    Hello

Try this - use the hidden administrator account to lower your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK
then go back and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times.
Then fix the password in your usual account. Do not forget to leave your account administrator if you
    wish.

Make another Admin account with your password and use it to fix the others if necessary. (just for
repair, don't use regular account, not a safety valve) always keep a spare ADMIN account.

  • Windows Vista, administrator password, does not

I had the windows administrator password since I bought my laptop about a week, there is the password no longer works, (no one has changed the password). Finger printer reader, my impression, finger reads me the green check mark, and then displays the incorrect user name or password. Dell has no help nor Microsoft, called the two, both passes the question to the other. I have many family photos and some documents I want to turn off my computer, I can't get them because of the password, I bought a case that Dell said to do, it does not fit my hard drive. Can someone tell me how to bypass my password so that I can get at my photos or what I can do to at least get my photos in the admin account that is displayed in my full name. I tried to type in the command prompt, and nothing works, please any help, I would be so grateful... Dell and Microsoft told me, there's a way to get around, but they cannot help doing it on my own computer.

    Hello

Donna I don't know how the fingerprint reader interacts with the opening of session if it is an assumption. This method
works on systems without the reader of fingerprints and perhaps on your system when used in conjunction with
your fingerprint reader. Hope it's useful.

If this is not enough you are no worse off as you are now.

  • Profile 'Admin' user lost, no password, how to recover?

Hello. For the first time in 3 years, I found myself cursing my PC Windows Vista Home Premium.
It is not let me on the admin account, even to set the clock!

Every now and then, an update of Windows appears in the trash BIOS, and on the PC startup settings, BIOS rely you and complains that the checksum is invalid. Until today there has never been a problem; I just have to reset the date and time and all is well.

Today, I got the bleating BIOS, started in Windows and connected with my normal user account.
When I tried to change the settings of the clock, Windows asked my admin password, but then told me that I didn't have permission to change the clock.

I disconnected my user account and tried to log in as an administrator. He refused, saying that the user profile service failed to load the profile. There is absolutely no way I'm getting the wrong password, so my guess is that something trashed profile admin for me.

I was able to run rstrui.exe and restored to the oldest restore point that I could find (April 14, about 3 weeks ago). When it prompted me for my admin password, there is no problem. However after restoring I still cannot connect as an administrator; It gives the same error to be unable to load the profile.

Then, what on earth can I do to recover the admin profile?

Out of curiosity I tried to use the file browser to go to c:\users\admin, but he asked my admin password then impossible to open the file (it gives no error either).

    Any help would be welcome!

    Thank you.
    Stephen.

  • Tips for Vista users

    Hi all

as I see it, these updates so much expected of Moduslink begin finally to flow, so I thought that it is perhaps a good idea to share experiences, I gathered in recent months.

First of all, I did a LOT of research before Vista was released and decided to do the upgrade for the following reason:

-Format and clean install not possible: MS changes its licensing policy so that upgrades can be installed since breast the previous installed Windows, which means that all OS reinstalls require XP installation first. Earlier Versions of Windows allowed by using the 'Previous Windows' CD as Validation for the upgrade.

For this reason (and also not really want to wait until April for Vista), I decided to buy a "System Builder" edition I intend to buy the Home Premium, as this edition would be enough in fact for me, but that the Ultimate of SB edition was only 70 Euros more, I decided to go to Ultimate. Here are the benefits that apply to my case:

-Ultimate is capable "Multilanguage": my Windows is the German Version and I love being able to "Switch language" when I want to.
-Full backup PC with Image: I'm not hink I need to talk about the importance THAT is ;-)
-The 'Ultimate Extras' are indeed pretty cool (no obligation, but 'Nice to have')

I thought that these reasons for 70 Euros ;-) indeed

Before installing my Vista, I gathered all the drivers and programs that I needed. I researched if the installed Applications that were pre-installed with XP on my laptop would go with Vista. My laptop (Purchsed 23.12.2006) came up with the following applications preinstalled:

    -MS Office OneNote 2003
    -Intervideo WinDVD 5
    -Sonic Record now

WinDVD and Sonic are on the drivers CD that I created under XP. OneNote is located on my C: drive (I think C:\Windows\Downloaded programs, but I do not remember).

    Comaptability:

-Sonic: Doesn't work well with Vista. Since I already have Nero 7, it didn't matter to me. Nero works fine with Vista.
-WinDVD 5: doesn't work well with Aero. I decided to purchas WinDVD 8 gold for 29 Euros and will not regret!
-MS OneNote 2003: works well with Vista with 1 annoying side effect; If you are running Vista with a Standard (Non-Admin) user account, you WILL be asked to accept the license agreement EVERY time that you start OneNote. This is because MS records the acceptance of the EULA in the registry (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office), where a Standard user cannot write to. To save the trouble of this just do the following:

Open Regedit as an administrator and navigate to the key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office and right click on "Desktop", go to "Berechtigungen" and give users full access to the key. After that, all standard users only be asked once to accept the EULA.

A Note for the drivers of Toshiba:

The drivers for the Grapich of Nvidia chip, as well as the WLAN Intel 3945ABG chip are exceeded. You can get the most recent driver for WLAN directly from Intel. Because the laptop manufacturers rarely updated their video drivers (which is very BAD for players), I strongly suggest that you visit www.laptopvideo2go.com. These guys make the effort to get the current Nvidia drivers and modify the INF file to be formatted for mobile devices. It's a 'Must Have' for your IE Favorites!

    Reading DVD with Media Player:

If you suffer from poor quality of playing DVDs (jerky video), then take a look at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932649/en-us

I hope that sharing my experiences with Vista so far is able to help some of you to adapt to Vista. Vista is really a great operating system it can work fine on Toshiba laptops!

Good luck in your endeavours of Vista!

    Scooby1966

    Hi Steven

  • Password admin or power on password required

I have a HP G71-340us with win 7 which ask to an admin or power on password. To my knowledge a power on password has never been set in the bios.

I saw some post where this has been resolved with a code that was released, but none that I've tried has worked to override the required entry.  After several attempts, he says 'off system' 98100831 '.

Does anyone have a suggestion on this password might work?

    Hi Vicki,

You should create the flash drive to reset when setting the password for the option originally, you are prompted to enter the work.

If you normally sign - on with an email and password, you can reset the password via another PC from the Microsoft page on the following link.

    https://account.live.com/password/reset

Moreover, if it is a Local account, try the free app here.

A last solution would be to reinstall the operating system using the recovery Partition or on your recovery media - these options are described in the HP document on the following link.
