  Open the PDF in Acrobat Reader

  By the low toolset select comment > Freehand

  After doing the drawing freehand click on save at the top right

  Then tap & hold on this drawing freehand in the PDF file and will get a contextual menu just above in the black bar.

  The menu options are: delete, thickness, color, opacity

  From there, you can change the color.

  The latest version iOS supported for the first generation of iPad's iOS 5.1.1.

  The most recent version of the player (15.2.1) does not support iOS 5.1.1.  However, you can install the last compatible version 11.0.1 Reader on iOS 5.1.1.

  There are no more recent version of Adobe Reader for Palm.  You search for a freeware called PalmPDF application.  Otherwise, a more recent version of Documents To Go will also read apps native .pdf without going through the conversion process used by Adobe Reader for Palm.

  I found the files on the ftp server:

  with these two files I can now completely reinstall Adobe Reader 11 to the current version.
