After downloading and installing an update of safety about an hour ago, firefox will not start

After going online this morning, with my firefox browser, a box came say a security update was available and must be downloaded and installed. This has been done without apparent problem. At the end of the update, a note came up saying that the update should come into service after restarting my computer. What I've done. The computer started normally, but after clicking on the firefox icon, the program is not started. My computer is using Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Hello tncovery, it works when re-download you the full installation file from getfirefox.com and install on top of your current installation?
