After upgrading aspire v3 - 571 g UEFI, I can't access settings

After the upgrade the UEFI firmware current, when I try to access the settings BIOS ask me a password. I am absolutely sure that I did not put password (I hate BIOS passwords). Now I need to boot from a USB and I can not change the boot sequence. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

EDITED: I read the post about how Acer can help about lost or forgotten passwords ("" there are very few or even no options available from the side of the end user ""), but in this case, I created not just any password, as I said

If it were mine, I remove the battery and the back cover. Locate the CMOS coin cell. There should be a rider nearby to clear the memory of the bios password and reset to the default values. If you can't find the jumper, try to remove the cell of the room for a few hours.

  • After removing a virus from my computer, I can't access any of my programs like Windows Media Player. Pop - up says choose program to open the file type.

After removing a virus from my computer last year, I struggle to access most programs such as media player and other things.  When I try to open something, I get a popup asking me to choose the program I want to use to open this file. For some programs, this file is actually listed.  But for the most part, they did not.  For example, Nero express is what I use to copy CDs or DVDs.  I have to go into a safe mode to use it as well as using programs to run virus checks.  I was told that the virus had somehow corrupted or affected my file extensions.  I almost had cheated using powerful PC Max but did some research beforehand.  Any suggestions?

    original title: File Extension problems

If you need to go to Safe Mode in order to use certain applications (for example, Nero Express), particularly antivirus scans, you most likely have not successfully removed all malware from your computer.

How did you remove the virus from your computer last year?

You then install an antivirus application?  Which one?  Are you still using it?  What's his current subscription? Its subscription has already been authorized expiration?

What version of Windows, including service pack, do you use?

What other anti-malware software do you currently use?

Have you analysed recently with the following free tools?  Otherwise, download, install, update and run scans (not simultaneously) with each of them:
    MalwareBytes AntiMalware
    SUPERAntiSpyware
Like many also restore file associations.

    • Right-click on a file and select open with > choose program.
    • Look in the lists of programs (split in 'Recommend programs' and 'Other programs')
    • If you can't find the application you want to use to open this type of file, click on the button "Browse".
    • The "Program Files" folder should open (if it isn't, go to C:\Program Files
    • Find the program you want to use.  If you are looking in C:\Program Files\------, you determine which file is the actual program.  You should be able to tell from the icon.  If not, see note below)
    • Select the program (the exe file or the name of the program in one of these lists) and check the box "always use the program selected to open this type of file"
    • Click OK
    • Repeat the above for each type of different file according to the needs

Note: If you need to determine the EXE file for an application, just right-click on the shortcut you use to start the program, and then select Properties.  Click on the tab "shortcut".  The 'Target' box contains the path name to go to the executable (EXE file) for the program.   For example, the executable file for Firefox is "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

There are a few exceptions, including but not limited to Microsoft applications, which use a more obscure reference to the target.  Word, for example, indicates the 'target' as a 'Microsoft Office' gray of no matter the version.  The real exe for Word is 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICEnn\WinWord.exe' where the nn refers to the version of Word that you have (Word XP/2002 is 10, Word 2003 is 11, Word 2007 is 12, Word 2010 is 14).

If you need assistance with a shortcut that does not directly show the name of path, ask.

  • Upgrading to 4 Fusion and now I can't access the web server on my Mac host

I am running OS x 10.6.8 and I'm hosting a virtual machine running windows XP, using NAT Networking. I have a web server running on the mac I need to access from the hosted virtual machine. I used to be able to just use the IP address of the gateway in the virtual machine for the web server, but it doesn't seem to work. If I set the external IP address of the mac it seems to work, but I don't have a static IP address, so it is a pain to update every hour.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

Although in some cases, the IP address of the gateway works, nevertheless IMO that is a misuse and should use the address IP of VMware NAT Virtual Ethernet adapter IP address the host not IP address of gateway.

If in a Terminal, run the following command:

    ifconfig | grep -A 3 vmnet8

Then use the address after "inet" IP said at the exit.

