Adobe Reader can read aloud in French/other languages?

Hello - I'm trying to figure out if Adobe Reader can read other languages aloud. If possible, should be activated via Adobe Acrobat Professional? or?

Hi Nazely,

If you have Acrobat (not just the free reader) you can set the language of the document under file > properties > Advanced tab under the drop down language menu.

You can use the 'Read aloud' function directly from your Adobe Reader software.

  • Open a PDF file in Adobe Reader.
  • Go to the view menu & go to 'Read aloud' & choose ' activate Read out Lout. "

  • When you have enabled 'Read aloud' gain access the view menu & go to 'Read aloud' the choice between the desired option "Read this page only" or "read at the end of the Document.

Let me know if you experience any issue or questions.

Kind regards

Nicos

Can I install Adobe Reader on one drive other than the C: drive?

    Hello

Welcome to Adobe Community. Yes, it can be installed on a different drive. Although some of the files installed by this last will be always installed on the C: drive.

When you run the Setup program, use "Change destination folder" at the bottom of the Panel

If you have Adobe Reader is installed on the C: drive, you must uninstall it before installing a new version to a different location.

  • Adobe Reader 9.5 package 'All languages' MSI?

I have in my Adobe Reader 9.4.7 'All languages' installed software company's computers.

I searched on Adobe's Web site for a Msi package upgrade to version 9.5, but I could not find.
I realized that is only available msi packages to update for the MUI version or an AIR package that installs the version 9.5 "AllLanguages" from scratch.

How can I update my business computers with Adobe Reader 9.4.7 'All languages' installed? Is there a package Msi for Adobe Reader 9.5 update - all languages?

    Sorry for the conufsion earlier.

And Yes, the error message you receive everything by applying the MUI update on an installation no MUI is expected, since the target itself products are different.

In order to update the facilities no MUI Reader 9.4.7, you use the 9.5.0 installer full player available on: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.5.0/en_US/AdbeRdr950_en_US.msi

You can push this MSI on network update you all drive installations 9.4.7 Player 9.5.0.

    Hope that clarifies things.

  • 'Read aloud' does not not with Adobe Reader XI

I'm having the same problem to start the function "Read Out Loud" on Adobe Reader XI that many others have reported.  I have the latest version of the reader XI, I run on Windows 7, all the other texts to voice features work OK (for example, the voice "text-to-speech" test windows works fine).

I tried all the 'simple' patches that have been proposed on the Adobe community forums.  I tried to uncheck the setting "Enable Protected Mode at startup" in the preferences.  As many others have pointed out, this is not the problem for me.  I had been using the "Read Out Loud" functionality successfully on another PC (under Adobe Reader X and Windows 7), so I'm familiar with it and I was running it properly.

On my PC, the 'Read Out Loud' function seems to work, but there is no sound.  All audio functions work normally for my other programs. First, I click "Activate Read Out Loud", and then "read to end of Document."  I can then click on parts of the text and the text is surrounded by a box that says "Read Out Loud" works, but no sound is produced.  I work with PDF files that are not images, the "Read Out Loud" function works perfectly with these PDFs on other PCs.

So I have poured a lot of time on this problem and have exhausted all of the 'simple' patches offered on this forum (which did not work for other users, whether, who say they have renounced player and moved on to other software).  This is a known problem that has been reported by many other users - you really tackle an update or at least a clear set of instructions that will correct the problem.  "Read Out Loud" is a very useful feature, I would like to continue using it with the player.  I know there is another text to voice software, but there are a few ffeatures player I like and I want to continue using it if a fix is available.

Any help on this would be appreciated.  Thank you.

2 years later and you just solved my problem with your message.

    Thank you.

God richly bless you, in Jesus name. (no offense intended).

I struggled with this problem since my system recently updated to windows 10. I tried a number of things, the repair function Inc. for adobe. Nothing helps. I just read your post and hey presto, I chose another voice (which apparently I had not tried before - and this function took only). So useful.

    Thanks again,

  • Adobe Reader Crash Protection - BUG? (Degenerate into programming team?)

    Hello

One of my friends has been editing a 260 page book in Adobe Reader, adding annotations and other things. Around page 140, the next day, his computer froze. After reboot, Adobe Reader tried and failed to recover what she was working on. She had not registered the changes manually itself, while they were lost. Ouch!

