  • System Restore to factory settings after replacing the hard drive?

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre A52, which recently required a change of hard disk and the removal of a defective RAM 1 GB stick. When I bought my computer, it came with Windows XP Pro and the new hard drive that the updated computer has Windows XP Pro, but it seems to be missing a large part of the software (drivers and programs) that originally came with the computer, and even if I downloaded and installed most of them since the Lenovo Web site There are still some problems related to software that I can't fix. Ideally, I'd like to go back just to restore the system to the factory settings using the ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery program, but I don't know if it will work. All programs and the necessary drivers will be installed again, even if my current hard drive is not 'knows' thereon? I need to get a Windows XP Pro installation CD, if I want to keep my operating system? Also, is it important that my current hard drive is half the previous, or that I now have half as much RAM?

    Thank you

After replacing the hard drive, the only way to restore it to the State of the plant is using the Lenovo installation diskettes. You can also ask if Lenovo has a solution to your problem without having to reinstall Windows.

You can download Lenovo drivers if they are not included on the installation disk. The size of your hard drive does not matter.

  • Cannot open my files money 2005 after replacing the hard drive

Hi, I had to replace the hard drive in my computer and now I am unable to open my money (Version 2005) files. I get an error message indicating "Money cannot locate C:\~~~ or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only file or you are not allowed to change it or your hard drive, it is write protected etc.» I tried uninstalling and re-installing the money, but it has not solved the problem. The problem may be to do with the regional settings during installation of money, but when I re - install the money it is not giving me the option to set the perameters during the installation process for a reason any. My OS is XP Home edition Service Pack 3. How can I solve this problem?

So your real problem is not that the files are missing or read-only, but that the money does not recognize the format the files are in.

Even if you reinstalled Money, maybe you don't have also downloaded and installed some updates have been released for your version.  See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320193:

If you are using Microsoft Money 2005, and you receive this error message after you have reinstalled Money, the behavior may be caused by not having money is not all installed updates.

  • How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive?

How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive? do I have to call microsoft or I can retrieve it somehow to the old hard drive?

Well, that certainly puts a different point of view on this subject.

There are data recovery services that can recover data from disks that have suffered from various types of failures. However, they are quite expensive. Unless the data is particularly useful, it is generally not useful.

If your Windows 7 is an OEM version, installed on the computer when you bought it, the manufacturer could have a recovery disk on sale. If it was a retail copy and you always have the appropriate product/serial number, you can get a DVD of their team of parts replacement.

150:30 errors mean that the licensing mechanism is broken, usually because the software moved instead of being re-installed.

Uninstall, reinstall from the disc or download then enter your serial number.

    Hello

Recently, I replaced the hard drive on my mac.  Already before the replacement, I got the files that I had locked.  Now I'm unable to open the file.  I get the error "the folder 'nom_de_dossier' can not be opened because you don't have permission to see its content".  I looked at the permissions for the folder and everything he says is fetch.  I ran a command in the Terminal and for one of the records in question, that's what I see-

    Running OS X El Capitan

    10.11.4 version

    Try this first:

Start the mac all holding the SHIFT key, it is slow, connection, and then select Restart from the Apple menu.

    When this does not help:

Reset password utility in the recovery Partition:

    1. Restart your computer from the recovery partition.
    2. Open disk utility and run a repair permissions on your boot volume (in ElCapitan click the first aid tab). Once this completed, close disk utility. We do this for good measure.
    3. Open a Terminal from the Utilities menu. Type in resetpassword and select your user (NOT administrator system/root) account in the menu drop-down.
    4. Click on the Reset button at the bottom of the window ACL section and Reset the folder permissions.
    5. Exit the utility password and return to the main recovery menu.
    6. On your keyboard, press + Q and restart your computer. It is very important that you don't hold down the power button to exit the recovery session, or the ACL Reset to occur.
  • How to reinstall the upgrade of Windows 7 after replacing the hard drive

I have a few problems and decided after many hours of nowhere to replace my hard drive, I am running Win7 installed via an upgrade disk, because it doesn't seem to be a startup disk (I want to run repair to try to recover the missing files / corrupted etc.) what I need to install Vista first and then use the upgrade disk?

