After I installed Firefox, I'll be able to retrieve my current Favorites?

I am currently using Windows XP, and I wanted to know if I'll be able to recover my current Favorites after I installed Firefox, as well as whatever it is saved on my desktop.

Thank you

Ian Turner

I would back up the bookmarks to an external location (outside the profile and maybe a flash key or a CD). In this way, you have a copy of backup you want to restore. In fact, you could back up your complete profile.

  • Problem of Double synchronized after re-installing Firefox Android

    I have the latest version of Firefox for android and Firefox for Mac. The synchronization did not work so I deleted my version of android and reconnected. When I deleted the android version, I had about 8 tabs open. After Re - Downloading Firefox and connecting to my sync account, I realized that my android has now doubled. The tabs I had open in my old Firefox has deferred with my new set of tabs. I tried to change my password, delete and re-do my account and my sync account management, but I have only two options: delete and change the password. I would like to delete all the old download android tabs and have only two synchronizations (mac and android).

    Hi cap3618,
    I understand the frustration. Sync is not a feature that allows granular control of which inputs are synchronized as well as weather or not a feature is not synchronized device. It all devices to synchronize bookmarks or none of them.

    To avoid this in the future, there are some addons that can create backups of profiles and FEBE which backup https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../febe/ your stuff.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot be used after I installed Firefox 38 Netflix. Always ask to install Silverlight?

    I was under the impression that we can now play videos Netflix without using Silverlight, after the new update. I did not understand correctly? Netflix is always asking me to install Silverlight. I uninstalled it after reading the changes.

    Netflix still test the module Adobe DRM and has not signed on this issue yet, so Silverlight will be necessary until Netflix allows this plugin module to use.

  • After you install Firefox 23, I can't find any more Google as search engine in my search bar, and I can not also restore default search engines.

    Restore default search engines is dimmed, and when I go to Google.com to try to add it as a search engine, there is no option to do so.

    By default, the Google search plugin is installed in this folder:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\browser\searchplugins

    See google.xml?

    If this isn't the case, you may need to reinstall Firefox 23. No required uninstallation, you can get the installer on the following page:

    http://www.Mozilla.org/Firefox/all/ (find your language and your OS)

    If you have google.xml in the usual location, it is possible for the data file which stores the search plugins is corrupt. You can solve that by renaming or deleting files below and have Firefox regenerate them.

    Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

    Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

    Switch back to Firefox and output

    Break while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename (or delete) the following files:

    search.json => rename to search.json.old
    search-metadata.json (if found) => delete
    search.sqlite (if found) => delete
    search.rdf (if found) => delete

    Restart Firefox. I hope that now Google will be reintroduced in the list.

  • After you install firefox 32. Dowloads beta 9 is not finished.

    File download is completely, but it remains in 'downloads' with 0 kb/s speed.

    Hello gato_gris, this is a bug in the latest version 32 beta 9 which is treated in the version Release Candidate 1 that should be deployed via auto-mises to update to users of the beta tomorrow.

    a workaround for now would be to conclude Subject: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears), click somewhere on the page, and then create a new string with the name browser.safebrowsing.appRepURL and the value https://sb-ssl.google.com/safebrowsing/clientreport/download?key=%GOOGLE_API_KEY%

  • Just installed firefox. connected to one of my accounts, g-mail, but cannot connect to a 2nd. Message: "cookies not enabled", but they are. What now?

    I just installed firefox. I was able to access my major account google mail, but when I try to access my second and third google email account, I get a message "not cookies are enabled". I checked and cookies are enabled, but I still get the same message. I'm not tech savvy and don't really know what to do now. I need to access my e-mail, so it is a major obstacle. I love Mozilla and really want to go back to IE. I've done everything that has been proposed, but the message persists. Not found an answer fairly simple in the forums. Please help.
    Here's the google mail message:

    It's confusing because you can log on to an account, so how could be disabled cookies?

    Maybe your Google cookies have become confused or corrupted. It would be interesting to compensation in order to see if that helps. Here's how:

    Everything a page on google.com (can be find, does not need to be Gmail), try either:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.
    • Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > additional information > "View Cookies".

    In the dialog box that opens, google.com should be filled up. You can delete all the cookies for the site individually here.

    Then try to reload the page and sign in again. Who help me?

  • Automatic connection does not work after re - install

    Visited bad link in Facebook! Subsequently, forced to re - install Firefox - from scratch! Saved some files profile as Favorites, passwords, but no extension tricks. Re-installed FireFox after removal of ALL titles I could find in Program Files, Program Files (x 86) and Windows 7 Pro profile.

    When visiting a page that requires a login, Firefox correctly fills the username and password. BUT it does not start the connection. In the past, it was essentially a background process and not really visible to me. Now, stop at the page requesting credentials and click on the button "login".

    I have 'THE VIEW', 'NOSCRIPT' and 'ADBLOCK PLUS '. ALL my plugins are in mode 'ask to activate '.
    I enabled extensions: 'ADOBE ACROBAT - create PDF 1.2' and 'Trend Micro NSC FireFox Extension 5.82.0.1056.

    I would definitely get FireFox to work as it did previously. I don't know where watch/tweak!

    Thank you

    Thank you. It was the cookies which were to be saved. I had no idea of the automatic logon which is recorded. Thanks again.

    Removed the old firefox and tried to install the new firefox downloaded but still getting the same error
    Please help how to overcome this problem

    The solution is the perfect answer if the system is infected with malware

    Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

    If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

    Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

    Your personal data such as bookmarks are stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose data when you uninstall and (re) install or update Firefox, but make sure you do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.