I checked, and automatic registration PDF was 272KO, while the new complete PDF 1.2 MB. This suggests that the computer froze partially thanks to the backup of the PDF file. (Probably for a reason unrelated.) Very bad timing. Here's the thing, though - in my first year of programming, it has been ground my head that a common practice is to save to a new file, the outcrop of the car, then delete the old file, and rename it in place. If Adobe Reader have been coded to do this, it seems to me there are two temporary copies to recover-corrupt and the other a correct copy of a few minutes before?

If it isn't do that, while it's dangerous, and I suggest this escalation to the programming team. They should check their automatic registration code, to ensure that it is on par with what write students in first year of programming.

P.S. I had to listen to someone griping about your software for 3 hours now. Difficulty as soon as POSSIBLE for others to spare heartache. Thank you!

  • .Pst files corrupted due to wrong trying to open it with Adobe Reader

This is a second post about the same problem, as previously, I had only one response (from b. from), who asked me to identify my operating system. I am beyond desperate to get this problem fixed.

As described previously (S giraffe - 11/14), I was about to apply a recovery program of electronic mail to some .pst files when, somehow (late at night / tired), I clicked by mistake on 'open with Adobe Reader. Then the disaster! The Adobe Reader logo appeared on the .pst file icon - and also on all other files in the My Documents folder .pst. When I tried to open them I got the following error message:

"Adobe Reader could not open '.pst Outlook (_)' because it is not a type of file supported or because the file has been damaged."

I went back to my drive hard new exernal decompress the original backup files, but these, too, all of them had the logo of Adobe Reader on their icons and brought the same error message. How could try to open a file .pst with Adobe Reader have affected each other .pst on my C drive and in my external hard disk file?

I need to retrieve my emails and contacts! Can anyone tell me anything that allow me to fix everything that makes the Adobe Reader for my .pst files and bring them back to their previous state. I would be extremely grateful.

Adobe Reader 'did not' something to your PST file, but you have probably changed the file association by leaving "Always use the selected program to open this type of file" checked.

What you need to do is to reset the file of Adobe Reader software association and for example replace SCANPST. EXE

If you have a recent system restore (before changing the file association), the restore save point point.  If not, you must manually change (be it in the registry, or by opening the file with SCANPST PST. EXE and again always check 'using the program selected... '. ».

Here is the procedure to disable DEP in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/120778-dep-enable-disable.html.  Make sure that you are logged on as administrator.  Reboot after disabling.  Retry the installation of Adobe.  If it works, turn on DEP and restart to replace the protection of your system.

Download another copy of Adobe of their Web site - the one you have is maybe damaged.

When you install Adobe, do a right-click on the installation icon and click on run as Administrator - this it sometimes helps better work.

    I hope this helps.

  • Adobe Reader DC questions

Numbers lock when you use Adobe Reader DC causing all the keys in sequential numeric type and the only solution is to reboot the system...  This only happens when you use Adobe Reader DC and no other software.

Since it is clearly an Adobe rather than a problem of Windows, the best place to post the question would be in an Adobe forum.

More information on this issue can be found here:

    https://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1672655

A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... and download Adobe Reader 11.0 installation base.

Then download each individual updates and run them sequentially.

I installed back to the last update of security which is version 08 and were able to register under normal operations.

You will need to disable the automatic updates to keep up with the 08 version, until Adobe fixes this problem in a future release.

  • software Adobe reader 11 maintains updated DC.  So frustrating!

Adobe reader 11 continues to disappear from my PC or upgrade to DC.  I don't want to DC!  Have been dealing with this for 3 weeks!  Lost so much time!

Someone has the fix for this?

Hello rebeccajw, open the XI player, go in Edition > Preferences > Updater and select something else that "automatically install updates." You will probably need to download and apply the patches manually to keep XI. The last non - MUI for Windows patch is Adobe - Adobe Reader: for Windows: Adobe Reader 11.0.13 - all languages updated.

  • Software Adobe reader 11 XL crashes whenever I try to open it.

Whenever I try to open Adobe reader, it crashes.  I have re installed, re booted the computer and nothing.  I get the same message "Adobe reader has stopped working".  I use windows & professional, and I'm not goggle chrome.

After installing Windows 10 11 player, I would assume that the first order of the day is to update because Windows 10 support was not added until 11.0.12. (Adobe obviously prefer that you use Acrobat Reader DC.) I would try the latest cumulative patch: Adobe - Adobe Reader: for Windows: Adobe Reader 11.0.17 - all languages updated . BTW the built-in updater will modernize you CD player when even if you don't turn, then you might as well learn how to apply the patches manually if you want to use Reader 11.