There are likely to be problems with activation etc as in the past, that a new hard drive has been regarded as the same license is installed on a different machine?

    * original title - hard drive replacement, Q on installation of Windows

Thanks for both answers, but as I could not reinstall Vista due to the lack of drive & key - I put my system together myself have so do not the sticker supplied with the systems, pre-built, I moved twice since the departure of Vista installation, the disk may or may not be somewhere in this House.

My solution was to take the opportunity to upgrade my CPU and add that extra RAM so bought a win7 disc at the same time (which I'll keep somewhere safe). Yes, I've probably lost money by doing it this way, but it's my money to waste.

The end result is that the PC works well which is what matters in the end for me.

    Thanks again for the responses.

Tried the 'recovery cds', but get an error message 'error #1537 file greater than 4 billion number' and recovery has been abandoned halfway after inserting the third cd. The XP Home operating system does not install completely. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much for your help, has soon

    Hello

already tried the recovery process more then once? If so, the error appears at the place of installation? You said that you have installed a new hard drive but actually you have formatted the hard drive before you perform a full restore? That would be really helpful, sometimes recovery is suspended because the disk formatted or partitioned before luckily.

You should really try. One way would be to use the "UBCD4Win' which is a Windows Live CD with really good tools. Format your hard drive with this CD and retry the recovery. Maybe it works...

    Here´s the link to the CD "UBCD4WIn": www.ubcd4win.com ".

  • Can not recover the Windows 7 desktop after replacing the hard drive

I bought a new HP Pavillion Elite (HPE-240f) in August 2010. A week ago my hard drive has no SMART short self-test during systematic hardware diagnostics. I installed a new hard drive of the same size - 1 TB and could never make it work properly. I tried the following (in that order).

    1. using a system repair disc, I got the system from a previous image (which I did shortly after the purchase, install my own software and configuration of all). It worked, but then I noticed that Windows Update was not working. I ran various Microsoft diagnostic tools and discovered that some (unspecified) system files have been damaged or missing. All the fixes I tried didn't work. I ran hardware diagnostics extended, but no problem not found.

    2. I tried to restore the system to the default settings by using the original image on the D partition. At first it seemed to work, but at the last moment when the system started, I saw a message on the screen that Setup is starting services and then got a warning saying that services failed because of (unspecified) problems with hardware.

    3. I tried to restore the system from the system recovery discs and a message "system recovery disks do not support this computer."

    4. I found this Cyberlink utility on the HP website, dealing with precisely this issue. I created a CD tried and it didn't work.

    5. I found this document on the HP Web site, saying that if you are replacing a hard drive with sectors of 512 bytes with a new advanced Format (AF) drive (with areas of 4 096 bytes) and your system was manufactured before October 2010 (as mine was), you must get the new HP recovery disks. I thought I finally found the root of my problems (since the new drive is indeed AF and the old man is not) and ordered HP recovery discs.

    6. the disks arrived today, and I noticed that the version number of the software (for Windows 7 version) is almost the same as on the computer, except that the last digit is 9 on disks and 6 on the computer - I guess it's an update to deal with the problem hard drive AF. However, I get 'system recovery disks do not support this computer' error, if I use the utility from CyberLink recovery disks or not. To be on the safe side, I even used a new hard disc (new 1 TB) right out of the box (never partioned and installed previously) and connected the original keyboard supplied with the computer (I also unplugged everything except the monitor, keyboard and mouse). However, I get the same message. Just out of curiosity I tried to put back the original hard drive (certainly not in best shape, even if the system always starts with him) and still could not recover the system.

    What else can I try?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
