Advanced Docking Station vs T400

We ordered only 5 Advanced Docking stations for use with our T400s. We were assured that they would work. So they arrive today and imagine my surprise to see that the Ultrabay housing on the side is not compatible with all things ultrabay, we already bought for the T400s.

An advanced docking station are to the T400 which you know the same connections as the laptop Ultrbay?

Will be the docks of the art work with the T400, but the Ultrabay Enhanced on the dock slots have old EIDE interface and not the interface Serial ATA of new Txxx, Rxxx, ultrabay Exxx series thin mobile computer, Ultrabay Enhanced and Ultrabay Slim thickness are also different.

So I guess you forgot to ask also if the docking station advanced is also compatible with the SATA interfaced Ultrabay Slim drive of the T400...

You will have to wait for the new advanced dock is not yet released as the best to my knowledge.

    Hi all

I recently got a new HP ZR2440w monitor that I would like to joing my whole upward.

Here is my current set up:

HP ProBook 6470b 230W Advanced Docking Station + an HP L1950 monitor.

My office is extended from the laptop to the Monitor HP L1950, giving double me poster.

I would like to extend my desktop to the new monitor HP ZR2440w giving me 3 displays (laptop display + HP L1950 monitor HP ZR2440w monitor)

For example, my question is: when I extend laptop to ZR2440w so that already granted to L1950 the ZR2440w does not connect.

Note: I the ZR2440w connected to the docking via Display Port and speak it L1950 via DVI.

I also tried both monitors on DVI.

I tried the software graphics intel installed on my laptop but when the laptop lid is opened it will only connect to one of the external monitors.

What I read I can only support 2 screens at the same time, but I feel like it rather kill to have so many display on the docking station ports and cannot use a while the laptop lid is open.

    Any help is greatly appericated.

    Thank you

    Steve.

Yes, this was a limitation for awhile. The video controller in the laptop is the pull-out to the dock and it is capable of only configuration "dual head" If you get the screen of the laptop and the screen more.

  • Adding a HDD to my Advanced Docking Station

I have a 8470p and 120w Advanced Docking Station A7E36AA #ABA Elitebook and I add a HARD drive to the docking station for backup. I went online hard drive caddy and bought a 3rd party to go with a WD 500 GB hard drive (WDC WD50000LPVX-00V0TT0).  Physical installation went well and I can see the drive within the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology, but I do not see it in Solution Explorer. I don't know what I'm missing, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Removable disk does not remain mounted (HP EliteBook & advanced Docking Station)

    Hello

I have a 8560 that connect me to HP 230W Advanced Docking Stations to each of my two workplaces. The 8560 p has a SSD drive and I use an identical SSD in the Bay of the docking station, which I use for automatic backups (I spend the SSD between two docking stations when I move locations) eSATA.

It works very well at the start. After loading the disc, it is recognized by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and presented as an "external drive" in the application of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology against the port of relevant (3). I can also see it in Windows Explorer and use it and work of backups when manually initiated.

However, after a period of inactivity SSD in the docking station is 'removed' by Intel Rapid Storage Technology (pop up says that he has been removed from Port 3). If I go into the application of the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology, it reports the port (Port 3) as 'empty '.

I have to remove and reinsert the SSDS to get the Intel Rapid Storage Technology and Windows technology to recognize it again. It means always to my backups automatic (they are planned for the night) in case of failure.

How to stop the disc being dismantled? I need that remains mounted until I have to physically remove or disconnect the laptop.

I am running Windows 7 and have applied all updates of current Windows (using Microsoft Update) and HP (using HP Support Assistant).

The SSD is a Crucial M4-CT512M4SSD2 (512 gb) firmware version 0009 (I'm aware that this is a firmware updated version and am upgrading, but don't think it is relevant to my current problem)...

    Thank you

    Nigel

    Problem solved.

The issue was the Crucial SSD firmware.  V0009 I had apparently has a known problem with the recovery of unexpected power loss.  When the laptop slept or the HD has been disabled by the energy saver, it was not handled properly and the SSD froze.

The SSD to 0040H firmware update solves the problem.