    Example on my system:

Last login: Mon Jan 16 12:43:00 on ttys000
    Computer:~ WKZ$ ifconfig | grep -A 3 vmnet8
    vmnet8: flags=8863 mtu 1500
        ether 00:50:56:c0:00:08
        inet 172.16.198.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 172.16.198.255
    Computer:~ WKZ$

So I use 172.16.198.1 of the prompt or use the host name of the Mac (without the .local) after the addition of 172.16.198.1 and the hostname of the Mac to the guest hosts file.

The PC above has fantastic built-in safety for children - called "magic desktop" which has locked access to the chosen computer other than the programs and Web sites.

Since the upgrade (wish I had not!), I can not access this Magic Desktop.

PC and web competely now open to children and am only able to restrict access to Web sites by setting up an e-mail address for them and parental on devices etc. No local locking through Internet as on Windows 7 settings.

  • Upgrade SSD and allowing the UEFI again after you install Windows 8

Hi, having a problem w / install Windows 8 on 128 GB SSD using boot inherited (to easily boot from CD/DVD) and then return to UEFI boot sequence. Model is Dell Inspiron 17r SE. I'm absolutely not an expert on the terminology and technology, so I hope that I am using the correct terms. I removed the 1 TB disk that was originally shipped w / to settle more easily. I am able to install correctly to win 8 to the new disk (using a disc Dell win 8). After I reboot and try to come back back in the UEFI, I get a reboot constant return to the menu of the BIOS/legacy/Windows, UEFI, parameters, Diagnostic Boot Manager. Windows 8 will start only if Legacy option or boot first hard drive is selected. I DO NOT have the msata SSD, so my problem is not in the driver problem intel matrix (or whatever it's called).

I looked at the PDF of installation of windows 8 in the wiki and forums and basically tells you to put the computer in legacy mode and install Windows 8, it does not say you can return to the UEFI boot. The only thing I do not according to who download drivers SATA on USB/add iso and loading them to install. That would be the question? I wouldn't guess.

I have also tried to hit SHIFT + F10 to install and enter Diskpart, select disk 0, Clean, convert the GPT and exit and then the installation. No change. Am I supposed to completely install Windows 8, go back to install the drive, do the SHIFT + F10 sequence and then install then it would convert my GPT disk? I would assume install Win 8 would like to ask if you had UEFI and law/format accordingly.

Questions or comments, please let me know. I would like this mode to get started more quickly. It's fast now through the bios boot, but I wish it were through the UEFI.

When you use the legacy mode to install Windows 8, your setup application assumes that you want to format the SSD as a MBR disk.  That's why your system keeps jumping from UEFI.  Try to remove your current partitions (the disk must be empty to start), change your mode UEFI system configuration option and using the F12 boot menu a time.  Your computer must have an option on this menu to start your DVD/CD drive UEFI mode.  When you reach this point, remember to select the option to format the drive as a GPT disk.  UEFI mode can manage data the MBR and GPT disks, but if you want to start to UEFI, I'm sure the system drive must be a GPT formatted the player so that there the UEFI boot blocks.

  • Intermittent WiFi problem after upgrade to Windows 10

My acer aspire V3 - 571 has been intermittently lose WiFi for the last 2 days since Windows 10 Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade.

    The Aspire has:

Driver Atheros wireless network adapt AR5BWB222 10.0.0.38 Wednesday 2/15/12

    So far, I have:

    1. in the properties Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter, I unchecked the box in the tab property management who read allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

1B. Made sure flight mode was in the off position.

1 c. Forget exactly where I did, but made certain settings in another? location have been set to "Maximum Performance".

    2. check that the firmware is updated on my network router, the value 2 of WPA - PSK (AES) security.

    3. search through many forums to read the responses of people upgrading Windows 10 WiFi issues - seems it is a widespread problem, although no one said that the WiFi signal loss was intermittent, as is my laptop. Shots of the Internet for my research also shows WiFi problems occurred in the past for installation of Windows 8. (So far have not come across mentions of WiFi problems for the latest installations of Windows 7).

    4. in exploring my laptop, I came across a page of Microsoft Updates - SEE ATTACHED. I was surprised to find that these updates go out quite frequently during the day. For example, 10 separate updates between 23:30 and 16:24 on August 1 and 18 separate updates between 12 h 06 at 15:57 on August 2.  Included in the record of updates for August 1 and August 2. I am aware that Microsoft uses my WiFi to download updates AUTOMATICALLY. It is possible that this intermittent intermittent interruptions of the WiFi update download?

