K) and get the adjustment brush, but the cursor still a helping hand. I'm developing and you have zoomed in on an area of a cropped image, where I want to reduce exposure. I moved the slider next to exposure to a negative value and have adjusted to the size and the plumage of the brush with the sliders, but again, the brush does not appear at the location of the cursor, only the hand symbol.

SHIFT key is off, I don't know where to look next.

This is a bug that has been noticed before.

  • Lightroom adjustment brush works not

I think that I have to reinstall LR.  The targeted adjustment tool does not work and sometimes it can't play the files from memory cards (from different cameras).  I think this has been answered before, but I can't find an answer.  Specifically, I need to know how to remove all the old LR to my computer bits before you download without doing damage.

Please display the toolbar if it's missing by going to the view menu > display the toolbar.
At the toolbar value show Edit Pins: always.

Please let us know if it helps.

  • 4.1RC2: adjustment brush stopped working Mid Session

It's pretty weird. Brand new .lrcat, through some family photos. The first few photos, the adjustment brush worked. A few minutes into it, it stopped working, or at least ceased to be almost as important an effect. If I push the exposure of + 4, it seems that it is pushing it par.4. Even with the other sliders - they are hardly applied.

A I hit some button that lowers overall force brush or something?

Note that, in the second image, the adjustment brush is centered on his head. It is a little different than the first image, but certainly not to the extent where one would expect to their extreme cursors.

Just for a point of anecdotes, I installed QuickTime when you work in LR. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but rebooting LR and the creation of a new catalog has not remedied the problem.

    Very strange.

  • LR4 adjustment brushes... Possible bug?

If I proceed to edit a picture of Nikon NEF in LR4 using the adjustment brush (any one (s))... and then move on to further modify the image in Photoshop CS5... areas in which I applied brush strokes not wrapped in PS correctly. In fact, anywhere where there is a Brush Stroke... it seems that I went crazy with the Dodge tool.

I don't remember what is at issue in LR3.

When edit you in Photoshop, you should get the warning of compatibility for camera raw.  Don't you select "Make in Lightroom" or "open anyway?

If you check the option "don't show" on this warning, you can lock and then to use the incompatible version of camera raw.

PS - I've tried everything, and I think this might be your problem.  If you edit in CS5 and choose 'Open anyway' so adjustment brush work is lost, if you chose "Render in Lightroom" then adjustments through CS5.

If you have previously selected "Open in" checked "don't show" then try Edit menu, preferences, general tab and click "reset all warning dialog boxes.

  • Adjustment brush stop working

Help! My adjustment brush stop working. Now if I change the stop to stop 03:56 show I can barely make a difference in effect on the area of the image covered by the brushed area. Previously, if I had to I would see some very radical changes in the exhibition. That's happened?

Oh, you're going to love this one! I think, for the next 24 hours, I'll have the emblem of 'Stupid' plastered on my forehead. I read both your suggestions. Check preferences, reset some settings I think me could return to normal. Then I start playing with all the settings in the drop-down window of adjustment brush. from top to bottom. When I got inside, I ran my pointer on the black squares left in front of Reset & Close. Hummm what what he says 'disable brush adjustments' I click on it, click again. With a different image, I try an adjustment brush + 4, nothing, I click on small places again, it works. Scheeezzzzzz. Send me the brand of my forehead.

Normally, I do not change this little place setting y at - it a keyboard shortcut that that will turn on and outside? I was doing a job of long text on certain images in the way back from LR to CS5 CS5 and on an opportunity I thought that I had back in CS5 and did not, start typing the word and everything became black in LR except an image that has been highlighted. I well I got everything back to normal by closing and by reopening but not so much.

Thank you both for your help in this matter.

I start another question regarding an error message I get. After the upgrade to CS5 when I double click on an image anywhere it normall invite CS4 to open and open the image in CS4.

  • Lightroom adjustment brush suddenly does not work as it did before

I work on some photos and use the adjustment brush effects (softening, teeth Whitener, etc.). When using these effects, I left the preset values and they worked very well on the images I just changed. However all of a sudden I noticed that any effect of brush has been improved a LOT more when I started to edit another picture in the game. For example, the teeth whitening is suddenly VERY white and the edges are so obvious, but the values have not changed. I rechecked all my teeth before bleaching and the values are the same. I quit Lightroom and restarted but the problem persists. If anyone has experienced this? Any solution? Thank you

Thank you Benedict. But I think that my problem was that I had accidentally changed the pen of the brush to zero using one of the shortcut keys. Now that I put back it to 100 it seems to work again. See when I was clicking on a previous setting (eg. a teeth whitening)-it shows me exposure, clarity values, etc., but it doesn't tell me the details of the brush that I was using (pen, flow, density) - brush values remain the same, if you click a setting previous or not - and that's why I thought that the previous setting has been done using the current settings and so why I wasn't with the same settings I was confused get different results.

Thank you very much for your help in any case, I appreciate it