  • What HARD drive is compatible with HP 120W Advanced Docking station (NZ222AA)

Please tell me that HARD drive is compatible with the Bay of integrated upgrade HP 120W Advanced Docking Station (NZ222AA) SATA... I can't find the info nor in the manual the user, or from the HP site. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Please check this:

While neither station can be upgraded, both have a Bay of upgrade which allows you to install an additional hard drive. If you choose to install the additional drive, you will add additional gigabytes to your current mobile storage space. However, if you choose to take advantage of the extra space, a standard hard drive does not fit into the Bay to upgrade. HP offers a hard drive 500 GB, specially designed for the upgrade on the 120W and the 230W Bay; You must order the HDD upgraded through HP.

  • Connection of 3 monitors at a HP 230W Advanced Docking Station (NZ223AA)

I am the proud owner of (3) HP 2711 x LCD screens.  Is it possible to connect all 3 of these screens simultaneously to one soon to buy, HP 230W Advanced Docking Station (NZ223AA), using a combination of DVI-digital (2)-24 pin digital DVI connections and that of DisplayPort - 20 connections DisplayPort pin with a DisplayPort to DVI adapter video adapter converter display adapter? or is there an another/better way to do it?

    Thanks in advance!

Okay, it looks like with tha model you choose Intel graphics card or ATI.  I can't determine that you have chosen, but we know Intel only supports two and from the specifications for the ATI page looks like it only supports 2 as well.  Here is the link:

  • Graphic PCI - e to the advanced docking station is not a value of the loss of the button disconnect!

    Greetings,

After using the ATI Radeon X 1300 in the docking station advanced with my W500 (4061-38U) for more than a year, I'm in a clear position to conclude, it is not worth. Here are the reasons why you should not have this configuration:

-the complete loss of a KEY using a Docking Station features: the ability to quickly dock/undock the system without rebooting.

-l' use of the PCI - e 1 X is performance of garbage.

-native resolution of 1900 x 1200 of the 4061-38U, which is very frustrating to read. If this screen ends up not used at all.

-the ability to connect 2 displays: 1 DVI using, the other using VGA with loss of quality very little according to the screen, cable and the resolution.

-the docking station operating in the high fan noise (even though I had it worked)

-Finally the dock become unstable due to electricity and heat problems

-the size of the time, thinking about how to continue to be stubborn and approaching different configurations to improve performance in you question:

-> Lenovo USB DVI box, (slow performance, bandwidth USB. CPU consumption)

-> Other products USB DVI (same questions)

-> Double/triple Matrox display (likely to be slow performance, not part is no PCMCIA card for Laptop Docking procedure, do not know if it requires a restart, too expensive to my point of view)

-Finally and not least important, the size of the space: it is possible to operate the laptop closed cover and care so one of the LCD on the dock, table mounted VESA.

So, yesterday, I got back to this configuration more simple but more effective: W500 + advanced dock + 1 Viewsonic 22 '' LCD in landscape + Viewsonic 22 "LCD 1 running in portrait mode + disk backup in the dock UltraBay + external USB mouse and keyboard.

    Hi ppl

After more than a year and I still maintain the same configuration: mentioned in this topic. He plays very well, graphics wise.

Overall, the W500 is a great laptop. It's been updated with a 256GB SSD Samsung 830 and nothing more.

All the best for you people

  • E5530 + Intel HD 3000 plus Advanced Docking Station is no triple monitors?

It does not appear that a Dell Latitude E5530 with Intel HD 3000 graphics and a Docking Station advanced brings the possibility to use two external monitors OVER the laptop monitor. Why? Why Dell would push a docking solution that supports supported two external monitors if the laptop monitor would leave when two external monitors are connected to the workstation? Frankly I think it's sneaky. I feel to chip away at. They got an additional $ 200 or more out of me for nothing. Why would someone buy an expensive docking station takes supported two external monitors if the intention was NOT to use three monitors? Has any sense at all.

Dell reference... it wouldn't have happened if you had taken away local sales reps in my area. These idiots you turn on the phone (and switch on every 2-3 months) and call it "sellers" are anything but. Our 'seller' actually told me on the phone that this laptop and this docking station would support three monitors. Flat, he lied to me. And now I have no recourse. I can't believe that I live in a city of 600,000 inhabitants and Dell cannot fit to hide even a single human living on this territory. Ridiculous. This would not have happened 5 years ago when I had a direct representative to visit me every month.

