Adobe PDF printer works is not in Illustrator since 9.3.2 update.

Hi all

Since the update to Acrobat Pro 9.3.2,and I was not able to print to PDF from Illustrator using the printer Adobe PDF (Adobe PDF 9.0 on my printer list).

I tried several reboots and also deleted the printer and run the Acrobat Installation of repair on the Help menu in Acrobat to reinstall the printer, but the problem remains.

I also tried to print from other programs (Photoshop, Firefox and Thunderbird) and the printer worked fine so I suspect that this my be isolated to Illustrator.

No error message is given and the Illustrator print jobs are listed as completed in the printer list, but no files are created.

I have a work-around, printing of Postscript file, then conversion to PDF in Distiller and it seems to work very well, but not my ideal solution.

I checked the updates in Illustrator, but none is available.

System details:

OS X 10.5.8 (MacBook Pro 15 ", about 2.5 years)

Adobe Creative Suite CS 3, Acrobat Pro 9.3.2,and Illustrator 13.0.2

Any ideas?

Thank you very much

Dave

Why not you use a direct recording to PDF in Illustrator? You will get a better product.

  • "error on adobe pdf printing.

    Hi all

I have a new installation of Acrobat DC (15.006.30097) on a new installation (not an upgrade) Windows 10 64-bit (Intel i7, SSD, 8 GB of memory). Creating PDFs using the menus in Word / Excel / PPT works perfectly.  However, while the creation of PDFs by printing to 'Adobe PDF' created successfully the resulting pdf file, a pop-up "on Adobe PDF print error" appears and the document remains in the print Adobe PDF queue.  So after every pdf I created by printing to the Adobe PDF format, I need to manually clear the Adobe PDF document print queue.

Word of welcome from thoughts and thanks.

    Hi AndyNils,

Open Acrobat DC, go to the Help menu and repair the installation.

  • Problem with InfoPath via the Adobe pdf printer print

    Hello

It seems that in some cases to the printer Adobe pdf makes the text box a little narrower than THE InfoPath. So we have packaging Word and number of lines in the PDF can be only in the InfoPath form. But the output area is not resolved. So the end of the text may be corrupted:

I checked this approach, but it does not help:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Acrobat/KB/missing-or-garbled-text-printing.html

The same behavior is with different IEs.

Could you please help to solve this problem?

Must be a bug in InfoPath from the Adobe PDF printer simply reports the available printer box and print what they say in print, where it says print. Could be a problem with the printer driver change. Try to set default Adobe PDF before you start InfoPath, might work.

We have seven machines 64-bit Windows 7 with Adobe Pro XI (part of the Technical Communication Suite).  On the same machine, we are unable to change the settings Adobe PDF printing preferences for the following:

Adobe PDF security: it is grayed out and we cannot change. No selection is available in the menu dropdown.

To Adobe PDF file: while not gray and we are unable to change and no selection is available in the menu dropdown.  On other computers, it is listed as ' output PDF from Adobe:

What should we do this one computer, so that we can modify the two line items?

I removed the printer from the machine and took the repair function on Acrobat.  I changed the default settings: article several times.  Who has not solved the problem.  I suspect that it is perhaps a difference in the actual driver.  Any suggestions?

Log in as the local administrator of the machine.  This does not mean the network administrator account or the working group administrator account.  This means the owner/administrator of the local computer ( Log using built in administrator |) Create the local admin account. 7, 8, Windows Vista ).  You are able to access these features when logged in as the administrator of the local computer?  If Yes, then it is a probably correctable account permissions problem.  If not, then you have a machine permissions problem, which is more serious.

Updates are essential when you use an older version. Even older versions can be implemented in 32-bit systems, but must have workarounds. However, people have reported success for AA8 with systems 32 and 64-bit, but critical updates.

  • Cannot find the Adobe PDF printer

I'm trying to convert a Word document to PDF by right-clicking a Word document and it saying to convert to Adobe PDF. I get the error message "cannot find the printer 'Adobe PDF' or"Acrobat Distiller". You want to run the installer in repair mode? "I try to run the repair mode and it will work the repair mode, but nothing changes. Also, I used to have an Adobe tab in my Microsoft Word program, but it's over. All these problems started when I got a new computer that is running Windows 7. Any idea on how to solve this problem? Now I'll have to use PDF Complete, but I prefer to use my Adobe!

