  Make sure that Acrobat Reader DC is updated Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader.

  If the problem persists, try the solution below.

  The default "save under" Acrobat/Reader DC dialog box is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat/Reader, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat/Reader tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems.   To close the tool manually pane first, then navigate to the Edit-> Preferences-> Documents menu-> uncheck "pane open tools for each document.

  Click OK to confirm the changes and restart the application.