The E5530 is the model of 'budget' - upgrade to the best video that you would have needed to buy the E6530, which has the hybrid video option.

  • T430 advanced docking station

Is there a such docking station like 2503 for older ThinkPad (IE. T61)? If this is not the case, 2503 would work with T430? I am particularly interested in a docking station to upgrade to the external GPU.

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-61232

2503 that you linked works for the T61.

If you want an external GPU for the T430, you go ExpressCard.

  • T500 must restart to recognize the PCIe card in an advanced docking station

We have worked through most of the problems with the upgrade of T43 T500 (2055 model), but has this annoying issue.

We have maps Matrox M9140 PCIe installed in the advanced dock (model 2503).

All the drivers are installed and they work very well outside this question:

When the T500 is turned on in the dock, it will boot to the LCD screen.

Only after restarting the computer laptop in the dock it will boot to the attached monitors.

After this reboot to the dock, you can restart the portable computer as often as you like and it will perform properly in the Matrox.

As soon as disconnect you, he seems to "forget" the start the matrox.

Every morning that dock us the computer, turn on them, when the bios password is requested press Ctrl-Alt-Del and the boots of laptop for the Matrox.  Not a failure critical, but boring to do every day.

We tried all the display settings in the BIOS, boot to screen LCD/PCI, discrete/switchable graphics, etc.

Any of these solve the problem.

Of course it's a BIOS problem, because it never gets to the loading of the operating system.

Thanks in advance for any response.

  • Mechanism on Docking Station advanced eject HP computer broken

Hi, I don't really know where to put this post so I try my luck here. I have for some time, HP Advanced Docking Station. Warranty is over and the eject mechanism is broken. I don't really know the right terminology, so excuse my English in the present.

One of the nozzles ensure that the laptop is stable in its place is broken and it does not come to its default position"after having ejected laptop.

Fot the comparison here is the default position of 'beak' or whatever his name:

I found that there is a spring inside which is return correct position "beak" to him. Unfortunately the plastic on which was leaning on the spring is broken:

I see clearly what is wrong. And now, my questions: where I get this as a spare? What is the correct name of this component? Is there a product or some ID number to find online?

Thank you all for your replies,

    Miroslav

That's what I was trying to tell you. HP doesn't sell replacement parts for a docking station. Your only option is to try to find a dock broke very cheap on ebay (they invented sometimes) or buy one that works, but does not have an adapter sector or something, so it will at little cost. If you can provide me the complete part number of the dock that I can probably point you to the auction for a dock $ 15-$ 30, which is much less than any spare part HP for anything whatsoever.

  • HP EliteBook 857w: docking station HP 90 w, supporting two monitors

I am currently working with an EliteBook 8570w on a 90w docking station.  I have an external monitor and the laptop lid open for a second, more small monitor.  I would plug a second external monitor and continue to use the laptop when the lid is open for e-mail.  I can't find a definitive answer on whether Yes or no this is possible and what is the best configuration to achieve the desired final result.  Right now, the external monitor is connected to the VGA port.  The second monitor has both DVI and VGA ports so I could continue the path with the cord or an adapter that would work best.  It is best to connect the second DVI or DisplayPort monitor on the docking station?  What installer, if necessary, would allow me to keep the 2 external screens and the open laptop monitor?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

Thanks for joining the Forums today!

While using your monitor 8570w, when it is connected to a docking station (we tested this using an advanced docking station) there are two valid configurations for three independent displays. You can connect two additional monitors through DVI or only a monitor via DVI and the other through display port. It's using the advanced docking station.

If one of your VGA monitors should still work the same as above.

Here is a link to an image of an adapter, you can use to connect via display port: http://img.misco.eu/resources/images/products//100/HWP/FH/FH973AT/FH973AT_6_1600x1600.jpg

  • Grateful two monitors on a docking station

For some reason windows is not recognizing my two monitors I have connected to my HP NZ223AA 230W Advanced Docking Station.

I use Windows7 64 bit on an HP EliteBook 8560w with an AMD over-pants m5950 graphic card.  As near as I can tell the docking station allows the two DVI ports to use as well as the grahpics card is good for multiple monitors.

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect a third monitor?  In other words, I have my laptop connected to a station host and then two other monitors for a total of three.

Cannot be done. The graphics card is soldered to the motherboard.
