Adobe Flash Player update. Why I don't see tube you videos with Firefox?

I had this problem for a week now. I can hear the videos but not see images. I went into plugins and update of Adobe Flash Player, but it did not help. Restarted, etc. To return to the form on the page that it is said still Adobe reader must be updated on my windows xp, Adobe said it is up to date. Perhaps this is related to why I can't watch the videos?

From Firefox 40, YouTube uses many Windows XP users another drive, the HTML5 player. In order to confirm what player is used on the page, you can right click on the video and check the last line of the quick menu (context menu) that appears. (If the menu of Firefox crashes, press and release the Alt key to display the menu of the player.)

Assuming you get the menu black having HTML5 in the last line, that's your problem. So... what to do about it. Here are two possible solutions:

(1) use an add-on to force YouTube to serve you the Flash Player

There are at least two extensions to do this, you only need:

(2) use an add-on to tell YouTube that you're still under Firefox 39

(A) install the https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ua-site-switch/ extension which certainly has a confusing interface.

(B) select and copy the old identification of user agent for Firefox 39:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0

(C) while on a youtube.com page, click on the small triangle of drop down menu to au-site-switch and paste the old and then user agent string press ENTER to save it

(D) may reload YouTube without going through files cached (Ctrl + Shift + r)

E repeat B & C on https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/ to apply the hack for embedded videos

  • I've always had an Adobe Flash Player update for my frustrating timing Mac users...

I always had an Adobe Flash Player update for my frustrating timing Mac users and have tried to find ways to run the upgrade to multiple users via ARD, but could never find the .pkg file. Today, after a lot of research I found this help file,

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/installation-problems-Flash-Player-Mac.html

To this is a link to the .dmg file that contained the .app file that had the installer .pkg. The link has been labeled the Flash Player for Safari and Firefox - NPAPI

My question is: can I use this link to get the latest Flash Player .pkg installer in the future?

    Hi wkrites,

The PACKAGE inside the APP as a whole is not intended for distribution, you are referring and will not install some required components.

If you distribute Flash Player within your organization, we offer a PKG Installer to be used by tools such as ARD.  If you have not done so, you need a license to distribute Flash Player within your organization.  You will then receive an email with the URL to visit to download the installation file of.  Please see Adobe Flash Player Distribution. Adobe for more information on the Flash Player licenses and candidate.

The Flash Player Administrator's Guide, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html, contains useful information for the Flash Player deployment administrator within their organization.

  • Web address of Adobe Flash Player update

I have been asked to update Flash Player and then landed in a Web page to download the update with an address containing "get3.adobe.com". I checked the web address of the page where you can download Flash Player at first by following the link on the home page of Adobe and found that it contained "get.abobe.com". For security reasons, I wish to confirm that get3.adobe.com is an official Adobe Flash Player update site, rather than a well-disguised fraudulent page to encourage users to download malicious software.

You can see that get3.adobe.com is on the adobe.com domain.

  • Once I downloaded the new version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262, I can not play games with my friends on Yahoo Messenger.

It could be a coincidence, but when I upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262 I can not play games with my friends on Yahoo Messenger. I know that when I've updated for a reason that I had to try 3 times before it took. It shows that it is updated. I wonder if I have to uninstall and reinstall. Also, I never use Internet Explorer 8 but when I went there to check I found a plug check link there and it showed over there that Adobe Flash Player necessary update but it was an older version and not a Foxfire had updated me too. Now I'm really confused if it causes a problem. I've never had to control Internet Explorer for plug-ins before. Have always just updated to Foxfire since that's what I use. Adobe Flash Player seems to play videos OK not really sure if this is the issue or not. My Java plug-ins have been very well and have been updated some time there, so I know it's not that. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

    Hey again,
After hours of reading and checking to make sure I had good things enabled, I did, I gave up and uninstalled the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, they gave me and re-installed and later I had my friend get on Messenger and we tried games and it worked this time.
For some strange reason when I updated it took me 3 tries before it took. So even if he told me that it has been installed, apparently it wasn't really. Just goes to show you that you can not trust what you see.
What has really scratching my head was I went to Internet Explorer 8, which I never use more and discovered you can now get Mozilla plug in slip out there and when I did showed that same Adobe Flash Player is outdated but it was to a different version. Not knowing if it would help, I installed a new too and he said it was his understanding that it does not. So I guess you can have 1 version installed on the computer 1 despite 2 browsers different different versions. It becomes too complicated for me. Laughing out loud!
I work with computers all the time at work but not the technical stuff. If it's something simple, I can guess through it to help someone but it's my first personal computer for me and is a former first, so I got experience using different types. We use the desk at work as well. Personally, I like computers laptops for various reasons. And the mention of people many browsers go way over my head.
Please answer this question though and you answer back.

  • Installed Adobe Flash Player update and now get the security warning message

On each page on that I click I get the warning following pop box IE. A website wants to open web content outside of protected mode. This program will open outside of protected mode". The Web site, whether is Adobe Flash Player.  I can't get rid of the pop up if I click on allow.  I can click on don't allow not, but for every thing I'm in, I get this pop up warning window.  I do not think that I have to click on "don't show me this message again" that I should?

