Adjustment layer using only colors?

I encountered a problem with the help of an adjustment layer. I created a curves adjustment layer and set it so that I can get a job shadow in however once I started drawing it only carried out certain colors (even if they are in the same layer) I tried everything I can think and can't get anything to change my top layer. Does anyone know why it would be as selective on what colors it is perform?

For reference, I use PS CS6 running windows 7

Highlight the layer of body and then apply adjustments, repeat the same procedure on the layer that was used to make the helmet.

  • Can you make an adjustment layer affect only specific layers?

I would like to use adjustment layers to assign some layers in my project, but not to have them change each layer under.  Is there a way to make a layer of ajudstment only affect a specific layer (or layers)?

    Thank you.

To make an adjustment layer affect only the layer directly beneath it, press and hold the

ALT, then move the cursor between the adjustment layer and the underlying layer. When the pointer changes to two overlapping circles, click.
This will use transparency of the underlying layer as a mask for the effect. In other words, it will apply only the adjustment to the underlying layer.

-Hold down option and click between the two layers (your cursor will change shape)

-Have the active adjustment layer and create a clipping mask (command-option-g)

-Put the two layers in a group and change the blending mode to normal group

The first two are in the same way for a clipping mask. More about them here:

  • Apply an adjustment layer to only certain images in a video?

I have an imported video, make a selection and applied a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer on the selection and it has been applied to the entire clip. How could I do the same thing, although that doesn't apply to the adjustment layer to a specified segment of the clip?

    Thank you.

Looks like you have to duplicate the video layer and the layer of setting her clip, and then reduce the opacity of the adjustment layer. Can't seem to adjust the opacity on just the layer of setting with keyframes.

  • The eyedropper tool does not work with a hue saturation adjustment layer

I use PS CC 2014, and the problem I have is that when I have to use the eyedropper tool to adjust the range of colors affected by an adjustment layer Hue/Saturation, rather than selecting the color in the Properties window for the adjustment layer, use the eyedropper closed the window properties and change the foreground color in my palette.

Here's the real hitch... the same thing happened to me at the school last night where a) the Mac is older and CS6 b) is always used.

It's something with my user settings, to be sure, because the teacher logged into his account on the Mac I was using in the class test, and it worked for him. We have logged on my account and it still does work for mine.

    Any ideas?

  • How to paint on an adjustment layer

I want to get a little more visibility to an adjustment layer, but I can't 'paint' on it. I created a new adjustment layer using levels. I've adjusted to the exhibition. Then I clicked on D, so I could get a white foreground and black background. THN on my Mac I clicked on control + delete to make the black layer mask. Then, I selected a brush and tried to paint white over the area in the layer mask to levels I want to be lighter. But I'm not sure that the Brush tool works even though I have selected a brush size on the brush palette. And when I went to paint, I couldn't. I had an icon of a circle with a line through it. My levels layer is on top. What is going on. How can I paint on an image?

You click the mask icon in the layers panel to make it the active part of the layer?

  • Color change of layer using the dropper

    Hello

Almost never used PSE before so bear with me!

I have a picture of a car I want to change the color, on what I would do is to use the color of a car of a different image.

    I found this guide: http://photography.tutsplus.com/tutorials/manipulating-the-color-of-an-automobile-in-photo shop - photo-965

I followed to create a separate layer that gives me the area of the car that I want to change the color, but I am struggling to actually get the color to change.

In step 3, it says 'on the layers palette, click on the color chart. " This will bring up the color palette, but also offers a color picker eyedropper." "

I can't find how upward in PSE, I appreciate it can be different in photoshop full package vs PSE but I can't find how to bring it to the top.

I found the option: improve-> adjust colors-> color replace but I could not do work (i.e. to change a color) and it let you use the pipette to pick a new color.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    ulcolds,

This is a tutorial that I could follow to post-secondary studies. I see where the problem to step #3.

Double click on the thumbnail of the layer of the color fill adjustment layer to bring up the color picker. When you do this, you will see a pipette in the work area. So, if you have photos of cars that a & B open cascade, you can click on B to change the color to a.

Take a look at my screen printing. The car is red, but once I taste the Green bushes behind the car, the car turns green. The reason for which the entire image is not turning green, it's in the previous stages, the mask was created in order to prevent this.

  • How can I convert a picture using only 2 colors?

Hello, I would like to change an image with many colors in an image using only 2 colors (for example color picker). I almost found what I was looking for with the model of halftone filter, but I don't want the patern in the final result. Thanks for your help

  • Photoshop Elements 9 - cannot use the brush in the adjustment layer

    Hello

I am new to Adobe Photoshop Elements and have recently purchased Elements 9. I have problems with the brush in the levels of adjustment.

I opened a RAW image and converted to black and white to desaturate using an adjustment layer. I then try to adjust the black and white image using several levels of adjustment. I use the brush to hide parts of the image in the particular adjustment layer I don't want to change. It worked at first, but for some reason, the brush stopped working in adjustment layers. It's a soft brush the 300px value, mode is 'Normal' and the opacity is 100%. In other words, is not obliterate anything in the layer, or whatever it is appears in the thumbnail of the rightmost (these two things happened before)

The brush works normally when you adjust an image with no level i.e. When you simply open a RAW or TIFF file and use the brush.

I tried to uninstall the program and reinstall it, but the problem persists.

Can anyone offer any help? It's frustrating because I can't adjust my image selectively. I do something wrong, it is a bug, or is it just a simple matter of checking a simple box somewhere in the pre-series?

    Hoping someone can help.

Make sure you have your brush set to black (foreground in black color)

and that makes your painting on the layer mask (click on the layer mask

    to make it active).

Try just paint on the mask of your adjustment layer to desaturate the photo

with a black brush (color to come back)

Sometimes with several adjustment layers, strokes on a layer mask can overlap

    the strokes on the other.

If you want more control over a black and white conversion, you can try something like

    What follows.

    1. Add a hue\saturation adjustment layer and change the layer blending mode to color

    2. Add another layer of setting hue\saturation and move the saturation to-100

    3. on the first adjustment layer (the one with the color blending mode), move the hue

and saturation for different effects, black and white cursors.

    4. If you want to add a color tint, set the hue\saturation albums layer colouring and

Adjust the sliders hue and saturation for effects of different hue.

  • Photosmart 7520: Preference avancΘs, change the default settings, print using ONLY black ink (not color ink)

Where can I find this that all information in the preferences > advanced, what they mean, how and why.

How to permanentely to change the default printer settings.

How to use out of the black cartridge for everything I print (I do not want to use ANY) color ink.

    Hi TJBar,

This link should give you the information you need to explain the menu print, print menus. In order to print in black only, you can select "print in black and white." Note, however, that color will be used during maintenance of your printer. This is necessary to prevent the healthy color ink for when you do not need to use it.

Please let me know if it helps.

  • If I only print in black why my HP Photosmart C6180 uses up color cartirges? Are expensive!

If I only print in black why my HP Photosmart C6180 uses up color cartirges? Are expensive!

    Hello

All printers do the same thing that even many printers have an option to print in black INK ONLY. The reason: during the process of global warming, printers need to use all inks to check and maintain their print heads... Some people say, we turn on the printer / OFF it will use more ink, I can't confirm that but understandable.

    Kind regards.