    5. this afternoon, when the WiFi did not work for Windows 10. I reinstalled as a dual boot Ubuntu 14.04. I have had no trouble to connect to the WiFi for Ubuntu.

    Not yet:

    1. I haven't tried connecting the laptop via an Ethernet cable to my router during one of these WiFi failure.

    2. my ISP is a VOIP/Internet, using a Westell and a single Cisco router configuration. I have not taken into account if they can be a cause of the problem.

    3. I read on a forum that someone corrected their problem with WiFi connection by changing their setting include TKIP security router

NOTE: I need to put Windows screenshot attachment 10 updates in a response email separate to this post as this post does not accept the attachment.

Would appreciate your comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I'll probably also put this on a Windows 10 forum elsewhere.

    Hello!

FYI, this has worked for me, finally a solution!

The strangest thing - I have uninstalled the driver Atheros. Do NOT reinstall it. After uninstalling the driver Atheros, a right screen Windows 10 panel immediately appeared style - either on advice of Panel or in the page settings of WiFi, was asleep, can't remember which - that contains an entry box marked my wifi password. I entered the password and boom, the wifi worked. He has been since.

Once again thank you. Mark resolved.

Hi everyone, I recently bought a new hard drive for my acer Aspire E1-571 gor because the old one (500 GB hitachi) "crushed". Then I did today, it's a WD scorpio blue 2.5 "320 GB. I have installed the new drive, run an installation of windows 7 x 64 ultimate edition of windows install I divided on 2 partitions, formatted and installed the system disk. Installation is completely normal and fast but the laptop keep coming at startup screen ACER logo then restarts after the instalator finished and did the final restart before you run the Windows for the first time and again and again and again to infinity so I reinstall windows once more and it's the same thing. After that, I got the new drive from the laptop and put it in another laptop of mine an Asus and windows proceeded to the desktop without any problem. So my question is what is the case, do I need a disk for acer hitachi because no other brand will not work with it or what? or maybe its a sort of Matherboard problem with the disk?

So, it's a 2 GB module and one 4 GB. Different manufacture.

    My question is:

What are the maximum size (GB) and speed (MHZ) that supports this laptop? And should I upgrade with two modules of the same size, or can I have 1 module with the maximum allowed size? For example, 2x4gb or 1x8GB?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Kind regards.

In fact, you have 2 sticks of memory 667 MHz. In dual channel, it means to 1333 MHz.

    Specifications of aspire V3 - 571 G-9686:

    Chipset: Mobile Intel HM77 Express.

    Processor: Intel Core i7-3632QM

Integrated graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M - 2 GB RAM DDR3

You can upgrade up to 8 GB (2x4gb) and Max frequency 1600 MHz. For example: If you install a single stick of 4 GB - 1600 MHz, it is single-channel: 1600/2 = 800 MHz.

  • Battery not detected after upgrading Windows 10

Improved my Aspire 5738 of Win 7 to 10 to win. After upgrade, no battery is detected by the laptop. I like to win 10, but if no solution is found, I'll neeed to roll back to Win 7 fast enough, or I'll be stuck with a laptop that is always running in an office environment.

I tried the old standbys (unplugging everything, release the power button, then restart, then adding back battery), but does not work. Someone at - it any other ideas / suggestions /directions?

    Thank you!

Please check if you can make a battery driver reset. Here are the steps: go to the currency manager. • A laptop could restore factory image after upgrade to Windows 10?

    I have a laptop Aspire E1 - 531 provided with Windows 8.

A few months ago, I upgraded to Windows 10.  For some reason that I would like to restore it back to Windows 8.  I wonder if the hidden image of the operating system factory default would be always left intact after the upgraded Windows 10.  I press Alt + F10 to access the screen where I suppose to be able to restore the system to Windows 8.  I'm not sure if I should proceed from here I'm worried if I get Windows 8 or 10 Windows and if resetting or restoring would fail to half way and end up with an unusable computer.

The web site, I've tried has been http://us-store.acer.com/erecovery/rcd/ I think I googled and found it.

Also, the site you suggest seems to tell me how to create a recovery media from the computer we buy.  I think it's too late for me in this case because the computer has been upgraded to Windows 10 of Windows 8.