I asked this question on the Adobe forum, and while a lot of people have looked at my question, I did not get all the answers.  I also went to support at Microsoft and found this problem.  The only difference is that the problem is for Vista and I have Windows 7.  Otherwise, it's exactly the same thing.  He said to check for a fix.  I clicked the button to fix, but then he said that it was not available.  I don't understand.  First he said it was, but when I clicked it, it said that it was not.  Is it because I have Windows 7 and not Vista?

As you can probably, I'm not the sharptest knife in the drawer when it comes to computer problems so I could sure use some help.  I also installed all updates latest IE.  That did not help.  I would like just to uninstall Adobe Flash Player but don't have many programs need?  I you could use some help here.  Thank you.

I tried to follow your steps as carefully as I could.  I'm sorry to report that it did not work.  What I finally had to do was to make a back up and restore.  I backed up before 3 days, which was a bunch of Windows updates.  I probably lost all updates but guess what - the warning box has disappeared.

Thank you very much for taking the time & than give me such clear instructions, step by step.  The fact that you tried is appreciated by me.

  • Adobe Flash Player update - pigybacked Dregol and Glassbottle!

15/05/2015 at 0700 Adobe Flash Player has pushed an update to my computer with the familiar window pop up, who advised a 'necessary' update, I clicked on it to start the process and my AVAST Antivirus software immediately went into overdrive...  He quickly blocked 15 programs to run as a Trojan horse named 'Bottle of glass', who had apparently allow a port to open on my computer that I could see that the files were still loading on my computer.   I unplugged my network cable and the download is finished.    I've stopped working on my projects and immediately ran Malwarebytes to eliminate all threats.  He found and managed to destroy the file attacking (Dregol.A) and is the sub folder, closed the ports that have been used to download malicious software.  Altogether, it was three pages of output and 48 cases in total, not counting those who had been completed and put into quarantine by AVAST.

Glass bottle is the Trojan horse that opens a port, starts the download process for Dregol and other malicious software before, it can be stopped.  Dregol then installs a version of compromise of the browser Chrome and makes your browser by default, using the system level authorization when the user clicks on the button "install" on the update of Flash Player. It redirects then searched by default in all browsers installed engines and then make sure that you receive false results of research on the web "Dregol" compromised and starts downloading it is different loads to your computer.  It opens also several ports, including 21 and 22 to establish two communications path within your computer for remote access.

I tried to find a way to report to Adobe, but all my attempts to do so resulted in dead ends or redirects.  My last attempt to 'chat' with a representative was very disappointing, to say the least.  For the Staff of Adobe, please have reported you these attacks a simplified and easy process for us - end users of your products.  To be pushed email, link to forum for chat and return to email is quite frustrating.  I lost a few hours of my time with this issue this week, if Adobe is not interested in providing support or a way to report easily as these attacks please clarify that so we don't waste our time.

For the rest of us-- until Adobe Flash update engine to solve this vulnerability - disable automatic updates and uninstall the adobe Download Manager.  If you've come from Dregol - run Malwarebytes, use the options in full for all THE files and search scan on your computer open ports.  Dregol in itself is not directly dangerous for your user data, but it downloads without your permission can be extremely dangerous!

    Charles Hedricks says:

It was not an indication of impersonation or act of foul play at all.

Unfortunately, malicious actors who create these malicious/false Flash Player sites are very good at copying the brand/logo Adobe and/or Flash Player and sometimes it is very difficult to determine that it is a false notification or site (a common one is Flash Player Pro... There is no such product Adobe).  The other day, on another computer, the router someone has been infected and changed the IP of the DNS.  The only indication to me that it was a malicious site was the URL of the page is redirected to.  A normal user as you would know the difference as the page itself resembled the official page of the Adobe Flash Player Download Center.

We will actively after these malicious actors.  If you come across these fake sites to install/update Flash Player to their message to me please.  I pass on to the appropriate people here at Adobe when users tell me about them or I find research on the web.

  • Adobe Flash Player update

I got a popup indicating that "an update to Adobe Flash Player is available" popup has a black background with a red Adobe in the upper left logo.  Options below are of "Remind Me later" or "install".

    Additional popup States:

"This update includes improvements in ease of use, security online and stability, as well as new features that help developers to provide a rich and engaging experience.  Improvements in this release include; improving the performance of 3D content and games; improved performance video and compatibility; the experience of new APIs to enhance your experience on the latest devices.  Note: If you have selected to allow Adobe install updates, this update will be installed on your system automatically within 45 days or you can choose to download it now. »

Is this a legitimate popup or is it perhaps malware?  At this point, I closed the contextual and went to the site Web window to Adobe to download Flash Player version 21.0.0.242, but I'm always interested to know if the pop up is really Adobe.  Thanks for your thoughts on this topic.

    I have a 15 "Macbook Pro (2014).  OS X El Capitan 10.11.4

It is without doubt legitimate - Adobe have the facility to announce an update. The danger is when you get a pop-up Web site, which suggests that an update is required to see content here - which is likely to be a scam.

In any event, should be always do exactly what you did and go to the own Adobe site to download the update from there.