No, but you may need to do some work to get AA8 to work on your system. The first step is to update, currently in 8.3.1 (you have 8.0.0 that maybe your problem). AA8 is not certified for use on Win7, but several people have managed to make him run. However, you may encounter hickups sometimes even if it runs. In the meantime, try to open the document in WORD and print it on the Adobe PDF printer. If it works, you have at least one method of production.

The next step is to understand why PDF Maker does not work. To do this, open the document in WORD, and make sure that the Adobe menu appears. In WORD 2007, it will probably be the right most of the Acrobat named menu item (which is on my WORD 2007 with AA8 system, although this is a VISTA machine). If this menu does not appear, then the macro from Adobe in WORD must be enabled.

If the printer is not running, then the additional work is needed. Let us know what is the current state, and then we can go from there.

  • Printer Adobe PDF 'printing' corrupted characters

Acrobat Professional v9.5.0 (Acrobat reports there is no update available)

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I print various applications and web pages on my 'Adobe PDF' printer to save things in the form of PDF files.

In the last months, I started having problems with my Adobe PDF printer. This problem has happened twice just yesterday, in fact.

I will be looking at a web page and choose to print it as a PDF (for example, an invoice). I provides the name of the file and choose to print and Acrobat to display the newly created PDF file, and there characters corrupted in various places.

If I try to print in PDF format again, I get the same results.

However, if I print the article in the Microsoft XPS format, it works very well and all the characters are readable.

I don't know what to do. I saw an article on embedding the fonts, but it seems that all the standard "web safe fonts" are already set to be incorporated into the PDF file through Distiller (if that is what is doing printing to create the PDF file). If I have to choose fonts to embed in the PDF, it seems extremely difficult to determine which fonts are used by each site or application by selecting all the manually to be incorporated into the files.

Surely, there must be a simpler solution to this question.

I too had this annoying problem, usually printing of https sites, although the address of the site could be a coincidence.

    What worked for me was:

    1. Select Print
    2. In the print dialog box, select Adobe PDF , and then Preferences.
    3. In the Print Options dialog box, the tab should be Adobe PDF settings
    4. Clear the rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts
    5. Select OK

If the box is already disabled, it can be caused by something similar. It worked so I went no further. I have not yet checked to see if this must be done each time or how to do it by default.

  • Adobe PDF printer - control programmatically

    Hello

I have an MS Access 2007 application that uses an Adobe printer to create PDF files.  We're working for several years on XP machines but from where the PC upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and MS Office 2010 32-bit it has stopped working.

The version of acrobat and distiller is 9.  I used the registry change to specify the name of the file that I created as described in the guide to Distiller9APIReference http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/Distiller9APIReference.pdf page 15/16

    Download

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Distiller\PrinterJobControl]

    "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe" =

    'c:\MyPDFoutputFileName.pdf '.

Initially, I could specify the PDF file to create, and then wait for it to be created before moving the file to the server.  Now even though the registry seems to be changed as before the user is now be prompted to enter a file name.

I printed the Adobe PDF through word and Notepad and they appear in the same registry, so I guess this isn't a registry problem 32-bit/64-bit.

Unfortunately I was not responsible for the earlier installation or current adobe products have so no idea which can be different between then.  The name of the printer changed to Adobe for Adobe PDF if that makes a difference but I changed the code to call the new printer.

Any help on how to track down the issue would be more useful.

    Nathan

The solution was in the registry after all.

  • How to create a second Adobe PDF printer with different parameters?

    Hi all

I know that it is possible to create copies more or less unlimited normal printers under Windows (XP SP2) which each have their own settings. Very useful for standard jobs that require special configurations.

We want to use the same technique for the creation of PDF. Now, I'm wondering how to create a second Adobe PDF printer?

I try to create a new printer on the printer port "my Documents\ * .pdf" which is used by the existing printer, but I wonder what driver to use. Unfortunately there is no Adobe entry in the list and I can not find manually, either.

We are still on Acrobat 8 (Professional)

    Any tips?

    Thank you very much

    Mike

The easiest way is to add a generic printer driver. Then enter the properties, change the name and set up the port and in the printer driver. Then edit the remaining properties. You may need to leave after selecting Properties and then open back for these properties took effect. If you are looking for using the PDF Maker printer you should change the name to Adobe PDF, and you can have one of these. For use as a printer, then the other name will work fine.

It's been a while since I've done this type of addition, but it worked when I did it.
